Michele, As much as I might trust AggieDave and some of the cops that I know here to come and take a look/report.... I just want to warn you. You might get a "comforting" pat on the head and false placations. About 5 years back, I was home alone except for my cats. It was about 2:30 am. I heard some noises outside the house near the bedroom window. Rustling in the dry leaves, footsteps (yes I could hear them... the insulation sucked and the windows weren't that sealed). I heard them move from one window to the next. Very distinct steps. Stopped at the windows. At this point, my cats were now GONE! (brave souls ) I thought.... 1911 or 911. Since I didn't have my contacts in - I figured 911 would be the better of the two options and getting the gun out as a last resort. (then the internal conflict of where do I shoot him/her, do I try to rescis.? ect) Called 911 - she sent the cops. It took them about 5 min. In that time, I yelled out that I had called the cops and that "you better just leave now." Cops showed up. Did a sweep around the yard. Told me "It's ok, sweety, there's no one here." (Swear to GOD!!) In the morning, I did my own inspection of the yard. On the back window, there was a clear circle on the dirty pane as if someone had rubbed it with his/her hand to look in. I was NOT amused! Don't be surprised if you get "reassured" or talked down to. Just get a record of your concerns. And then get someone you trust to come and take a look at how to make things more secure (the sharp plants are a good idea, bars, lock, cameras, a dog.... lots of options.) Don't just let it keep going. Cuz it sound like if it is a predator, he/she is becoming more bold. Good Luck Karen

Interesting topic. I've tried to reply to this twice now. It's hard to really express my thoughts on this topic but I will try. The first comment that I will make is that KNOWLEDGE is neither good nor evil. How it is obtained and its application can be - but not the knowledge itself. Genetics - I find it facinating. So much information, so compact, so "unchangeable" yet dynamic... Mendel was an inspiration to those who study details. Watson, Crick, Franklin and Wilkins were true geniuses. "Stem Cell Research" -Basic question... What does this gene do? What CAN this gene do? Why use pluripotent cell? Because once the cell differentiates then certain alleles are switched off. How do we turn them back on? What signals them to deactivate? We don't know near as much as we would like to... Should we use a fetus or embryonic? I believe No. I personally don't know when the spirit becomes a person, but I would not want to experiment on a soul that should be treated with respect. What can be used? Can we use fetal cells or embryonic cells? Yes. This might seem like a contradiction or even splitting hairs... but you can do a cell reduction of an embryo and not have any noted defect in the outcome of the fetus/child/person. This has been preformed for many years in reproductive endocrinology clinics. It allow the doctor to examine the chromosomes of an embryo to determine if it has any genetic defect that the parents are trying to prevent. So, with the frozen embryos, the ones destined to be destroyed.... one of the cells could be harvested from those without impacting the whole. Additionally there have been some undifferentiated cells found in umbilical blood. Adult stem cell research has some merit, but the debates seem to vary about how far this research can go. I think stem cell research is important. I think the knowledge will greatly impact medicine in the next 20-30 years.... but the ethics surrounding it will have to be decided. Finally - I found that this site goes over the time frames of stem cell research.

Just talk with your neurologist. There are sometimes legal restrictions on permanent lobotimation. Some patients have to sign a title 69, which states that they won't suffer any intellectual harm from this procedure (don't worry... you wont) And there are issues of possible future cerebral growth despite procedure. Personally, I feel that if an ADULT decides that he/she does or does not want to have a connection to the frontal lobe, that's a choice that he/she should be allowed to make. You can choose to go into the military, you can choose to have plastic surgery, you can decide on tatoos and piercings.... You should be able to decide whether you want to rely on those frontal cortex urges. However... that being said.... have you tried medical management of your problem? Surgery should be the last resort.

Medicaid patients have to sign a title 19 which required that they be over 21 or Medicaid will NOT pay for their tubal. (but you're 22, so shouldn't be a block) There are issues of regret and possible future desires especially if under 30 years old. (but since you've put some on ice, that shouldn't matter) Personally, I feel that if an ADULT decides that he/she does or does not want to have children, that's a choice that he/she should be allowed to make. You can choose to go into the military, you can choose to have plastic surgery, you can decide on tatoos and piercings.... You should be able to decide whether you want to have children or not. However... that being said.... I have talked some ladies in their early 20's into the IUD as a method of contraception. Mainly cuz it's as effective, less risk (no surgery) and reversible.
