  1. The server refuses to serve me. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  2. Just to add to the statistical computation - what are the odds of the only two incidents both being caught on video?!?! ...and both videos not beeing published. SCNR For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  3. Oh yes, playing with a flying aircraft really is fun! I love the Pilatus Porter for that. :) For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  4. I used to have the same weight when I started AFF last year and did perfectly fine on a 230 Spark and a 260 Balance. Don't know how big you are (don't know what 6'22'' means) but if you are not very small I don't think you'll get into problems. When doing relative work you might want to lose some weight. 5. Spa/Belgium (120 km) larger DZ with C208B Grefrath (sky-fun.de) (80 km) small DZ with C206-Soloy Genk(Zwartberg)/Belium (120km) nice DZ with a Pilatus Porter Drop me a line when you are here! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  6. Looking into the opening is not the most healthy thing to do for your neck. My Instructor told me to look forward and bend my knees a bit in order to get as few stress on my spine as possible. Maybe ask your instructor about it? For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  7. 100% true - at least for me. I expected skydiving to be a total Adrenalin motor but it is not on most jumps. I just enjoy flying. Adrenalin only joins the game when something happens that was not 100% planed. In most situations Endorphines are the ones that do the synapse's massage. ;-) For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  8. Depends on the place I jump at. Some ask for the ticket plus 14 to 20 EUR for the instructor on one DZ, ticket only on the next. At one DZ that is not commercial you only pay 7 EUR additional to your ticket. Instructors do it for fun and the rest of the ticket is paid by the club in order to help new skydivers and bind them to the club. 9. I possibly over-reacted what lead to an easy misunderstanding of my point. (OK, to be honest - there was no point in my post.) First: I dislike this guy and thing let him run after a few years would be an totaly bad idea. This guy is dangerous! But not dangerous to "the freedom" or "the free world". He is dangerous for the community of human beings. Second: I would sentence him for attempted murder in as many cases as persons where on board of the plane. And put him to a closed psychiatric institution. So he would not see freedom again when I was the judge. What I dislike is the following: What for did he get a life sentences? Here you only get a whole life in prison when you committed a murder. There is no other way. So whom did he kill? He tried to do so and should be punished for trying to do so. He probably is dangerous so he should stay in custody after his sentence for the security of the people around him. What I also dislike very much are sentences like "He fucking said he'd never stop trying to destroy freedom." Can someone quote where he said that? I just read that he felt threaded by western states and that he is a fanatic person. This sentence sounds like "Everyone who is against us is against freedom!" Hey, wake up! People are of different opinions how "freedom" looks like! correct would be "He fucking said he'd never stop trying to destroy the United States of America and maybe some more." USA = Freedom? I do think that this guy should stay locked up all his life as well but I sometimes have the feeling that some people don't lock him up thinking "sad but there is no other way" but "Fu*ck you and go to hell". Revenge is nothing a community should be based on in my eyes. Hope this made some points clearer. Best wishes to _all_ the world Benedikt For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  10. Your loss. I am not giving up hope that th US gets back freedom. Freedom of mind! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  11. Is the USA totally getting mad? I decided not to put a foot on US-Territory a few months ago and nearly every week I read about a new reason why this still is a good idea. Happy to be in "old europe" Benedikt For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  12. I didn't know that. In fact I thought these symbols were banned in nearly all EU countries. It seems I was wrong. I am very happy to got to know you on the dropzone and looking forward to the next season of nice German-Dutch relationship in the air. (and I definitely have to improve my dutch) Blue skies! 14. Hi Monster, I am a rather new jumper so maybe I am wrong. But my thoughts: I would prefere to get the reserve out early. I've just seen two videos where the jumpers had their reserve deployed into a main that still had a line connected with the jumper (in one case it was the foot click for video on the other it was a line catched by a container's flap rigging thread and video). In both cases the reserve was deployed higher than the AAD alititude and the jumpers both had enough time to get something over their head that flew enough to safe them. If you manage to clear the main you will not face the problems they had. On the other hand if you try to clear the main and do not manage to do so until your AAD fires you will not have the amount of time the two above mentioned jumpers had to do what safed them. 16. Hey, there is already such a reserve made by Paratec. This one also packs very small and I love it because I can but a larger reserve in the same Gear. Benedikt For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  17. Sure, just have to give it to you in metric units: 7.0 cm long and 0.5 cm thick. The notches are 2.4cm away from the ends. Hope this helps. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  18. I would not call myself conservative if I would load my main over the recommended max. weight. Like 210 lbs with a PD210(PD9cell). I called the canopie's shape conservative. But you are right, it is over the max. and I would not have done it if I knew it before buying. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  19. Only one thing to add: Congratulations and enjoy the air!
  20. I now have 45 jumps and jump a wingload of nearly 1.2. I think I can only handle it because it is a canopy with a very very conservative shape (PD210). I used to jump a chayenne 210 on my 13th jump. Flared a bit to late and now still have problems with my wrist after now 3 months. I tried the same canopy 30 jumps later and enjoyed it very much. Maybe do some more 20 jumps or so on rented gear, borrow and jump a 150 and a 170, then decide. Just my 2 Cents as I am also new to the sport. 21. I took my mom with me to the drop zone because I wanted her to loose her worries. (OK, and to make her drop me from her balloon ) She went with me the next two days as well and now thinks about doing the licence herself. Meet you in the sky - if you are in the West of Germany drop me line and we do a jump together. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  22. I guess this one happened to many people... Not just you AND me To defend me: I did not pack it. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  23. Never had a PC in tow mal. I once had a misrouted bridle on a rental gear. On the gear check I was not sure if it was correct or not (2nd trow-out jump) and showed it to my instructor who took the bridle and lifed the whole rig on it and said: "This nearly was your first reserve ride, you owe beer!" 24. Talk about that with your instructors. I had the same problems and learned about how to ajust the leg straps and I am learning about lowering the freefall speed before deployment at the moment. It is getting much better. So why don't you do your course in Teuge as well? Maybe we'll see each other in Teuge some day?
