No, I disagree with you. There is one major difference between this place and rec.skydiving : PMs. I am as petty as the next person, recently billvon had to put up with my hair-splitting, previously lisa, skymedic, diverdriver etc. have received whiney PMs from me. THAT is the real difference, you don't have to do your bashing and whingeing in the forums. If you've got a problem with something someone said, perhaps PMs are the wiser option. Some people prefer to do their bashing in public and then act all hurt and surprized when their behaviour is found unacceptable. Same as at the DZ, if I screw up and you take me to one side, have a chat and explain what I did wrong, it'll go down a whole lot better than chastizing me in public. So, basically, what I'm saying rgoper is that there are no "privileged few" posting here, just some people that have a bit more common sense and know when to use it. Will

lol, my first rig was an old Vector 1 with a Cruiselite '220 which I was loading at 0.8:1 . I wasn't terribly proud of it or anything, but then Harry Parker told me it was the perfect canopy to practice on if I wanted to do Bridge Day and that Cruiselites were commonly used as BASE canopies in earlier years. Suddenly my old Cruiselite seemed pretty cool to me!

This is an invitation to all South Africans in the UK. On the Bank holiday weekend the end of August (24 -26) I am organizing a South Africa day at Hinton. The high-light will be a South African big way followed by a braai in the evening. A likely date would be Saturday the 24th of August. First I need to know if there is any interest in this. If you are South African (or were born there) and would like to take part, please let me know. Demand will be high since there are quite a lot of saffers jumping in the UK, so slots on the big way will be given on a first come first served basis (to elegible jumpers). When you email me please state whether you have your Cat. 10 (or equivalent) and how many jumps you have. There will also be smaller fun jumps to include those people who are Cat. 8. The big way itself will be organized by one of the experienced local Hinton RW organizers and will be a low-pressure safe, fun dive to accomodate the different skill levels.
