No No, Remi - let them get all excited, that way its MUCH more fun when they screw up. I mean really, all they had to do was beat Nigeria and then they would've faced Senegal in the 2nd round. They couldn't even do that so now they have to play Denmark.... So, England managed to draw matches against Nigeria and Sweden and beat Argentina thanks to the biggest dive in the history of football, wow, gee, I'm really impressed.... Tell you what though, seeing France go out with the worst record for any defending champion EVER gave me a whole lot more pleasure!!

None of that really applies to a hop n pop. The following does : Was it a *true* hop n pop (ie how soon after exit did you deploy?). What are the opening characteristics of your main at your wing-loading? What kind of pack job do you use on your main? I am sure there are other factors, but those are definitely a couple of things to consider before doing a low lob because a sub-terminal opening can be rather slow. Thats one of the things I enjoy about hop n pops, the really soft openings. Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"

Is it correct though that all visiting jumpers to the USA must take out temporary USPA membership when jumping at a USPA affiliated DZ? You are correct of course about not having to join the BPA, but since Oz has a total of 7 jumps and is based in the UK, it might be a good idea to become a member. Hi Oz Your best bet would be to go to the BPA's web-site and find the dropzone most conveniently located. It would probably be a good idea to then call whichever DZ that is, tell them how far you are with your student progression and make sure that they can accomodate you. You'd also have to join the BPA, membership includes 3rd party insurance and the most excellent BPA skydivemag. Hope this is of some help. Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"

So, Remi, what was the final score against URgay? Didn't Denmark beat URgay? Is Denmark now on 4 points and France has to beat them to have any chance of going through (probably on goal difference)? I suppose it would open slower because you are sub-terminal, but then again on a true hop n pop for a canopy to take 800 feet to open would probably take about 15 seconds. I'm guesstimating about 10 seconds for first '1 000 of freefall but then you have to factor in the decelarating effect of the deploying canopy. I'm sure one of the brainiacs (quade, billvon etc.) will be able to figure it out for us a little more precisely. Of course it really depends on whether or not it is a true hop n pop or not.
