  1. And no Goobers! But... I'm wondering why adrenalinejunke.... sweet Dangle.... hasn't posted agian. Maybe (*gasp*) he's on a date with a "sky hotti" .... OK. maybe not. K.
  2. (mummbling.... now you're spitting popcorn.) [Leaves to go and get yet another tub of popcorn]
  3. Hey! I didn't spit on YOU... and the one that I did actually enjoyed it.
  4. I know... and I was trying to be good and sit there but I like to play too much to just sit in the chair and munch on the popcorn..... I wanna play and munch on the popcorn!!! Karen
  5. You've got to be kidding! "Completely irrelevant"?! Skydiving is amazing and I wouldn't want to ever give up that aspect of my life, but I was a whuffo once (grabs a handful of popcorn from Bobbie) and had someone thought that of me, would I have been encouraged to make my first tandem? You were once a whuffo.... yes, you might have (munching) different priorities now. But your opinion prior to your first jump was still a valid one. As far as the first poster.... "Wuffos" can be supportive or not of skydiving (grabbing some more popcorn), but true soul mates don't care about sports and hobbies.... love is deeper than recreational activities. If all your looking for is the "best piece of ass" or the easiest lay then you might be valid in complaining in what your options are in sky-chicas. We tend to know what we want and have the personality to take it. If you're not what they want.... why should they settle... just down the line from you is a skygod that is cuter, has more jumps, a smaller canopy and better popcorn. Now excuse me, I have to go and get more popcorn. Karen
  6. (whipers) SSSSHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Don't ruin the fun!
  7. .... [leans over and whispers] I wonder if he's going to say anything more ignorant.
  8. I'll pull up a chair here too. Karen
  9. Funny story with my 12 year old nephew about cheeseburgers. The last two weeks, I had kidnapped the young sir that is my nephew and for this part of the tale we were in NYC. He ordered a cheeseburger with ketchup only... then was quite dissappointed when it came out with cheese on it cuz he ordered it with "ketchup only." So I didn't know really what to do here, I tried not to laugh and asked the waitress if she could take it back to heat up the cheese and scrape it off. Keith and I then discussed about ordering and how if they bring you what you ask for, you shouldn't really send it back.... So it was just kindof a cute story that I wanted to share.....
  10. Cool! It's wonderful that age is not limiting her hobbies and sports! If I live that long, I hope that I have that spirit of life.
  11. Don't get the iQue. I took her on my trip to the East Coast and she died in NYC while leading me through Manhattan .... I was not amused. It's one thing for Hal to die... but while I'm in the center of the City?! Get this one Karen
  12. My first two jumps were tandem.... and I kinda wanted to to do a couple more, but that was more because my tandem instructor was just that good. Being strapped to him was NOT a bad experience.... but he convinced me that I was on top of it enough to do AFF and didn't need him there. (sigh) But looking back... I enjoyed my first solo turn even more than looking at him, so in the end, he was right. Karen
  13. I am personally facinated by the precision of the dissection and the anatomy... but I still feel for the soul of the person that once inhabited the body. Karen
  14. Already posted..... just gotta be clever enough to know where. k.
  15. Ummmm.... interesting argument. But Pirates, of course. (I will at some point grow up to be a pirate - someday.) Karen
  16. I had the honor of jumping with him a couple of times. He was and will be remembered as a great man and will be missed. Karen
  17. Agreed. There's a lot that western medicine doesn't know and pills don't fix it all. This site on Alternative Medicine has a lot of info on what alternative medicine is and resources. Karen
  18. More ethical, possibly not. Smarter, not necessarily. Better, absolutely not. More educated on the specific disease or ailment, yes.... but just having that knowledge is not really their job either. A physicians responsiblity is not to make the patient "better," rather to educate the patient on how to make themselve better. Dr's shouldn't be making the decisions, or the plans.... They should be teaching the patient about his/her disease and then with that knowledge, the patient should decide for him/herself about the future plan of care. But it doesn't always happen that way. Doctors aren't Gods. Yes, some might act that way... but don't some Skygods act that way as well. I think it's more of a personality thing than a career thing.
  19. Again, I have to make some corrections. The biggest offers on contracts that I had was from the remote areas. If you agree to go to the middle of nowhere and committ to a certain time... big money there. But big cities, tend to make less but more resources and better support. So my choice was not about the money at all. I think you just might be too suspicious of doctors. Especially since you made no comment on the comparison of other fields with high debts.
  20. I so incredibly take offense with that statement. Why would you look at someones school debt to make assumptions on their character?! Why think "He/She owes a lot of money so thus He/She must be corrupt." And does this bias only apply to Physicians? What about someone that went to Julliard and spent 24 thousand a year. Or how about a friend of mine who has multiple student loans but no degree because she couldn't decide on a major. Does she qualify for your contempt? Not all Dr.s spend the 4yrs of undergrad, 4 years of Medical School and then 3-7+yrs of residency just for the sake of making money. There are much easier ways to do that! You have typically replied very intelligently to other posts so I will try to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that the above was an off the cuff comment. But I still feel it was callous and incorrect. Actually... you're a bit off base here too. Many medical schools are now teaching a more holistic view of medicine. And... if you want a physician that was trained to focus on that, then the Osteopathic view of medicine might be more in line with your beliefs. In the US there are two types of "Dr."s: Allopathic (MDs) and Osteopathic (DOs). Both have exact same practice rights and same basic education. DOs tend to focus more on the whole person mentality though and tend to go into more primary care fields (general practicioners, internal medicine, family practice) But that being said, many of the Allopathic schools are teaching holistic care as well. The "enemy," if you must find one, is the limit of time. If you need to see so many patients in such a time... then it's most convient to treat the problem that brought you in that visit. The only reason we charged anyone in Guatemala was because the local provider wanted the people to have some ownership to their care. If they truly couldn't pay... they weren't turned away. Now in the US... there's
  21. Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress in this period in history. [end hijack] Sexy? Me? maybe sometimes... when I wanna be. Mostly not so much. (makeup sucks)

    Stop...

    A1A Beachfront Avenue!
  23. Sad-happy movies (Second Hand Lions and maybe even cried a little during Wicked) Emotion filled songs (I still get goose bumps when I listen to and think about the Star Spangled Banner) Having to say the words "Time of Death:" I try hard to be stoic and strong... but easily get goose bumps and maybe loose a tear or two. Although I can act the part of a good poker player.. I don't think that I could play with friends that knew me well. k.
  24. Girl next door. Type of face that many seem to recognize as someone that they know.... maybe someone from high school or sometime in their past, but just can't place it. But.... if I try, I can look a bit like Dana Delaney
  25. What a sad event. Thoughts and comfort to friends and family. Karen
