  1. Yeah buddy! I have over 1300 Tandems as the "I" and over 200 on the front as the "I-E". I still feel that way! But I cover it up pretty good now that I have gotten proffesional acting lessons. Stick to the check list and eventually you will see you have planty of time for that calming banter, it even helps keep the student cool too! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. 2. And watch for the men in black as they will be right behind ya! Be aware that the new "HC" (burns white) is just as unstable and hot if you ever find your self using that. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  3. Hmm, funny it doesn't do that on any of the computers I open it on. Well at least the email will work. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  4. It is the 4 line check. Lay a canopy on its side (can be done PRO or hung up too). Take the out side lines on the front and rear riser for the side you have up, trace the lines from the canopy to the riser (or vise versa) as lone as you see no twists tha tside is good, flip the canopy and repeat. The nto check the brakes trace from the riser to the tail as long as you only have the brak lines and no suspension lines when you hit fabric you should be good. With experience you can do this every time you pack and not lose any time, I do. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  5. You got a good pair of running shoes and Kevlar Body Armor handy? An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  6. Talk to John here is his Demo Team web page. http://www.teamfastrax.org/demoTeam.aspx He has all the items you mentioned and the contacts for any thing else. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  7. What take it a part barrel by barrel and throw em at the enemy? An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  8. To add to Max's info FCI (Red) will put Zp on the top skin if some one is looking for that material. Plus - FCI (like most of the canopy makers) updates its designs as new things are found out. So a Fury of today may be a bit different from the Fury of 10 years ago. I kind of wish I had a Sentry for some of my jumps at the end of the day when my old ass gets tired and would like to slow down a bit. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. 9. Demo as many as you can from not only PD but ALL the makers out there. There are some great canopies from others who we don't hear to much about since they don't have a Factory Team or Mega Marketing Machine working for them, I.E. Flight Concepts and its Sentry series would be a good fit at the 145/150~ size (in comparison to the 150 your already jumping and the others your looking at). 10. Funny trip into history. I wondered why I had not seen that one before and then re-looked at the date, doh. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  11. Depending on the static line method used, type of canopy and packing methos, will dictate how far you fall till the canopy is fully open. But as soon as you leave the plane the deployement process is going on. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  12. I drive 4 and a quarter hours one way nearly every weekend to get there. Awesome people, great equipment and facilities. You can't go wrong there if that is where you choose to go. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  13. Startskydiving.com in Ohio has Balloons almost every weekend, usually just for rides, but the Balloonists say they will take jumpers any time it is conditionally right. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  14. Yes Greg is extremly funny. If the Army and Skydiving thing doesn't work out he can do stand up! An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  15. This is cool to see! I wish the stuff I helped produce was ours to post. You would see a lot of the Military Demo Teams on youtube and the news! Big Mike went through the FJC about 3 months ahead of me on the Silver Wings. When he got his tandem Rating I remember riding the front a few times to help get him the numbers to pass the probation period. Of course you don't want to know what Greg used to think of swoopers! It is good to see them all doing so well! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  16. www.startskydiving.com in Lebanon Ohio has AFF Students as young as 16 with a notorized parental consent. Go to the web page and schedule with them. http://www.startskydiving.com/General-Information/Skydiving-School.html Half way down at the AFF pic. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. 19. Very well said Mike! And for those who may not know him, Mike speaks the truth on how he conducts himself. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  20. IF the closing loop breaks then yes it could happen. IF the drogues safety pin is not seated properly then yes it could happen. If the TI doesn't do a gear check it can happen. If maintenance is being done and the basic safety checks are being done it is reduced to a fraction of what has happened in the past. SIGMA's hands down are the top system out there, maybe there are lighter, easier to pack, etc, but none designed safer. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. 22. Radio announced he lost his balloon today. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  23. As Bill designed it, the container can not open till the Drogue "is set". This design does do away with the open container and drogue still in tow scenario. It also keeps one set of EP's and or bail out proccedures for A/C emergancies as well, which hope fully reduces potentially fatal confusion. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  24. 0:20:0 Fun all weekend long at the Thank You Foundation Boogie! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  25. Who knows who "tit" is but you said "clam" in your previous post! I think you two have some thing else on your mind. The jump seemed to go of pretty well. It was cool pointing out Kings Island to the students and saying "that is where the record jump is happening right now!" And the driver of the tram had the live radio feed on so we could listen to all the pre-jump excitement as we headed to and from the landing area. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety.
