If I need to go faster than 120 I will do it in the air! I have a Buell Lightning X1, It accelerates fast and only goes 145mph. Thats more than enough for me. The idea of going 180+ 2 feet above the pavement sounds fun and painful at the same time. You dont have a reserve tire in case you blow one out at that speed. Just my 2 cents. I like to go fast, but its just too damn crazy with all the idiot drivers out there. At least in skydiving there are fewer people to "pull out in front of you" while in freefall. Hello everyone, I will be visiting Denver, CO during the second weekend of october. Any Idea what the weather is like that time of year. I am debating on bringing my snowboard. I also want todo some site seeing. If any denver natives could tell me where the fun places are, that would be awesome. I plan on checking out the DZ while I am there. Hey everyone, I cannot believe the response. I put the post up looking for adive, knowedge, and other poeples experiances, not really a cry for help, but it could be seen that way. I have been reading throught the entire thread and have even gotten a few PMs. I thank everyone for there support, and the willingness to share you idea's and experiance. There are so many good replies, that I am overwhelmed on where to start first. I will say one thing, I dont think I am the military type. I am not going to say I haven't givin it some thought though. I am sorry I couldn't reply sooner, work has kept me busy the past 24hrs. Some consider me lucky going through this at a young age, and some sympathize. Now I see it from both perspectives. I would not wish the stress on anyone, but for some people the sooner it happens, the better. I have learned alot in life the past 2-3 years, mostly about true friends and real family. It is very discomforting what people will do, and i mean the ones you can supposedly "trust". I want to do things in life. there are two ways to be a part life, one is to exist, and one is to live. I want to live life to its fullest, and to do that, I must set my goals for the future. The toughest part is decieding what goals to set. I have been saving money like mad. When I make a decision, I will be ready right then, I don't know if i want time to talk myself out of it. There are so many people in my life that will not understand at first, but that will be there problem until they figure it out, or until I take the time to explain it. Thanks for everyones support. This means alot to me, and anyone else going through this. For now, I am going to start a fresh day that will be mistake free from the time I get up. Recently I have been questioning my reasons for recent decisions, and I have been trying to figure out what I want to do in the future. Its been tough, and on my mind a lot. I do a lot of thinking on the road, I drive a lot. Does anyone ever get the feeling they don't know what to do at all? Usually I make my decisions based on knowledge and experience, like anyone does. I have reached a cross road in my life that has me stumped. I will be 24 soon, and want to start building a decent future for myself. Sometimes I feel it’s a good idea to drop everything now and get a fresh start, maybe I can do things better based on previous experience. But then there’s that fear, worse than that first time you jump. That fear of being able to start over, with the economy going down the toilet, I don’t know if I could get a job. I don’t want to quit my current job without lining up something new. Sometimes I just want to be left alone, sometimes I want to take over the world. Real mixed emotions running wild and the only control I have is to stay on my current path, even though I desire so much more. I was always board in school, I always see things way different that other people. And when I explain myself, other people have a hard time understanding what I am trying to say. And I think to myself, am I stupid, or too damn smart for my own good. My brain goes millions of miles per hour. I solve problems by logic first, then ad knowledge. I haven't been challenged in life in a while, until I did my first jump, and that still challenges me, mostly because I haven't pass my L3 yet. I have decided to visit a wind tunnel before I do any more jumps. But skydiving is besides the point. I know I want to skydive, I am just waiting till the time is right. I know I want to move from California, I just don't know where. I know I want to change my career, I just don’t know what else I want to do. I know I am sick of selfish, un-appreciative advantage taking friends and family. I know there are only a few people in my life I can trust, yet I still don't talk to them. I have never been one to make decisions based on emotions. The desions I make will affect other people, should I feel guilty? Should I even give a damn? After all, its my life. I guess I want to be fair to everyone, but this time I want to be fair to myself as well. I always make sacrifices for other peoples benefit, I think I am done doing that. I think its time for me to live my life the way I want to and do the things I want to do. I think I will only make sacrifices if it benefits me. Yeah, maybe I am being selfish, Maybe I am being a dumbass, but its time to put a stop to the negative stuff in my life, and its time to start making my future, and its time to stop being intimated by anyone or anything….. Thanks for everyones Advice. I went and talked to him and he was ok about it. He "told" me he had no idea that happened. Personally, I think he did know, and he got called on it. He offered to pay for it and apologized. Personally, everyone is right, Its just an object. I know its a wore out phrase, but its the principle of the matter. Hey everyone, I have an interesting thing going on at work. I am currently working out of the smallest office, 4-5 employees. We have poeple from other area's stoping by to pick up parts and drop stuff off through out the day. Here is my problem. I park my truck out back, to avoid and door dings or paint scratches. When I goto stores, I park way in the back. I try my best to keep my only car looking nice. When ever I get back to my truck I walk around and look for any major damage or scratches, then get on my way. Usually Stuff isn't noticable until its too late. Yesterday I was washing my truck at home and noticed this ugly scratch down the body line of my truck. The only place I have driven to is Work and Back in the past 2 days. Photo Of Truck There is a photo for visual referance. So I am thinking to myself, where the hell did this come from! And I got to thinking about who I parked next too. And Then I remembered I was parked next to a co-workers Jeep. So I measure how high the scratch was, and I walked over to the Jeep. Sure enough, there is red paint at the bodyline hieght of my truck on the edge of his door. This is a guy that I have heard nothing but bad things about, he is a complete ass hole and so on and so forth. The question here is, what do I do. Should I; A. Confront him on it, and ask him if he has a problem with me. Then ask for his insurance information! B. Put A nice scratch down to the steal on his jeep and play dumb (Like he did by not telling me about it) C. Talk to my boss, then let the boss confront him on it. If I do this then option B is out of the question. Being that its at work, I don't want to create a hostile environment the rest of the time I have to work here. I just think its really shitty that a person cannot own nice things without other people trying to fuck it up. Normally I would blow it off, cause this stuff usually is done by someone you don't know. Is it any different because I know who the person is? Thanks for everyones input! I have been to the airport in denver, but it was just a layover. When I go in a few weeks I will look around. When Expensive is mentioned, what is it? I have looked online at apartment prices and they seem 1/3 the cost of northern california. On another note, Why does everybody blame "Californians?". For the most part everyone is cool. They must be complaining about people who just moved from Cali that were not raised in california. The bay area life is fast paced and stressful. Hey everyone, I have been giving it some thought about relocating. Thinking about going to Denver, CO. I have friend who lives out there and claims its wonderful. I am flying out there in a few weeks to visit, and maybe interview at a few places. I have never lived anywhere but California. I have been thinking about moving outta Cali for a while. Its time for somthing different. Texas has cross my mind, but I hear the job market isn't the greatest out there. I know winter time will suck, but I like to snowboard too. That won't bother me as much. I also know that skydives from 15K are really 10K up cause of the altitude. Maybe I would just drive to another DZ if I want more Alti, who knwos.
