I am drinking a glass (or two) of wine....watching must-see TV.... I tried to call my BF...but apparently he went to sleep before 8:30....the rough life of a firefighter/paramedic (j/k, babe...i love you!) I am seething over a crappy situation at work...talking to my friends about it....and having a glass of wine (I already mentioned that, didn't I?) HEEHEE Anne ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

I just opened my door to a group of trick or treaters...one of whom was an adorable Spiderman....maybe three years old? Interesting question....I have done the long distance thing with two different guys...(not at the same time!) First time around the distance led to us breaking up. This time around, I go crazy everytime I have to leave Marc or he has to leave me...I hate being away from him...but I don't think that the absence is making me any fonder of him. So I voted for they are both BS...I am a firm believer in things happen for a reason. If Mr. Long Distance #1 hadn't broken up with me, I would never have learned to stand on my own two feet. I would never have discovered my own strength. I would never had the balls to jump out of an airplane. I now know that there is nothing that I can't do! Anne ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

Seems to me that there are only two ways to change the system....overthrow it by force (not very likely) or to elect people who can change it from the inside out. If you are not happy with your candidates, why not run yourself or support someone you believe in? What are you accomplishing by NOT voting?

Zenister, Whether you vote or not the government is going to be there. So why not at least be heard and vote for the lesser of two evils? That is often how it is for me. I am not crazy about either of my choices, but one is clearly worse (or less in line with my thinking) than the other. Anne

The first thing that popped into my mind was that most BASE jumps don't follow the BSRs.....things like minimum opening altitudes?!? Anne ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

Yeah..I can't stand people who bitch and moan about the government, but don't take the time to vote....if you don't vote, you have no right to complain! WE have a very interesting situation in Missouri...If the Republican candidate for senator wins, he will be sworn in immediately, rather than in January with the others....that could change the make-up of the senate for the rest of the year.....should be a close race and fun to watch! There is something to be said for doing your training at a DZ close to you...that allows you to become a part of the DZ family....from student status on up.... Just a thought. Anne -

Skydiving related fears that need alleviating.

One of the greatest things my first jump course instructor told me.... I did static line out of the 182. Someone asked, "What if I slip off?" He replied, "If you feel yourself slipping....let go...that is what you were planning to do anyway!" Just relax! Anne ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!! -

YIKES!!! 0: I really need to make a skydive! lots: Lots of firsts...none of them skydiving related, so no beer!.......first night in a bed and breakfast...first time painting pottery....first bath with Marc.....I will just stop there.... I keep having that commercial run through my head! It was a great weekend....Good to be back in Springfield where my father grew up and my Grandmother lived. Good shopping, great bed & breakfast, good dinner, love the jacuzzi..... Champagne waiting in the room when we returned from dinner... When I got home tonight my living room was filled with balloons...I love my mom!!!! All in all a great weekend....

Thankfully I was smart enough to ask someome else. I like the idea of checking my gear myself and then having a second pair of educated eyes look things over....I will never seek his help again...but I will seek the help of other, helpful, responsible skydivers. Anne ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

To all of you people who answered 15 minutes or less....I hate you.....j/k! It is 86.6 miles from my driveway to Archway's parking lot. Takes me about an hour and 15 minutes....on the way there I use the time to let go of all my issues...I don't bring work or any other problems with me to the DZ.... Anne ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

I made the mistake of asking a certain experienced jumper (although he has fewer jumps than I do) at my DZ to check my pin and make sure that my pilot chute was cocked. He did not open my main flap...he just patted my rig and said that everything looks great. It pissed me off to no end that this 200 jump wonder essentially REFUSED to give me a proper pin check. I won't be asking for his help again. Anne ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!
