Will definitly have rigger inspected befor purchase. Thanks James

Thanks for the info. The current owner said the 210 is a tight fit in this container so some downsizing wouldn't be a problem. Is the infinity freefly friendly? On my belly so far but want to keep options open. Thanks James

I am a new jumper at 155lbs and have been on a nav 220 so far. I am looking at a 1998 infinity rig with a PD210 Sillouhette. Is the Sillouhette ok for a first canopy? How many jumps do they last? Any comments on the infinity container? Thanks James

Only 21 jumps here so check with an instructor befor doing what I do. I found it helps to slide the legstraps down just a bit right after opening, after canopy check, befor unstowing brakes. This puts me in a little bit more seated position and is much more comfortable for me. James

I guess you just can't trust humane nature any more. A good old fashion ass whooping sounds like a plan. Make that a stick beating for good measure. This is a good reason to ask people of questionable values about new used gear they show up with. If its legit they will probably be interested in talking about their new toys. I'm currently looking for some used gear what's the best way to make sure I don't make it profitable for some crook? James

Sounds like reckless endangerment to me. Rideing like that with kids in the neighborhood. If it is happening on a regular basis you should get video of what's happening and either show it to him and threaten the cops if it keeps up or just go to the cops. Someone needs to stop this asshat befor he hurts a kid. Jerks like this give the rest of us a bad rep. I'm not saying I never rode wild on the street but not in a residential area. If all else fails if a patch of small loose gravel appeared by the end of his driveway he might make quite the example out of himself laying in the road in front of his driveway. James

As you can see I'm new to skydiving. Is this kind of thing common at dropzones? Is it more just a problem at big boogies? After breaking the bank on equipment do I have to watch it every second? I guess there are bad apples in every bunch, but you'd think the cost of this sport would weed out most of them. Not familiar with the neptune, can you see the pink battery cover when someones wearing it. LOW LIFE BASTARDS Will be watching for it in Eloy, James

Never been in the tunnel, only have 19 jumps so what do I know. The boxman won't seem nearly as boreing with the earth rushing at you at 120mph, that is if the rush of jumping out of the plane doesn't overload you to much. Go up and JUMP. That said I can't wait for the tunnel at eloy, sounds like serious fun/learning/moneysucking. James

I had a drunk asshole pound a hole through my bedroom wall from his apartment. By the time I got over there he had it big enough to get his head and shoulder/arm through. He was yelling about killing someone. It sure was comforting to have my .357 full of hollow points on the dresser. I got up pointed it at his head from about 5 feet away yelled at the wife to call 911 and at this asshole that I was going to blow his head off. He kept makeing the hole bigger and trying to get at me/us. I pulled the hammer back pointed right between his eyes and yelled I'm going to blow your fuckin head off. At this point he realizes what is about to happen, pulls his head/arm back through the hole and continues yelling till the cops got there and handled the situation. If I had not had my weapon I'm sure things would not have turned out so well. By the way this was Christmas morning about 5am. The threat of deadly force was enough to stop this situation. I sure am glad I didn't have to shoot this jerk and hope he knows he was about 6 inches movement from death. James Bullets, shoot all you want we'll make more!!!!!!!!

What's your view on the NZ Skydive Diploma?
chutem replied to ickleFish's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Check under photo/video forum for career possibilities. There is a very recent discussion of this place there. Doesn't seem to be much from recent grads there, more about early classes. Hope that helps James -
A Few Facts from the National Institute of Justice
chutem replied to Kennedy's topic in Speakers Corner
All this and we still give pocket knives to boy scouts. I'm satisfied with my S.W. .357. I don't want an assault rifle with a bayonet lug. I sure as hell don't want someone telling me I can't have one. I feel fine reloading after 6 shots, but hate it when they tell me I can only have 10. You know what they say about wanting what your not "allowed". James -
I've been meeting people left and right at Eloy. Just pick someone that was making a solo on one of your loads and introduce yourself later. I'm there on mondays so it seems the other people are looking for monday jumpers. Most all that I have met are very "nice" to me the newbie. I'm just dissapointed that it may be so long befor the wife and I can do our own 2-ways together. James

The wife and I are on coach jumps now, working on A license. If we are not going to be able to jump together for 100 jumps it sure would have been nice to find this out befor spending so much cash. Not that I wouldn't jump over it, but would have been nice to know. Jumping together is a goal we are both looking fwd. to. I guess I will have to ask when we go back to eloy monday. You guys are bumming me out. James

Don't mean to be negative with the term computer geeks (wish I had your income). Why do so many people who skydive make their living at a keyboard. Maybe it's just me but it seems like half the people at the DZ do. Stupid question, oh well board at work. And no your boat won't be ready for the weekend, I wasted to much time on DZ.com James

Did 1st 4 coach jumps with Stephan at Eloy monday, what a blast!!! Also coach jumps cheaper the more you do in one day due to equipment rental price structure from school. 4 coach jumps in one day came out to $89 and change each. The wife did lvl 7 ASP and 3 solos so we'll keep the coaches busy next monday. Coach jumps with Stephan, do it if you get the chance. James

Did 1st solo jump on my 1st pack job Sat. morning. A little nerve racking but all went well. Low solo/hop and pop was the scary one. Ground looks big from plane at this altitude. 21 people snickering at you looking nervous. One said relax this is supposed to be fun. Don't know if he meant it or was just messing with me. One thing though, Door seat "rocks" in the twin otter. Wife did ASP 5&6 but got weathered out for 7. Start coach jumps with Stephan Mon morning. Matt you picked right time to leave, winds never did calm down again. James

For my tandems at Desert Skydive I asked the owner/video guy about tipping and he said they're getting paid to do a job and don't wory about it. At Skydive AZ they have a sign-- not necc. but appreciated-- kind of thing. It is located next to a guest log for people to write about they're experience. I have tipped the people who go the extra mile for me. also as seems popular in this thread I tip the guys keeping my wife alive in ASP (or tandems befor). I appreciated the sign because it let me know that I would not "insult" anyone by offering the tip. I think you should have a sign one way or the other, well worded, to make it clear to customers what is "normal" in this situation. Remember most tandem customers have no idea of what is or is not appropriate as it is they're 1st trip to the DZ or close to it. Sorry to be longwinded just thought you might like the customer perspective. James

Did you say "on the air" 7 days a week. You should try to hook some kind of promotion up with the DZ and the station. There has got to be value for all partys involved there somehow. Maybe a weekly episode of throw dan out of the plane. You talking about skydiving on air must be great publicity. You do "spread the word" on air don't you? James

Did last 3 ASP jumps monday. Did diving exits on 5-6-7 what a blast. Taking friday off to do my solos. I'm looking forward to the coach jumps now, I learned so much so fast on the last 3 ASP's with Tim I can't wait to get back.

Sounds good to me!!!!!!!!!! Only problem might be landing out. Must be hard to hold a good sight picture with all that addrenalin.
-
Damn, learn things here all the time!!!!!!!!! Still funny as hell on the video.

Can't blame G.B. for his actions, He's still recovering from Whacking his head on exit on that AFF jump a few years back.
-
I'm getting the picture. I knew I moved to AZ for a reason, I just mistakenly thought it was for year round watersports.

Thanks for the advise---everyone. Sounds like I should consider myself lucky to be close enough to use a facility like Eloy.
