  1. Ah, but that is his specialty, rushmc! He loves manipulating the facts to supoort his bias. As do many, if not most, libs. I'm not in full support of our Prez's policies (as I thought I might be when we elected him), but a liar he isn't.
  2. Nope, not surprised at all, and I don't mind the reaction if it's a reaction to what I actually said and not a reaction to a misrepresentation of what I said. When insecure people feel the slightest bit judged, they'll sometimes put words in your mouth and then attack them (or your spelling)... even if you were only questioning the wisdom or appropriateness of talking publicly about the subject (in this case, private matters like mastUrbation). Some just can't accept a difference of opinion. I said what I wanted to say, and have moved on.
  3. Hey, Deuce, the only thing better than that would be if it happened while I was skydiving... preferably under canopy; that way, I could take my canopy with me. And since I'll probably still be renting my gear from now 'til kingdom-come, maybe I should leave a little change at manifest to help defray the cost. As for the trudging, struggling, and weeping, I hear ya'.
  4. rl: I guess I do have to explain. See if you can follow along: Detailing one's sexual experiences in public cheapens the whole concept of sex. (I don't ask or expect you to agree with me, but I do think you should allow me to express my opinion without acting on your apparent need to prove me wrong by misrepresenting what I said.) And one more thing: I wouldn't point fingers when it comes to spelling until I'd learned to proof-read my own posts first.
  5. Thanks, Lisamarie. Still have coach jumps to do, tho'. (It's the weather that's holding me back now; haven't had a decent day to jump since Oct. 22.) I'm just thankful (ah, something else to be thankful for) that I got that stupid spinning problem from level 4 solved, thanks to Ed Dickinson and the others at Perris Skyventure!!!!!! Never woulda' made it without a tunnel... Happy thanksgiving, Lisamarie.
  6. Looks like sweet potatoes is still a big hit. My grandmother loved to make the sweet potatoes with the brown sugar, PECANS, and big ol' puffy marshmellows melted on top (to a crispy light brown color). The pecans are awesome in it. When I was in Ohio a couple of weeks ago, we ate at a place that served sweet potatoes with caramel sauce. YUM
  7. Most of all? For family that I can share Thanksgiving with. But I'm also thankful that, despite how long it is taking me to get through AFF, I discovered skydiving!
  8. I'm very sorry to hear this news. My prayers, too, are with you and your family.
  9. See my post to "rl." I guess you don't get it either.
  10. #1, Typical. Can't respond to what I actually said, so let's build a strawman. Did I say that people shouldn't masterbate? Did I say that people should only have "beautiful and meaningful sex"? Did I make any rules by which people should "have sex"? (God forbid that we should refer to it as "making love." /sarcasm) I didn't say any of those things. Do I need to diagram my sentences for you so you'll interpret them correctly? #2, It would be so much fun to respond to your other statements, but I don't want to make this about something that I never intended, so I won't. cr
  11. Doesn't anyone keep their sex life private any more? Sex is beautiful and meaningful; you make it seem so frivolous.
  12. Oh, hi Skydivermom! What has been the longest delay you've experienced so far? Long enough to do a practice pull? Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
  13. So the first freefall jump would be about how much of a delay? And, at how much of a delay do instructors begin jumping with their students? Just curious-- how much of a delay is the typical last SL jump? Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
  14. No instructors???? COOL! But where will they be? Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
  15. I never would've understood how true this is unless I tried it myself. NWFlyer is right, though. Visualization almost works like magic. I follow a particular method in DeRosalia's book ("Mental Training for Skydiving...") in which I dim the lights, put on some quiet music, start with some deep breathing to relax myself and focus, and then i first of all, visualize the jump from the viewpoint of an observer (I "watch" myself do the jump); after that, I "get into" the jump and visualize myself doing it. I try to hear the noise of the wind and everything. I do it perfectly. Sometimes I visualize a slight mistake about to happen (like inadvertent turning or something), and I correct it before it gets out of hand, and then continue the dive. It's great; takes 10 minutes... or as long as you want to continue. The cool thing is that (if you've really focused) when you finish, you actually feel like you have practiced a real skydive. It's awesome. Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
  16. It is interesting to me how much time people at dz.com, who don't believe in God, spend talking about Him and how He "doesn't exist." If He "doesn't exist," talk about something else! It's like you think that if you say it enough, it'll come true. And if you can get support from others who believe He doesn't exist, you can *really* make Him go away. Keep trying, tho. Maybe eventually denying Him will anesthetize you.
  17. VERY clever, broken. Don't forget to tell that one to Jesus!
  18. Yes, I believe he exists, in the traditional (biblical) sense. He was created by God as an angel, but he decided he was really hot stuff and could be LIKE GOD. Other angels followed him and they were expelled from God's presence. The major reason I believe he exists is because Jesus Christ said he does. The last time he mentioned satan was shortly before Christ was crucified, when He and his disciples gathered for their last supper together, and Jesus prayed for His disciples. (His prayer is here.) One of the things He asked His Father for was that He would keep them from "the evil one." (I love that whole prayer.) 19. What a joke. $50,000. If Berger had been a republican, the dems would still be outraged, and the New York Slimes would have had it on page 1A every day since it happened. Why do Republicans let them sweep stuff like this under the rug? I'm surprised it even made it to court! Republicans have been shamed into resigning from office for lesser things than this. (My 2¢)
  20. Whoa, just found this on the DrudgeReport: Louisiana disaster plan, pg 13, para 5 , dated 01/00 'The primary means of hurricane evacuation will be personal vehicles. School and municipal buses, government-owned vehicles and vehicles provided by volunteer agencies may be used to provide transportation for individuals who lack transportation and require assistance in evacuating'... 21. A good constructionist Chief Justice. I wonder whom he would have chosen to replace him... Scalia maybe? Blessings on his family. Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
  22. I wonder how many people who said "We have no way out" could've been evacuated if the mayor or governor had sent these up and down NO's streets last Sat. or Sun. There were many ways in which people could've saved themselves from the degree of catastrophe they are suffering now. (See attached pic.) Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
  23. By all means, let's be enablers---- make as many people dependent on the almighty government as possible. Don't expect people to take care of themselves, and they won't. This enabling-attitude is so typical of socialist libs. The energy to organize aid ought to be saved for those who really need it: the elderly and sick.
  24. Not exclusively however. It depends on the situation, the opportunity, and it's chance of success, Kallend. This young man LOOKED for a way to help, saw the opportunity to get people to safety, and "went out on one of the skinny branches," and was successful. I say, Way to go, Kiddo. I love well thought out initiative from regular people. The minors on the bus will remember that guy and hopefully emulate his initiative and leadership in times to come. Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
  25. Exactly. After the mandatory evacuation, they should've filled every school and city transit bus and gotten the hell out of dodge. Did you see where that young man took (well, borrowed) a school bus (I think they said the keys were inside, so he just started it up) in new Orleans and loaded it up with people and drove it to Houston? He'd never driven a bus before. (If anyone has better info on this, feel free to set the record straight. I came in late on that report, but I think I got the gist of it.) Individual responsibility and initiative. Don't wait for the state to save your butt; save it yourself. Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
