OK... bridesmaids dresses can be kinda neat, but what does it mean?
-
Max as you can see by the survey, opinions rarely change. Those that didn't like him prior to the election, still distrust him. Those that did like, still adore him. Not to surprised by it.

Finally a post worth my 10,000 post. Thanks!! You're welcome. I'm honored. And you aren't mad. What's up with that? And no, it wasn't referring to you. What the fuck do you mean it wasn't about me???? I think that he was talking about Skymama... but just didn't want to be banned. [please note... that was dry sardonic humor.... please don't ban me!!! See... it's funny cuz you're not really obnoxious... have I mentioned "please don't ban me"]

So if lucky is not getting lucky, who is getting lucky?

Sorry to hear. But I was QUITE amused by Lawrockets comments There's more options out there... and even if any of those don't work, just remember that you're pretty awesome all by yourself!!! (I've got picture proof of that!)

Anyone Have a good Idea why ths is Occurring? (Medical)
kbordson replied to warpedskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
This sounds logical, I do not know how they determined that there was no clot, I did not get a doppler. I was told they did a blood test and that was negative? I am unaware there was a blood test for clots/blockage. I do however wonder if there is a possiblity that the large nodule produced by the tear of the Achilles is putting pressure on a vein or a few of them. Although I am 25lbs overweight I would not consider that obesity, nor do I present in both legs. The onset of this coupled with the injury is quite telling that there must be some sort of involvement. If they didn't do a doppler, they really SHOULD do a doppler to really rule out a DVT. I don't think that a blood test can definitively tell you "NO, you do NOT have a DVT." Call to get it done SOONER THAN THE 6WKS!!!! (In fact, I would get it done in this next week before the holiday weekend!) -

Since you've already ruled out the DVT (deep vein thrombosis), which is the MAJOR medical concern, looking at other options comes next... which is what you're wondering I tried to attach an article titled "Approach to Leg Edema of Unclear Etiology" from -
Happy Birthday!!!! I hope that your weekend count reflects highly on the jumps: humps : beer!!!!!

Yup. That's why we're tough. As far as the ACL and the Ankle and the Hip.... just consider yourself a Frankenstein version of a Terminator.... at least that's how I humor myself with the spare parts that I'm going to end up with. Good luck with the surgery. And I hope you have GREAT luck with the PT. note of advice: ASK ABOUT PT IN THE POOL! Hydrotherapy/ Water PT makes you feel so much better (physically, emotionally, psychologically) - once cleared from surgery, of course.

Ya know.... I don't think that I would be too surprised by that.

So I don't deserve to get paid for what I do? I assume you work for free too right? Not just you being selfish and part of the problem. Who else can we blame? Nurses should work free - Florence Nightengale probably did. Lab is now free. EDTA tubes are being handed out like candy. Antibiotics... hell... just use fungus - doesn't matter if it's penicillin or candidia, does it? XRays... those are free from the sun. Why is health care charging for that? And isn't ultrasound a free frequency too? Janitorial services doesn't need to get paid, just get more candy stripers (funny thing is, I haven't seen candy stripers in years) Who needs security? It's not like anyone ever fakes an injury to try to get out of jail time by using the hospital to escape.

It was a great day! Thanks to everyone! I was on call last night. I did a wonderful delivery yesterday, but none after midnight, so no lil babes wanted to share my b-day with me today... but that's ok. Cuz I actually got to sleep between midnight and 3:30am!! Then I got to go back to sleep til 5am... when I had to get up and take care of business.... I spent the day spoiling my mom!! (and she was spoiling me by making me cookies!!!!!!! ) She declined on the skydiving option, but ... it was a wonderful day.

