I'm using Studio 7 by Pinnacle systems. They make excellent consumer, industrial, and professional products. I 've been editing videotape for 15 years preofessionally, and am satisfied with what I can do with studio seven on my desktop at home.

Being robbed sucks. My house has been B&E'd twice ... the first time my, video camera had pictures of my first daughter doing cool stuff when whe was just a few months old... you know, smiling, etc. The camera was replaceable, but the video inside was priceless to me. Probably some dumb fu@kin' kid who sold $10,000 worth of our stuff for a big bag of dope. I'd love to catch a thief some time -- like you, Rhino -- I'd give the dude a good old beatin'!!!

Hmmm ... may be too late already ... mine are 8 and 10

Sorry, Alan -- perhaps I interperted your statement wrong... my back goes up whenever anyone questions the value of some protection for one's head. Yes, we need to take steps to avoid incidents like premature deployments (I had one in a stand recently -- and am having my BOC modified to avoid it happening again) -- but just as Lisa continually endorses people not downsizing too fast, I endorse the concept of ALWAYS wearing a helmet. A blanket endorsement? Perhaps... and as these threads show, there are more than "a few isolated incidents..." Didn't mean to offend you -- and I respect your comments in these forums! Frank

Agreed. Landing target is where the headlights from the two vehicles cross on the ground. A third vehicle in the middle is an additional, and unnecessary obstacle.

A man died in Florida a year or two ago, and on his deathbed, he told his wife he was D B Cooper ... FBI checked in to it, but did not conclude for sure if really was him ...

Thanks, Alan, but I think one would be foolish to claim they don't jump with a helmet for fear of injury. Yes, we do need to make EVERY effort to avoid injury on our jumps, but I think (and I have no effort to back this up) that there are FAR more people have benefited from wearing helmets while skydiving than there are people who have suffered because of it. Certainly some helments offer much more protection than others, and no helmet can be guaranteed to definitively prevent injuries, I believe it is wise to protect your noggan with something!

Yes, I jump at UHPC ... in just a few hours, too, if things work out right after work! Last week we had a stroy about a deer that was being chase by a cougar thru a residential neighbourhood ... the deer jumped over a fence fleeing the big cat, but on the other side was a swimming pool -- and the deer drowned in it!

My national brother -- suspecting that American's know anything about Canadian news is naive. Our countries' relationship is like that of the elephant and the mouse. The mouse lives in the shadow of the elephant, and is painfully aware of every move the elephant makes ... but the elephant most often isn't even aware the mouse is there. In general, most Americans know very little about what goes on outside their borders. While the "friendly-fire" deaths of Canadian servicemen is a national tragedy in this country, for Americans, it is of little or no consequence. Many Americans are so ignorant about their neighbours (and largest trading partner) to the north, many cross the border to visit, thinking they will be visiting eskimos, and hunting polar bears. A Canadian satire television show (This Hour has 22 Minutes) features a segment called "Talking to Americans. Host Rick Mercer, posing as a journalist, arranged an interview with the governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee. He told Huckabee that the Canadian's National Parliament building is a frozen replica of the Capitol in Washington... "The National Igloo". But it was melting because og global warning, so Canada was preserving it. The governor taped a message congratulating Canada on preserving it's national igloo!

Here's the short version of the lead story on our supper-hour newscast tonight: A bizarre accident in Saanich this morning has left a 42-year-old man brain dead. Saanich police say the man was riding his bicycle down a hill near some woods when a deer jumped in front of him and he hit it. The man was taken to hospital, but police say he has been pronounced brain dead. After the collision the deer ran back into the woods. Police say the cyclist's speed may have been a factor in the mishap. The man's family has consented to donate his organs for transplant purposes.
