He needs to get her something or do something special. Not a lot of money, but some gesture acknowledging the day. He could make her a little card. Skymedic made me the sweetest card I have ever gotten, and he gave it to me on a random day. No money....just time and a lovely thought inside. I treaure it more than anything else anyone has ever given me. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

At a bar I will drink beer....currently Amber Bock or Killian's. At home or a restaurant it is red wine....usually a zinfandel (not white zin, but the real stuff.) ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

Medic gets off easy on this one....his rigger doesn't drink alcohol....so Marc is getting him a case of Diet Dr. Pepper..... Along with the case of beer for the first cutaway. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

Interesting...I did not hear this little tidbit.....Sounds like he was just daring fate to hand him a cutaway.... I remember back to a Friday evening that my mom asked me what color my reserve was....I told her I wasn't sure....two days later I was sure as I deployed it....... ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

So....as a teacher who makes $40,000ish a year...I don't have a real job? How about my paramedic boyfriend who saves lives everyday? Yeah....we don't have real jobs. For some of us it isn't about the money, it is about the value of what we do. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

Marc got his reserve packed up for this weekend. Did a enjoyable solo headdown. Deployed his Safire...pulled his slider below his slinks. Went to hold his nose to clear his ears. Somewhere in there he dropped a toggle. Toggle and slider spun up and knotted...he did not have it cleared by 1500 ft. Peel, Pull, Punch. Watch the reserve handle tumble away.... Marc landed fine, near his main and freebag. Did I mention that this was his FIRST cutaway??? Case of beer to be brought to Chili party next weekend, along with a special gift for the rigger, who gets to pack the thing up again!!! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

Marc was trying to drink some Shiner beer on Thanksgiving. Apparently it had been in my parents' fridge for about 7 years. Needless to say, it was pretty gross. Yes, beer can go bad. We were trying to have a toast to you, Dave, but the beer was just too rancid!!! Happy turkey day, anyway! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

I am thankful for the powers that be, or fate, or cosmic forces, whatever...that have brought a certain wonderful nine year-old into my life. I am thankful for Skymedic. I am thankful that my father is still with us. He is doing ok...and still cracking bad jokes...so it can't be too bad!!! I am thankful that I have found real friends where I work. It has made my return from a year long illness tolerable. I am thankful for my own health. I can deal with the occasional headache. Just not one that lasts for 10 months. I am grateful for the sky. It has opened my eyes to all sorts of people and friends. I am grateful for the song, "Somewhere over the rainbow/Wonderful world" (or is it life??) You know...the good morning Rantoul song!!!!! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

I think the most important thing to remember is that after a few hundred jumps, it won't make a lick of difference which method you were trained on. My DZO once told me that being a student is about learning how to save your life after you exit the aircraft. You don't really learn to be a skydiver until you are licensed, anyway. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!! -

Ahhh...I am jealous...although my set-up right now is pretty good, also... During the next nine days, I have to work two of them. That leaves me a lot of time to play and hopefully get into a little trouble!!!! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

I don't remember a time when skydiving wasn't on my list of things to do in my life. I have always wanted to try it. I thought I would do one jump, then cross it off my list forever..... 300 jumps later..... The first time I met a skydiver was when I went to the DZ to make my first jump..... ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

I, personally, am happy to see Rupert go. I was getting sick of his king of the world attitude. And his farewell interview almost made me vomit. "So much for my dreams."
