Yeah buddy!!! And they done real good when they cracked the Enigma cypher for us!!! Now lets drink a beer and talk about our high school football injuries (loudly). "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"

Yep, scratch, and to put it in even better perspective take a look at the populations of those countries at the time and then look at the proportion of people they lost in the war. Interesting fact that after Britain, New Zealand proportionately lost the most of that generation of men. And tell me, how would America's space programme have done without Von Braun? And how would their nuclear programme have developed without Einstein and friends? While America was experiencing their boom in the '50s, Europe was rebuilding from absolute rubble (assisted of course by some very *generous* loans from Uncle Sam). Sorry if I'm not entirely overcome with gratitude to America for 'winning the war' for us... Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  4. Just got this in an email from an aussie mate : "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"

Ja, I'm not so sure I'm happy with Pretzel Boy anywhere near the red telephone either come to think of it.... Having Ghandi in charge would be kind of like an English Bobby (cop) : 'Stop!! or I'll say Stop again!!!!!' "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  6. Yep, I'll be up (as if I've got anywhere else to go...). The bridge CR used to use for their courses isn't too far from there (I didn't know they had moved) and still in use quite frequently. One of the riggers at Skydance is a very keen BASE jumper (big friendly guy with pony tail - from Montana originally I believe, can't remember his name). They had some nice BASE photos up on the hangar wall when I was there, quite a few of the freeflyers seemed to be into it. I must say it was really nice there the way it was kind of out in the open (to a degree of course), they were quite friendly and you could ask them questions and stuff. In the UK BASE jumpers seem to keep it really quiet on the DZ (I know its illegal in both countries mostly, maybe the BPA just disapproves of it more?) I'd like to try it one day, reckon if I can't do Bridge Day then I might go for a CR course (when I can afford it that is!). Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"

And when the shit hits the fan again and the next Bin-Laden or Hitler comes along I know which of those I'd rather have in charge... Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"

You are right bill, the US needs to stop the terrorism, however I think sending tanks into a refugee camp is terrorism too. What Sharon is doing is wrong, but remember he is military and this is the only way he knows how to deal with problems. I don't think he is a suitable diplomat or leader for Israel (IMHO). If only Rabin was still alive (hmmm, and he was killed by who again???). The terrorism in Palestine and Israel is two way traffic - if you think that Israel is the innocent victim then you are seriously deluding yourself. 9. Hey 3 I jumped at Skydance last year March - lots of freeflyers there with really good mojo! It is in Davis Co., north California (not too far from CR I think). Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"

  11. Hee hee, I like the way you think! Bash the crap out of Gary's camera and then when you know your shit you can buy your own!!! You gonna have a go with his big 3-chip anytime soon? "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  12. Thanks Jo! Do you have your own camera or did you borrow? I've got a PC9 but am still waiting for my Steve Swain FF2 - yeeehaaaa!!! "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  13. :5:3 Made my 200th jump on Saturday. Went for (and got) my FF1 on my 200th!!
  14. True, every one.... "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  15. It was July. We had a go at the SCR thing, didn't make it (I was one of the 6 that got in though!). There was a father/son combo (they had the sewer video business) and some dude from Texas called Chad. Ring a bell? I can check my log book for the exact dates. 16. Phil's buying? Excellent ein San Miguel for moi, por favor monsieur! "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  17. At Hinton it is £30 (US$43). Bear in mind that the BPA (UK) has a 180 day reserve repack cycle. Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  18. Roy Torgierson? I jumped with him and his brother Terry at Naples last year when I picked up my new rig. He is such a nice guy, I will definitely buy from him again. "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  19. LOL, actually Don, skydivers get *beat* in the parking lot at Hinton quite often.... "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  20. You reckon Craig is going to spend the night and get the full Hinton Experience? Should we get the twin back to *entertain* him??? Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  21. Howdy all I read in that Scotty Carbone story on the index page that skydivers can wear closing pin necklaces after their 200th jump. This is the first I have heard of this tradition, I thought people pretty much just bought them whenever they liked. I have also noticed loads of skydivers (non-skydiving) partners wearing necklaces. So, what is the real deal with them - who is *supposed* to wear them and when? Anybody know when skydivers first started wearing them? A bit of background on the necklaces would be quite interesting. Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  22. Craig Last week Tim, Baz, Gus and Steve did a 4-way Birdman jump at Hinton. They will probably be doing some more when you are there, I'm sure they would welcome another Birdman in their flock. Also, there is quite a solid group of freeflyers at Hinton. Steve's jumping his new tube, so forget the RW flatbitch stuff and join us (look away from the light Craig, look away from the light!!). Will PS and the good news is I won't be spotting again!!! PPS ever!!! "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  23. I have just under 200 jumps and have an exit weight of just under 180 pounds. 21 : Manta 288 50 : Cruiselite '220 120 : Hornet '150 Jumped Hornet '170 and Sabre '170 earlier on. Recently jumped a friend's Sabre '135. Downsizing from the Cruiselite '220 to the Hornet '150 was a big step, but bear in mind that I load my Hornet at just under 1.2:1. I'll be staying on my Hornet for at least another 120 -170 jumps and then consider downsizing. Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  24. No shit sherlock, no need to reiterate anything - I just wanted to remind people that the moderators don't get paid (unless they are hard core masochists that is). "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
  25. OK, but bouncers get paid for their services don't they? Hmm, how much are we paying these moderators for their services? *(edited in the interests of global harmony) As for that argument of people agreeing with the moderators just to fit in. Well, if this was www.needlepointforthelimpofwrist.com then maybe, but somehow I don't see that applying to skydivers. My $0.02/£0.01 worth Will "Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
