  1. Military clubs were great in my military daze. $10 bucks a month dues, $1 a day for the pilots' chow/beer and no charge for gear rental! '82 Ft. Lewis, 83-85 Ft. Bragg (which had 3 clubs plus Raeford on weekdays) Mostly gone except for demo teams as far as I know. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  2. Yep, let's be safe now, ya hear! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  3. If you've thought this hard about it already, there's only one way to really find out. Don't spend the rest of your life wondering ... ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  4. Or better yet, just protect the guilty and screw the statute of limitations! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  5. On a humorous note, when you're traveling with a rig, always call ahead to the DZ you intend to visit. Check to see if there will be a rigger present on the day you intend to visit. Contact him/her and offer him/her a case or two of beer as a retainer in case you need your reserve repacked. It's good planning and a great way to meet people if it's a new DZ for you! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  6. For real?! I would love to do .... oh wait. Let me rephrase this. I would love to watch someone do it and walk away! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  7. Gene Paul from the old daze. Thanks for the pics! Funny story - After jumping at Raeford for a couple of years, I was pretty good at backflips after RW with a very minimal loss of altitude (like 3~5 feet). Hell, after watching all those ground to air live style shots, I should've leaned something! One day Gene Paul was filming an RW jump from the ground and saw me do a backloop at break off. After the jump, we were watching the video out at the van on the DZ (Yep, I mean really parked in the landing area) and Gene Paul asked me if I'd ever thought about doing Style. Sorry, 1985, RW & CRW were my thing. DAMN!! Style coaching back then was free if you jumped there. My Loss. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  8. If you're truly hooked, the money just sorts itself out! Go jump!
  9. You've obviously been jumping with too many big hairy guys. Try getting sandwiched between a couple of the ladies. You'll start singing a different tune. Now, go get a life.... ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!

  11. Good thing they weren't having a skeet shooting competition that day! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  12. Yes, John, just like you I have been forced to read this thread and reply. Is there a way to make the moderator kill this thread as dead, done and beaten to death? Not likely, but it's a nice fantasy. Okay, we now resume your regular threading....
  13. Lost one friend at 2years and lost 2 more in my third year. Too many after that. I keep a memorial page at the front of my logbook. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  14. A few years ago, my girlfriend gave me a slightly oversized fanny pack with a bottle/can holder on each end for when you need your hands free. It works great and holds a six pack of cans or bottles. I've used it for CRW and freefall with no troubles. Nothing like docking 6th and passing cold ones up to the top! Don't you wish the airlines had service like that? ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  15. ----------------------------------------------------------- I just couldn't resist throwing this in. How much time to jump # using/or not using a packer? There are some great flyers out there who make a ga-zillion jumps a year using packers. How well they know their gear can be a matter of serious debate. Have fun, be safe, know your gear and jump your ass off!! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  16. You can turn a brick into a lifting body with enough airspeed. ---------------------------------------------------- Yep, back in the day they called this an F-4 Phantom! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  17. That slick backed hair style is definitely in line with the times. ... of the aircraft I mean. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  18. 28 out of 30, but I went to law school. Most of those questions are covered in 1st year constitutional law. Why do ya think so many lawyers are in politics? ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  19. Hmm, clusterfuck exits comes to mind.... Oh, wait! That happens out of Otters, too. Never mind.
  20. -------------------------------------------- Damn! I couldn't remember the word. Is it a Volpland? ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  21. Now, here's a pussy with some big brass BALLZ!! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  22. Congrats dude!! You've got mega dose of the spirit that keeps us all flying. Keep us posted on your "tweaks" and the results of your test flights. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  23. Here's another one to ponder ... What happens when you cross an insomniac with an agnostic who has dyslexia? You get a person who sits up all night wondering if there really is a Dog. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  24. Hey Amber, Don't forget to be ready for the inevitable questions about fatalities. In the "old" days of skydiving, if you made it past 300 jumps you were "safe." A large percentage of fatalities were low timers. Nowadays, with the advent of AFF, reliable AADs and stricter training programs, most of the fatalities are experienced jumpers making mistakes. I like to say that skydiving isn't for everyone. It would suck if everyone was cool like us! Monday is coming soon...... ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
  25. Yeah I had (and read) a copy but apparently it ended up with my exhusband's stuff rather than mine when I moved out so its long gone and the speech is due Monday. The nearest bookstore that would have it is 50miles away.So I'm screwed there and will have to rely on online sources. ------------------------------------------------------------ I like the part about the ex-husband. Skydiving tends to do that. I'll bet your ex was a non-jumper. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
