  1. Oh, another who does not recognize sarcasm "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  2. Actually, it was not directly in response to your comments but sarcasm towards what is often reiterated across the country when subjects such as healthcare, food programs, children programs, veterans unemployed, homeless and the such come about. (I should had removed your name from subject line as I was not directly responding to you.) How I actually feel about it, no sarcasm, I say test only those who show no progress. Test for drugs, test for alcohol. Bring back the welfare to work program. Use American tax dollars in America only. Stop the exportation of our money to other countries such as Saudi Arabia and Israel as well as all other countries. Bring manufacturing back to the US and out of China, Mexico and anyother country that US firms ran to. America and its people need to stand up for America and America only. This country has brought so much upon itself and has very little options but to only look out for itself. We have food programs to feed people overseas but balk at giving food aid to the poor here in the US. We have medicine programs for people with AIDS in Africa but balk at helping those here in the US (believe me, I know this firsthand as I have been denied medication over and over again). This country needs to promote a stricter educational guideline (no more summer vacation and no more passing kids who do not meet the standards) and open more avenues to those in the lower economic structure for higher education (more Pell Grants?). How about establishing free learning centers for those who cannot obtain a Pell Grant? For those disabled there is (thanks to President Clinton) the Ticket to Work program ( http://www.yourtickettowork.com/)(I'm waiting for my paperwork as of now to arrive). I would say that it is safe to assume that the vast majority of people on welfare would wish to be off of it. The same with those on SSDI. The problems that I have encountered is the lack of support and the lack of information that would lead a person down the path to self sufficienty. Dealing with government agencies is enough to make one wish to drink (Your comment; or put the bottle down before posting, my reply; I don't drink). I am probably in the position to be more acquainted with the system, particulary with SSDI, than you are. I do not care for being on SSDI. I do run an embroidery and direct to garment printing business from home. I do pay taxes. I am hoping to go back to school. I am hoping to get back to fulltime employment. I personally believe that many others in my position would like to do the samething. I can't imagine why someone would wish to stay on the bottom. I don't like it. I use to make 50k+ back in the 80's and 90's. Curcumstance changed everything for me as it often does for so many others. To put in place a drug screening program for every person on welfare or any of the other programs would be expensive and most likely be more harmful than helpful for those who need a hand up. So, you kick a family off of welfare because the father or mother came up positive for THC. What then? Do they just dissappear? POOF!!!! No more problem? Would this record of a positive urine follow them and bar them from getting work? What real good would it do? My suggestion is that all who are able body and even those with disability be directed into a back to work program. Those who are not showing progress should then be further evaluated and then directed in a more positive direction. Drug testing should only come about if drug use is clearly shown. Not every person who does poorly is a drug addict. I know drug users you do very well. You would never suspect that these people use coke and pills or even drink heavily. Lumping all welfare receipients into a suspected drug user catagory is not the right thing to do and the outcome could be far more damaging. 3. No I wasn't serious. I don't believe any of that of which I wrote (except for the rent being sent directly to the landlord). It was sarcasm. It does piss me off when I hear of someone on welfare driving a $20-50,000.00 car or taking a vacation to Cancun! As for drug testing? I'd rather have them tested daily for alcohol consumption as alcohol is a far bigger problem amongst welfare receipients. Nicotine is another major problem and why shouldn't they be tested for that as well. Why should my taxes pay for someones beer and cigarettes. If anything testing and monitoring for alcohol should be mandatory. Alcohol, as it is, kills far more people than all of the illegal drugs combine (not including mj as mj is not a deadly drug). Alcohol is responsible for more depression, job loss and family violence. Yup, monitor for alcohol and I am onboard! Alcohol is the most dangerous drug in this country today and to allow those who are in a depressing situation to use this drug is a shame. Throw fucking booze in to the mix and I'll agree to the testing. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  4. How nice that the republicans put an end to the Welfare to Work program. While they're at it they should end everything at this site http://www.acf.hhs.gov/acf_services.html Why should my taxes go to help someones dirty little retarded fucking kid! I didn't fuck the nasty skanky whore and knock her slut ass up! Why should I, as a good American, give a damn about anyone in the USA when there are wars to start and people to kill overseas! I mean, really, to preserve our way of life and to keep up the charade that America is a shinning beacon, it is far better that we give our taxes to terrorist harbouring countries like Pakistan and oil rich countries like Saudi Arabia! It is far more important that we waste billions of dollars and not care about the tools that get their bodies blown apart so that we can keep up the charade that we are fighting "terrorist". Bin laden is just laughing at how stupid americans really are. I mean, really, fuck America and fuck the American people! We are just tools. Better hope these soldiers who have PTSD blow their fucking scrambled brains out because your tax dollars will have to support them. Better push for legislation to have them all castrated so they do not reproduce or else tax dollars will have to support their retards! Best push for legislation to gas all homeless people. Wouldn't it be cheaper and more fun to shove a hose down their throats and turn on the gas than to help them back up the ladder. I mean really, when you are above someone else, isn't it the American way to kick them in the face and back down again! America does not stand up for it's people as a large percentage of Americans are against Americans in general! I mean really, when the Tsumami hit overseas, Americans pooled their money to help and then shoved it in the face of the rest of the world and bbraggged and bragged and bragged about how "generous and caring" that Americans are but, when the hurricane hit the Gulf coast, Americans gave the finger to those people. Americans threaten violence. Americans said "FUCK YOU" to those people. All in all, Americans hate Americans. Face it, you know it is true. