I recycle. I walk to work. I drive a small car to the dz. I have energy-saving lights. I very rarely use the dryer. I turn off my computer monitors overnight and turn off the machines at the weekend. I do about 300 jumps a year, which makes up for the rest, and then some.

Please keep SC material in SC. Thanks

Probably an FXC 12000J. Quite common on student gear.

Well said.

Side-By-Side:Do you induce a downplane and cut away?

Did you ever write up the jumps you did and your conclusions in a report? -
Nice one

Who jumps at Eloy that was at the WCCP in Vienna? That'll probably answer your question...

So where's the "powerband" in the control stroke on a Sabre2?
bob.dino replied to grue's topic in Gear and Rigging
No argument there. It's just that this talk of "powerbands" and "flare strokes" has always befuddled me. If you can bring the canopy close-ish to the stall, then you can land it. And since you shouldn't be looking at the canopy or your hands when landing - you should be adapting to the motion of the parachute relative to the ground - it doesn't really seem all that relevant to me. However, it's always possible I'm talking absolute rubbish here... -
You're right to be worried. It's a fiendishly devious plot by the Iraqis to eliminate the US Army. They're going to train up loads of skydiving instructors, get them to emigrate to the USA, and murder every soldier that wants to learn to skydive. Then rape their women and salt their fields! Foolish American Satan!! You'll never see this one coming!!! FFS. Grow up a little, wouldya? Apparently you fought in a couple of wars - is approaching the guy and talking to him really that scary?

Hell yeah.

If you are ever in Texas, why don't you ask him; it's Eric Butts. Phoenixlpr is in Finland; I think that's not too likely in the near future.

PM fergs. He's been there and knows the club.

bob.dino replied to grue's topic in Gear and Rigging
Hook it up, jump it, open high, do a couple of practice flares. See how it responds at your wingloading and density altitude. Et Voilà! You now know how to land the canopy correctly. -
First person in NYC to own one, actually. That explains everything.

Matches.

I have the viewing of signatures turned off. Please keep signatures in your sig, so I don't have to see the same thing every time

DoSing an organisation you don't agree with isn't cool. If you don't like 'em, go support someone that will oppose them ethically.

Yep. So you're moving down at a 45 degree angle. A glide angle of 3:1 would have you moving down at an angle of about 18 degrees. Go here. The glide ratio is b:a. Fill those two values in and click "Calculate".

Get up early, ya pussy . Florida working hours are 11pm-7am Sydney. Or just email them... edit: Since it's being sent EMS, you could call Australia Post and ask them. They'll may only have details if it's reached Australia. Note: if the declared value is over AUD $1000 you're probably going to have to take a morning/afternoon off work to head to Clyde to complete customs formalities (ie, give them money). So, if it's overdue it's quite possibly sitting in the customs warehouse...

Any Sony service centre should have spares, or as LeRoy said, eBay will sort you out too.

Paragear have been around for a long time and are one of the biggest gear dealers in the world. Their reputation is pretty decent.
