3 people running Good luck! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I do not have one but I have seen a couple of different versions. Basically the Slider has a quick release set up and usually just leaves behind the rings once removed. Attached to the slider via a line of some sort is the d-bag and of course the pilot chute to the bag. One of the PRO Swoopers of CPC Pilots can probably post a pic of the set up they have, maybe try the swoopers forum. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Removable Deployment System Most of the dedicated Swoopers have a system that once the canopy id open they can remove the slider, D-bag and Pilto Chute assembly. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Can you help me out then? I work for the AFRTS Contractor and we have to put actors in the uniforms, we don't have the phase in like the actual service (I miss being able to ignore the rule for a while and then when the rush is over get my pick) . Please e-mail me at mattcline@filmhouse.com The web page is www.filmhouse.com click on th Government link to see what it is we do. Thank You for Your Service! Actually the New Service Uniform is at Great Lakes and California according to the NEX HQ and NAVADMIN 004/08. The New Working Uniform is delayed but rolling in about 8 weeks according to the same NAVADMIN. I already got the PFU but need the Service Uniform. Some of the local recruiters got the uniform in thier travels and that is why I am asking here since we have so many Military in the community. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Usually I am a bit of a novelist for the first few jumps (up to the Cat D). Once we move on passed the Cat "D", I have them write thier commnets first, I do explain to them that we will be doing this so as not to catch them off guard. I also will go to the next instructor they are to jump with, or if I don't know who that is the S&TA and Chief Instructor, to pass on my impressions and what I saw as weekness' and streangth's. I figure that way no one is left guessing "What the Hell did Matt mean here?" I do not have the neatest hand writing but do try to slow down and make it "deciferable". The orange or red is to denote the "Cherry" jumper who is making his first jump since Airborne School and even some units bring them back out for first Helo Jump. Max, Thay had better have been NO LOWER than 1500' AGL. I know the guy that used to run that Course and was on the PDT and that was what he said . When "DOC" gets back ina week or two make sure the new 1SG has him wear his "Cherry" suit too! Nice pics btw. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Skydiving, beer and depression
matthewcline replied to Melt16's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well, I would have said it was some thing to do with the crash you feel after the rush you feel, but that may have only applied to the day you skydived, unless when player cards you get the same rush. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -

As I am not a PD employee you'll have to ask them. support@performancedesigns.com Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

It depends on the canopy. If I recal most of the PD canopies have the ring in the middle of the attachmnet point. Others like Flight Concepts have it at the end (if the yhave one some models do not). Agian it was so we would not damage the canopies top skin. You may not find a reason now if your using a kill line and/or an RDS. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. -
It is the same as what billvon said. Sounds like you do not need it as your using an RDS and do not pull the attchment point toward a d-bag gromet. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
-
Been answered. But it sounds like for your current canopy it is not needed and an out dated item. if it is not attaching any thing (RDS removes this need) remove it. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Is one of the pre-quals to already have the EFMB? or the CFMB? Good luck! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Was it that complicated due to the tech available at the time? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Was that a dual ADD set up or a Main ADD set up? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

On some of the canopies this was in the design before the kill lines became so poluar and the metal ring kept us from pulling the top skin through the d-bags gromet maybe causing damage during deployment. On others the ring is used to attach the small link for the kill line designed pilot chute. I would venture if the ring is in the middle of the bridle attachment point it is the first point and if at the end it is the second (but it would work the same for the first point) . Former US President G.H.W. Bush used this set up when he did his AFF jump with Andy Serrano and Chris Needles a few years ago. IIRC - He had an FXC on his ripcord main and a Student Cypress on his reserve. The main was set at 3500' and the Student Cypress as per factory setting. Parachutist had an article on it when they did the jump and there may be some info in a historical web file some where. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety.