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  5. Actually, the intrusiveness of it all sounds more like the wet dream of any party (Dems, Repubs, all the others) backstage puppet handler. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  6. Maybe welfare recepients should also be monitored for alcohol consumption. They should also be monitored to be sure they do not decide to spend that money on doing a possible tandem jump, going to an amusement park, a movie, buying snack food or fastfood or any type of resturuant (They should be given a list of government approved food and any attempt to buy anyother type of food should result in immediate removal from welfare), they shouldn't be allowed to purchase gasoline for their car as they should be required to sell their car before they recieve welfare. They could easily walk or take a bus. They're rent should be deducted from their alloted amount and sent directly to their landlord. They should be strictly prohibited from taking any kind of vacation. There travel (by bus or foot) should be monitored via GPS to be sure that they go no further than to a job interview. They should be taken off welfare if they are know to smoke cigerettes, cigars, pipe or chew tobacco. Their weight should be taken several times a month to be sure that they are not eating more than the government allows for them. They should not be allowed to have a pet of any kind (dog, cat, bird, fish...), They should not be allowed to own a gun, they should not be allowed to hunt, they should not be allowed to go fishing. They should not be allowed cable or satellite T.V.. They should not be allowed internet access nor should they be allowed to own a computer. They should be barred from going to any kind of sport event. In all, they should be denied anything and everything that they might spend welfare dollars on. Uncle Sam should give them a very short list that should only allow them to pay gas, electric, phone, water and government approved food (Ramen Noodles). Why the fuck should tax dollars pay for anything these people get. The government needs to install cameras, GPS monitors and enact mandatory testing for everything they ingest! Wouldn't this form of Nanny State be grand! Just add these things on to mandatory drug testing and WHAMO 1984!!!!!!!!! Knocking at your door! 8. Road gangs have radios with them at all times so they would be well informed if a runaway train was coming their way. If there were a runaway, the dispatcher would merely reroute it by throwing the switches required to put it on a clear rail. As handthrows are locked, chances are one would not have time if a speeding train was looming down on them to unlock and throw the switch. Also, this being a subway, a runaway is highly unlikely as subway units are equipt with a deadman switch. No foot on the switch, the unit does not move. 9. Bret Favre has one helluva GUN that will take them all the way. There, I mentioned the "G" word so, it is now an official SC topic "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  10. Between boob jobs, penile implants and Alzheimer's, we've got horny senior citizens who WANT to get it on but can't remember HOW... They should had took notes, way back when, in sex ed instead of giggling everytime certian words were spoken. I wonder how well they do on the oral exams. "more than half of those aged 57 to 75 said they gave or received oral sex, as did about a third of 75- to 85-year-olds." They just take out their dentures and.... Based on what I read in Bonfire, I reckon this old guy is getting rather more than the average 25y/o skydiver Is it the dentures? Is it the "gums" "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  11. And this is the problem with an effective gun control law. It's impossible to know just who will snap and blow away his/her spouse, children, co-workers, fellow students. Gun law opponets scream that gun laws only take guns out of the "law abiding" citizens hands and does nothing to keep them from criminals where as proponets says that any person can become that criminal, providing they have the gun to shoot someone with. Giving the right circumstances, I'm sure near anyone could "snap" for a brief moment and shoot another person. Anyone who says that they have never briefly entertained the thought of killing someone is probably lying. It's safe to say that most will never go past that thought and actually do it but, there are those who do. According to DoJ statistics most murders are done by those close to you. I would assume that the majority were legal gun owners and not criminals. I would assume that the majority were also everyday normal people who, under the right circumstances, just snapped and went off the deep end. I would also assume that if they didn't have a gun they would had possibly used something else such as a knife or baseball bat. Truth is, those who will kill will kill regardless if they have a gun or not. I do believe that safe guards are needed to pin point the obvious mental cases but, they're not going to catch them all and difinitely not going to weed out those who are fine today but may snap next week under the right circumstances. I think the gun control issue will wage on for years to come and will never be fully resolved. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." 