Lisa.... YOURS was honestly an acute onset severe problem. I told you to get it XRayed when you first called me that you thought you broke it. We also discussed more cost effect measures. But... with a broken bone, it would have been hard for someone with out insurance to have gone to the cheaper options. Cuz they don't HAVE to take you, but the ER does..... And as far as the bill.... you know what I think about that, so nuff said there.
-
Happy Birthday!!! (so.... rumors of a banning? Not you?!! )
-
AWWWWWW. Lisa, you are so udderly wonderful!! What a Moooooving thread.
-
CONGRATULATIONS ON GOING HOME!!! (I hope you don't have lots of stairs... those are good for PT... but suck when you have to get to the bathroom NOW! ) Have a quick recovery!!

Guys: Does a strong, independent woman scare you?
kbordson replied to iluvtofly's topic in The Bonfire
This is shocking: How well their motorcycle is running effects their emotions? Of course, silly. I get all sad when my Harley isn't giving that beautiful deep noise that she moans so well. -

I don't know if I'm the only one or the only honest one - but the answer to that question varies. It depends on what part of my life you're asking about: work, family, social, love. Work - fairly independent, but not so arrogant that I won't ask for a second opinion when I have concerns. Family - VERY INDEPENDENT. I will give help to them but RARELY require my mom or sisters to sacrifice for my sake. Social - rather independent, but willing to be flexible on plans. Love - I'd like to consider that INTERdependent It depends on other factors ongoing at that time. It depends on sleep/diet/general health/ and yes... even cycle timing. (Yes, a woman is saying that cycle timing DOES matter... there ARE times that you feel less emotionally strong) I made it through medical school and residency. I've proven myself on written and oral boards. I skydive. I have a Harley... but I still cry and appreciate a shoulder when it feels like the world is against me. Most of the time, I consider myself to be rather strong and independent, but honestly, there are times that I'm sure that I'm thought of as too clingy or needy. CAN I stand on my own? HELL YEAH. Doesn't mean that I don't want someone standing next to me holding my hand sometimes. And ya know what? Guys are the same too. They just are conditioned not to admit it. -
Very valid points. I think back to political speeches from almost 50 years ago. I'm just curious as to what the present population thinks. Are the current beliefs of the people - "I should be taken care of", that they are "owed" something, that they can take without giving. Or do people still think to contribute to society? I've just been having some internal conflict with wanting to help but still experiencing a level of disappointment with those that don't. * What do I "deserve"? Not a damn thing. Not a dollar. Not a "thank you." Not a thing. I would like to have what I work for... I enjoy acts of kindness... I am appreciative for the freedom that I have been given. What do others "deserve"? I haven't figured that out yet.
-
Just wondering over this past weekend about what people think that they "deserve"? Do you have rights to "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness"? Do you "deserve" three hots and a cot? Do you "get what you pay for" or "caveat emptor"? Are you entitled to "R.E.S.P.E.C.T."? What do you think that you are "owed" for existing in this universe/ world/ Country? Should you be able to move back in with Mom and Dad at 35 - you didn't "ask" to be born after all. Or should you be taking care of them and having them move in with you at that time - as they took care of you from pre-birth to 18... it's would only be "fair." Now... what do others "deserve"?

The question is... how horny would you be without the Mt Dew?!
-
Potassium Bromide was rumored to decrease sexual desire... some think that is just an urban myth. Where do you get bromide? well... it's all over the place. Brominated Vegetable Oil is a common food additive in ... Mt Dew, Gatorade, and other drinks.

Happy Birthday!!! Lots of change this year, I hope it brings you a WONDERFUL adventure.

Obama: It's OK to borrow to pay for health care
kbordson replied to bodypilot90's topic in Speakers Corner
But you're fighting the "one person" that you're really trying to help. I don't want to FIGHT my patients. I want to be able to help them, educate them, enable them to make informed decisions... while understanding risks. An analogy would be someone wanting to make a skydive... but lets make it REALLY IMPORTANT skydive... one where if they don't get it, they might (or might not) die. So you try to tell them about the risks of skydiving. RISKS?! If you're a good tandem instructor, your passenger wont die, right? And if something does happen, not only might you loose your rating, but your gear and your house and savings... but you wont be loosing your student loans. Ya know... I just want to help people.
