So how about now? This thread is from a couple yeas ago, but I have a feeling there are a whole lot more people out there listening to podcasts now than there were a couple years ago. I'm looking for new suggestions! So far I just have skydive radio and the Lex and Terry morning show. What subscriptions do you have? Killing threads since 2004.

I managed to run over my 6 year old iPod with a tractor, and the iPod came out on the losing end of that encounter, so I just picked up a new one. I would love to be able to start ripping some of my DVDs. Curious what folks are using for DVD ripping/converting. I saw a couple older threads, but this technology changes so frequently I thought I'd start fresh with this one. I'm on a PC (for now). jason. Killing threads since 2004.

Well, I'd love to say that I'll be thinking about you in the morning while you are out there in your first tri, however, my lazy ass will still be asleep. Good luck, and have fun! Killing threads since 2004.

I watch NCIS and The Unit, though more often than not I miss it when they are on TV and just watch them on the website sometime later in the week. Killing threads since 2004.

Tallahassee Florida - need a place for summer rental
FlyingJ replied to marcandalysse's topic in The Bonfire
I would assume that there will be piles of apartment sublets becoming available in the near future as the spring term at FSU comes to an end. You might have to stick it out for a bit in the hotel, but you can probably pick up a furnished sublet pretty cheap. Killing threads since 2004. -
peanuts are pretty darn good for ya, even if they have some salt on em. nothing like that natural fat but i do give you the benefit of the doubt, the people that eat the bar peanuts are typically people who need to watch it on the health side I think he's probably going more from the standpoint of sticking your hand into the same bowl of peanuts that the guy next to you did after wiping his ass in the bathroom and getting a bit of shit on his hand that he didn't wash off. So I had an interesting thought regarding international airline travel.
FlyingJ replied to grue's topic in The Bonfire
Really? I've put friend's tickets under my number before and gotten the credit, even though I didn't pay for their ticket. At the gate just asked them to add my number to their profile. Points showed up as if I had purchased them for their travel. Suuuuweeeet! Now, guess the person taking the reservations would have to be pretty dim to see three different versions of the first name, with the same last name. Grue - you just need to get two sets of fake documents! That's it! Killing threads since 2004. -

Hmmm...do us all a favor and take someone with you that can witness the whole thing, that way they can come back and post to tell us what happened while they have you in interrogation, trying to figure out what kind of terrorist activity you were trying to get away with! Yup, he bought them and your butt was in the seat. You (or he in this case) got the points for actually completing the travel. You could buy a dozen cross country tickets, but you only get credit (at least in most FF programs) for the travel that you complete. Few months back I skipped out on the 4th leg of a 4 leg trip. Got the miles from the first three segments, but no dice on the 4th, even though the ticket was paid for and no refund issued. Killing threads since 2004. -

It's that part I can see not happening. They'll figure out a way to screw you. You right there. Yup. You can only travel as one of you, so the other two will get hosed on the points since they won't actually be making the trip. Now if you could figure out some way to go through the gate, sneak back into the terminal and then go through the gate again...and again...then you'd be in business! Killing threads since 2004. -
When I was an AmeriCorps member and BEYOND broke, I had to rely on what was purchased for the crew to be able to mix with (because the only money I could scrape up went to the whiskey). One night I found the cooler empty of Coke, Dr. Pepper, pretty much everything except for water and fruit punch flavored Gatorade. I mixed with the Gatorade, and I'll be damned...I liked it! Kind of scary how easy it went down too. Now I do enjoy the taste of red Gatorade normally, so that probably has something to do with it, but for the two years that I was in AmeriCorps and completely broke, but had access to all the Gatorade I could drink, that became my primary mixer. Haven't done it since, though I think that is mainly because I moved to Texas and can get Shiner anywhere. I could never find it in Florida! Killing threads since 2004.

Possibly, though I'd say DO OVER and keep on keepin on with the bet in order to try and quit. Maybe double or nuthin? Killing threads since 2004.

Seems like this part of the original thread sends the decision over in your favor, though they weren't outright banned, seems like they came into play pretty quickly considering the statement below: "Oh, and no cheating with other forms of tobacco... i.e. chewing tobacco, etc. I don't intend on using patches or gum or anything like that, but that one's up in the air with me... if you wanna use em, go for it... I won't... my half of it is gonna be without any stop smoking aids at all " Killing threads since 2004.

I hope this happens to other people. Do you ever have some incredibly random memory, something you have no reason to have stored in your brain, just pop out of nowhere into your conscious thought? Driving down the road yesterday it happened to me twice within about 30 minutes. First the string PVFG88B popped into my head. That was my very first Prodigy "screenname" back around 1990 or so. The second, about half an hour later, was JJW1054. That was the license plate on the big Ford cargo van that my family owned for the better part of the 80s. Again, no reason whatsoever for that to have popped into my head. How about you? Please tell me I'm not alone. Killing threads since 2004.

I like the extension idea! I hit it hard right off the bat and lost 10-15lbs, and then got sent on a wildfire detail where it rained two days after I arrived and all we did was sit around and eat (followed by drinking lots of beer at night) and gained it all, plus a bit, back. Doh! Hittin' it hard again and feeling good, but it sure isn't coming off as easy as it did a couple months ago. Killing threads since 2004.

I voted other, because through my boss at my college job in Cincinnati I was able to get connected with an internship that would help me move to NYC, and after my two month internship I was offered a full time job with the company that I stayed with for a year an a half. I spent that year and a half networking in the field I really wanted to work in and when it came time to move on easily moved into the job of my dreams via connections I had made. Realizing that you are typically not supposed to cross a solid yellow line while driving (such as not passing when the solid line is on your side) how come turn lanes have a solid yellow line? Doesn't that effectively mean that since the dashed line is on the inside that you are only allowed to exit the lane, but not enter it? Killing threads since 2004.

______________________________ Not one bit! He'd be bellerin' like a fresh-cut bull-calf! You know what those calves are bellerin', don't you? My Baaaaaaallsss! Knowing that there are probably an awful lot of people out there who have no idea what an emasculatome is I thought I'd just throw this link out there so ya'll can get up to speed. Scroll down a bit and just imagine Lee in place of the animal in the pics, and just envision his face as masterrig walked up and pulled out this little piece of machinery. http://fiascofarm.com/goats/buck-wether-info.htm#burdizzo Killing threads since 2004.

Do they? That's the kind of thing I want to pass on, that it's going to bite him in the ass when someone is looking down the list of purchases and wonders WTF! Killing threads since 2004.

That right there is pretty much the gist of what I told him, but the response to that was "so how will they know - who tracks this stuff?" That's the part I couldn't answer because I really don't know. I think telling him about what could happen was probably enough to get him to stop, and it doesn't seem like it has been going on for long, but it is certainly a messed up situation.
