Yeah, that's the price I am trying to beat.

Hmmm......wasn't the girl 14? If it is true then I think that is definitely assault. Not neccessarily, in Iowa, Missouri and South Carolina the age of consent is 14. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

I just got an unexpectedly large financial aid disbursement and decided that an AAD would be a nice investment. However, isnce I am still a college studnet, I am looking for the best price I can get on a Vigil. Also, I would love to have this in time to install it for the MOAB boogie, so I would need to have it in my hands within the next two weeks. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Because I don't WANT a f*cking 'B' license!!!

It never hurts to get extra training, just don't apply for the liscense. I used to get flack for not having liscenses even though I met the requirements. I simply took the test and had my S&TA sign off on my log book that I was A, B and C qualified. Never got flack after that, and every dropzone I've been to have honored his sign-off once it was verified. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." -
1st Annual M.O.A.B. Boogie! Mother Of All Boogies

It might be a tad bit expensive, but if you can get your ticket changed to Durango, Colorado, you'd be more than welcome to ride up with us. It's just over three hours from here. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." -
Another major difference is that with a totally internal PC, all the reserve PC fabric is in the container. On Jav's, the fabric is a lot more exposed. as it is only covered by the PC top and the bottom flap. Having that exposure makes me a bit nervous, and i am not saying that as a basher, but rather someone who just purchased a new Jav. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

I can only speak from my experince beig raised in OK, but from an early age, we were taught how to read the weather and how to find shelter against tornados, it was a universal thing we heard it at home, church and school. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Wasn't it about a decade ago where they tried this in front of spectators and the load tumbled into the grandstnads? -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

No, but the same pic tells you its obviously fictional. No wet behind the ears LT. is going to be piloting anything experimental or super classified. For those kind of assignments, Lt. Col. is seems to be the minimum rank. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Just remember: Just cause your paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't out to get you.

Back in the day, htat was true, but not so much now. With advanced radar and computers, meteorlogists can give you fro 5-30 minutes warning about a tornado, And honestly, if you knowingly live in tornado alley and don't have valid shelter wihtin about five minutes, then maybe you need to let natural selection take its course. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

King Air confirmed, but if enough people pre-register, that will be swapped out for an otter. As for weight and balence, I honestly don't know but I'm sure that the Skydive Arizona personnel coming with their plane will be more than happy to enlighten us. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Sometiems but not always. If you buy name brand stuff, the quality is no different than you'd get anywhere else. Forgive me if you have, but try studying some university level business and economics. America is now a service rather than industrial society. Though it's a politcal favorite, so far losing industrial jobs has not been a bad thing. For every single industrial job the US loses, it gains more than one service job to replace it. As for not buying in America. That's patently false. Wal-Mart buys from whoever is the cheapest for them. There are plenty of domestic companies that meet that criteria and therefore sell to Wal-Mart. You say that like some thign wrong; however, accumulating wealth is the fundemental purpose of capitalism. If you think the price is unfair, don't buy. If enough people agree with you, the price drops. That's another fundemental truth of the capatilistic theory of supply and demand. Umm no. If you operate on a discount pricing model you don't see "huge" profits. Wal-Mart reaps a large return on their investment by being incredibly aggressive in their efforts to control costs. Actually that's only thier hourly staff. Salaried employees are some among the most well compensated in their occupational field. Relations with their hourly employees has always been Wal-Mart's weak point, no way to deny that. This is a problem that has periodically been excaberrated by a combination of mangaerial incentives and unscrupulous low level managers. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

You're not alone. If I maintain just enough arch for stability, I can slow down to a little over 140. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

NEXT service bulletin Grounded until inspection!

It's also worth pointing out that PAra-gear features the Next in their catalog, and no where on the ad does it say that it's not approved for US operations. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." -
You overlooked the third and most important option. Train for a different job that's in demand. What we are experiencing is nothing more than the birthing pains as the US transitions from an industrial society to a service society. Not a whole lot of consolation for those that are too old to retrain, but that the way it works. "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Actually, I believe that the 182 holds that title by a large, large margin. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Who has the fastest delivery time on a container?
BlindBrick replied to BlindBrick's topic in Gear and Rigging
Ah, now there's one of the rubs. If I am not a student, why should I have to jump student gear? I've made over 130 jumps on three different major brands of student containers and none of them were freefly friendly or even halfway comfortable. Besides that, people tend to make assumptions about you when you jump student gear. I know that sounds silly but I've personally experienced it at FL ,the WFFC ,and other boogies. I know I'm going to get enough comments for flying a 269, even though it's a semi-elliptical loaded just under 1.2, I don't want to aggrevate that by showing up in a student rig. But I am holding my breath right now. I found a non-student container that just needs the legstraps lengthened to fit me perfectly(first time I've seen that in three years of active searching). To top it off, it's never been jumped before. If I can get the dealer's loft to extend the legstraps, I may finally have a decent container. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." -
If I had a customer who jumped that gear after I warned them, I'd send them a certified letter that detailed the issues with the main and explaining that until corr5ective action was taken, I would not perform serive on the rig. That should go a long ways towards covering any liability issues, and might serve as a wake up call for them. You can't stop people from doing dumb things, but you don't have to be an active participant in their stupidity. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."
-
I spent a little time at RWS this summer and unpicked a few rigs. You're right, and it feels so unnatural to be intentionally destructive to any part of a harness, even if it needs replaced.
-
The reason the thought had occurred to me was that I ran into a similar situation before and a MR was wanting several hundred dollars to extend leg straps. If it can be done for under $100 that'd be great, especially if a MR can do it, as the container company is notoriously slow. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."
-
I was shopping aorund online today and, wonders upon wonders, actually found a rig that fits my canopies and almost fits me. I say almost because the legs straps are way too short. However, they have B12's and I was wondering if I could have a MR take another set of B12 hardware and make me a pair of legstrap extensions? I mean, I know I can, but would that count as an accessory or a mod? And if it does count as a mod, would a MR doing void the TSO? -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

unfortunately the Icon doesn't come in my size(269 main, 288 reserve). As a business major I know you go where the money is, it's just really fustrating that with the current trend to tell people to take their time and fly conservative wingloadings, that the gear doens't support it. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."
