  1. Good thing he was wearing a helmet!
  2. Yep, Chuck's right, this isn't Craig posting. My money says it is some lamer that works with Craig, he's probably gone out for lunch and not locked his workstation. Hell, he might not be back for hours!!!
  3. lol, at my DZ in England they are referred to as 'dickhead loads' for pretty much that reason.
  4. Will be at Weston, but good luck for the FS1 dive (and with the weather!). Hope you get your 4 jumps in. Will
  5. Thats my question answered, thanks!
  6. 'Heard'??? Who do you think made the movie???
  7. Ja, its a Parow Pavement special....
  8. Same (never had a brake come unstowed on deployment YET)
  9. Just an update for y'all. I just got an email from PISA, my Heatwave '135 is ready. It took exactly 4 weeks from ordering and Ned had to go to some trouble to get the colours I wanted. I also ordered a 5m length of Burgundy ZP fabric so I could have some tubes made over here. Total price for new custom colour Heatwave '135 and 5m length of ZP? £401 ($616)! Maybe one day I'll be able to justify spending £1 600 on a main, but for the level I am at I believe that this canopy will do just fine! Will
  10. I got the whole dominant eye thing explained to me. My left eye is dominant but I have to mount the ring-sight on the right (no space on left of helmet due to lens protector). Is it really that big a deal that the ringsight be in front of the dominant eye? Will
  11. I jump a Hornet '150 (loaded at 1.3:1), I've made about 290 jumps on it and really like it. I've also jumped a Sabre 135, 150 and 170. My next canopy will be a Heatwave '135 which I am buying directly from PISA. Their customer service rocks. Also, bear in mind PISA manufacture the ZP material that they use, which helps make their prices even more competitive. By the way, where are PD canopies manufactured? Will
  12. Do they restrict the canopy type too? If not, is there no legislation preventing someone with 200 jumps jumping a Crossfire loaded at 1.3:1? What good is a wing-loading restriction if you don't stop people from going elliptical too soon?
  13. Notice how the 'Mark' guy who is organizing it doesn't mention being a skydiver? Don't you think if this was a skydiver's idea he'd go 'hey, I am Joe Bloggs, I jump at Fandango DZ and this is me and my friends' great idea!'? So, are the people organizing this 'Mission Unstoppable global skydiving fund-raising event' skydivers or just whuffos using a novel angle to make a buck???
  14. This MissionUnstoppable thing advertised on the dz.com homepage smells a bit fishy to me. Basically they want people all over the world to buy lots of their crappy T-shirts and then they will give part of the profit to the Red Cross. They appear to be attempting to portray some charity cred by encouraging people to also give money to a charity of their choice. Then check this out, these Mission Unstoppable guys are owned by 'Emo Enterprises'. Go do a search on-line and have a look at what 'Emo Enterprises' main area of business is. I think this is a scam looking to abuse public sentiment re. 11 September 2001. If I am wrong, please flame away, but everything about that cheesy web-site and their cheesy T-shirts looks like a money-making venture to me. Will

    The Vote

I think we should vote on it, but then those who don't probably wouldn't....
  16. Could you please explain/elaborate on this bit.
  17. Yep, they'll waste their whole lives being victims instead of doing something THEMSELVES to improve their OWN lot... It really amazes me, you speak to young black people in South Africa where their people got a raw deal until recently. The one thing they value most is an education, so they can make a better life for themselves. My mom was a physics lecturer who did volunteer teaching work in a coloured high school and also taught a bridging course for black students who weren't quite up to university standards yet. She also personally sponsored two Black girls through school. She was always telling me how hard these students worked and how important getting a good education was to them. This from the people who were disadvantaged by Apartheid in their OWN life-times. These people in America just seem to want everything on a plate and are looking for a hand-out and someone to blame for how shitty they've made their own lives. What a joke! What about the Afrikaners who died in English concentration camps in the Anglo-Boer war, should their descendants be entitled to compensation from the present day British government?? I think not... I was 23 when I first left Africa, I have been to the USA 4 times now - I think maybe a lot of people in the USA don't quite realize the difference in quality of life between the two places. Even your lowest Mcdonald's worker has a WAY better life than most people in Thirld World Countries. Will
  18. LOL at the 4th pic (the washing line)! v. funny!! BTW what did you do to the poor kid to get that shocked expression in the 3rd pic? Did you show him a pic of Clay's boobies??? Will
  19. Yeah, I did both as well (got up to 10 second delay via SL, subsequently did AFF) and I agree with you guys. On a slightly different note, I have noticed that people who did SL are subsequently much more comfortable doing hop n pops. A lot of AFF graduates never seem to do more than the one required (and its not really that low in the first place, '4 500?). I suspect that in an aircraft emergency at '2 000 those who did SL progression might be more confident exiting the plane (purely my opinion of course). Wouldn't it be a good idea if they made a hop n pop from '3 500 (or even '3 000) a requirement for the B or C license? Will
  20. Yep, keep getting the same error too (see attached)
  21. Yeah, must say I have to agree with Eric. A lot of the bad attitude does come from freeflyers. Thing is, with flatflyers it is really easy to gauge skill levels (level of competition competing at, points turned etc.), with freeflying there seem to be a lot of people who have the 'image is everything, skill means nothing' mentality. My freeflying is not that good (yet!), but even I can edit good bits from all my videos, stick them all together and dub a Limp Bizkit choon over the top. The result might make it look like I am good, but obviously I am not. Hell, I used to think Stylies were friggin ridiculous and looked like poncy ballerinas, then I found out that Omar, Olav, Rook Nelson and other top freeflyers were all really top at Freestyle at some stage. Made me look at that discipline in a whole new way. Bottom line : I want to be able to jump with my friends and enjoy myself no matter what we are doing. If that is freeflying, RW, CReW, wingsuits, whatever, one day I'd like to be able to do them all (to varying degrees of proficiency of course). Anybody who only does one discipline and then looks down their noses at other disciplines is a fucking idiot. Will
