  1. Yup. After 350 jumps in Australia, the white cells in my canopy were still white. 16 jumps at Perris & they're a muddy brown .
  2. :12:0 Twelve team training jumps. Lots of complicated slot-switchers and generally horrible engineering to make my poor brain hurt. All good . Looking forward to next weekend with a new coach too!
  3. Pretty much every new container is freefly-friendly. Vector3 Talon FS Javelin Odyssey Aerodyne Icon Mirage Wings Infinity etc etc.
  4. As others said, you can get 25% off if you attend one of Brian's courses or if you go through a dealer. For example, Square1 will happily sell you a Lotus or Samurai, even though they're not listed on their website.
  5. Happy Birthday mate. Have one for me, then tell us another story!
  6. You don't jump a pull-out. You jump a throw-away. Two different deployment methods. Search for more religious-flamewar reading on the relative merits of each system than you could ever want.
  7. Nope. Up to a D licence (200 jumps) you must have an AAD. From D to E (500 jumps) you can have either an AAD or RSL. E and above, it's completely up to you.
  8. Some of us have to work for a living .
  9. Nah, you can beat someone up after a good can of UK Stella. Fizzy shite. I've not seen Chang outside South-East Asia, but there's probably a few Thai restaurants in Sydney that stock it.
  10. Alternatively, you could continue to use DVDA2 to master your DVD, then use a dedicated application such as Nero to burn it the created image. You aren't by any chance using Windows 2000, are you? Myself and a friend have been experiencing all sorts of problems with external DVD writers and W2K.
  11. Mais naturellment, Allez les Bleus!
  12. 15sec into the video is when the canopy first appears in frame, and 40sec is when there are no longer any twists in it. Ergo 25sec. But yeah, obviously I can't do maths. It should've been 4,500ft not 5500ft.
  13. ...but not at UK prices. And if you're going to drink Hoegaarden, you must crush a slice of lemon in the bottom of the glass first. Weißbeer rocks
  14. Try the Nigerian-brewed Guinness. In or around 8% .
  15. Budwar Augusteiner Tsing Tao Staropramen (slightly sweeter than Pilsner Urquell) Stella Artois (not the shite brewed in the UK) Peroni Nastro Azzuro (lovely with food) Kronenbourg.
  16. To get an A licence in NSW, Australia, you have to attend a course. Part of that course is a video that shows a number of fatalities. Kinda brings it home to you that this is a serious sport and that it's fairly easy to kill yourself.
  17. It took him 25sec and 5'500ft of altitude to clear that. That's a decent rate of 220ft/sec, or 150mph . That's a fairly graphic demonstration of how fast a highly-loaded elliptical can dive in a spin.... edit: google rocks

    AMTRAK

I've only taken Amtrak from NYC to Boston. The train was a little old, a little slow, but it got me there on time and was a hell of a lot more comfortable than a bus. It was also loads easier than flying. If you want to see real trains, France & Japan have got it going on. I like trains. They're a very civilised way to travel.
  19. You forgot the reason for the paint job .
  20. Check out STA Travel's cover. Last time I checked (in 2003), it covered skydiving and was fairly cheap.
  21. I'll PM you the name & number of a Sydney-based rigger that rents out Cypres's. Usually used for folk who've sent theirs in for a service, but available none the less.
  22. Why not just click on her profile and discover that Silverchic is an Aussie?
  23. Don't get between Clay and his sheep.