14. Eight fucking time did Billy fucking use the fucking word "Fuck"! Holly fucking curse word Batman, this must be some fucking kind of fucking record. I don't know about everybody else but, fuck, I am fucking tired of having my fucking senses ravaged by the senseless fucking use of that fucking word. 15. Releases › Ron Paul Statement on The New Republic Article Regarding Old Newsletters January 8, 2008 5:28 am EST ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – In response to an article published by The New Republic, Ron Paul issued the following statement: “The quotations in The New Republic article are not mine and do not represent what I believe or have ever believed. I have never uttered such words and denounce such small-minded thoughts. “In fact, I have always agreed with Martin Luther King, Jr. that we should only be concerned with the content of a person's character, not the color of their skin. As I stated on the floor of the U.S. House on April 20, 1999: ‘I rise in great respect for the courage and high ideals of Rosa Parks who stood steadfastly for the rights of individuals against unjust laws and oppressive governmental policies.’ “This story is old news and has been rehashed for over a decade. It's once again being resurrected for obvious political reasons on the day of the New Hampshire primary. “When I was out of Congress and practicing medicine full-time, a newsletter was published under my name that I did not edit. Several writers contributed to the product. For over a decade, I have publically taken moral responsibility for not paying closer attention to what went out under my name.” "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." 16. Seems only fair . . . considering how many people are killing kittens. I can just see a kitten holding a 30-06 and saying, "The only way you'll take my gun is prying it from my cold, dead paws..." Fair enough! Blues, Dave Had I not been wearing my night vision goggles... "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  17. A lot of cops have smoked pot at one time or another and also have family members and friends who smoke. As for cigerettes smelling like weed. Yup, I've smelled that before. Ooooh Ooooh that smell, can't ya smell that smell "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  18. If he is, then that's another reason to vote for him. With cookies like Keeblers, you can't go wrong! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  19. Do you think that Ron Paul would call you a child like insult? I highly doubt that he would. Why do you feel so compelled to do so? "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  20. Watching the debate last night, only one person could give a straight forward answer. Ron Paul. Only one person refrained from attack. Ron Paul. Only one person refused to be condencending. Ron Paul. Sadly, he will not win but, he does have my vote none the less. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  21. So, how much did they have to pay for you to take it back? "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  22. Wrong, parents have failed and sex ed has not done enough. The numbers show that both are at fault for not doing enough. But, consider that people will be people and no amount of information will completely stop the spread. Only an individual using the proper information given can stop the spread. http://www.cdc.gov/nchstp/dstd/Stats_Trends/Stats_and_Trends.htm I have no problem with a parent teaching their children, providing that they give the right information. Most people are not equipt nor properly informed to teach a person about STDs. I am only properly informed due to having lived with HIV for, come february, 13 years. I've gone to a large number of classes and listened to siminars as well as read a vast amount of materiel on the subject. How many people do you know who have done this? Have you taken the time to be properly informed? How many hours have you spent informing yourself? Do you have any background qualifications to teach another about STDs? If not, you're most likely giving out improper information and that is just as dangerous as giving out no information at all. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  23. If most parents knew the facts about STD's and honestly taught their children the facts, then fine, they should teach them. Most parents, most likely, do not know the facts and are not able to teach their children about the many STD's. I don't know you but, I'll near guarantee that you, yourself and many others, know very little about syphylis, gonnorhea and HIV. I am still shocked to the number of people I have met who do not even know what the letters H.I.V. and A.I.D.S. stand for. I, myself, was ignorant of the facts until I contracted HIV. I knew nothing about it. I never even heard of HIV but heard of AIDS and only thought that gay people could catch it. I wasn't aware that AIDS was actually the end stage of HIV. Most people are ignorant about these subjects and have never done intense research on it, therefore they are not equipt to teach anyone, let alone their children, about STD's. What qualifies you to teach anyone about STD's? What research have you done and what are your qualifications concerning the matter? Where have you gone to learn the neccasary subject materiel to be able to correctly inform another person? Are you equipt with subject materiel such as books, visual aids and demonstration equipment? Will you be testing your child to see if he or she as absorbed the materiel? I doubt it. The vast majority of people would give a 5 minute talk that would consist of "Don't have sex and you'll be safe". When the kid comes home pregnant or with an STD it would be the fault of the ill informed parent. The birds and bee talk just doesn't cut it. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  24. Hi Scott, I hope to get a chance soon. As of right now, my cash is tied up in repairing my garment printing equipment. Also, I am selling my house as I just put it on the market today so to move back to St.Louis. Skydiving at this point has taken a backseat. Too many other things have popped up and need far more attention to. Believe me, I would love nothing more than to jump this camera but, business first. 25. Aaron, I just spoke with Pentax, concerning the SR function and the free floating sensor in freefall and was told that even though it was not tested in such condition (understandable) it was tested in other conditions that put it through some extreme shake conditions and that the sensor held firm. I was told that in no way will rapid pressure changes move the sensor as it is held firmly in place magnetically. He also said that there is no reason why I shouldn't use the SR function in freefall as the in body SR is far different than in lens SR.
