  1. BUT by my reading, there was a division in the rights granted by that document. Prove to me which ones the U.S. agreed to.
  2. It's my understanding that there were TWO separate types of "rights" in that declaration. source and for those that don't like wiki source

    The Rain

I love having my face kissed by raindrops! One of my favorite memories is watching the fireworks at Epcot in the rain.
  4. Taking a half hour nap on the kitchen floor on a slow Sunday afternoon - the sun shining in from the porch, curled in a wonderful down comforter. Being able to help friends and family (even when not really wanting to send the money)
  5. I've been chatting with him and trying to help him see SOMETHING nice about the "Now." But others reminding him would be good too!! Love... relationships.... we've all had times of horrible pain.
  6. Dearest Shah (you being the only Shah that I know) I have this friend. She is REALLY trying hard to get a date with a Skygod, or even just a Skydemigod, but is having a hard time doing so. She's smart, and has a GREAT personality... but she's wondering what else she could do. She was thinking about posting nude pictures on this site to try to help her cause, but she isn't a size 6 nor is she under 35 years old and so doesn't want to offend those with more delicate tastes. What is this poor lonely woman to do? Signed A Caring Friend.
  7. Didn't say any of that - just said you were wrong. Insurance company denied insurance, they were publicly called-out, they reversed their policy, and said it was a problem with their underwriting policy. That's about as black and white as you can get. If the couple had lied about something, the insurance co would have stated that as a defense. If they had selected an incorrect policy, they probably would have said something about that too. They didn't. Sure, and Obama might really be a Muslim. Changing their policy does NOT make them any more "wrong" or the family "right" than a defense team agreeing to a settlement instead of going to court. It does NOT prove guilt OR innocence. They might have decided that it's better for public relations to try to stop this public trial (without a fair chance of "winning") And personally, I don't care if President Obama practices Wiccan beliefs. It has nothing to do with this topic. But if you feel that him being Christian or Muslim in any way influences a persons insurance issues in Denver.... believe what you wish.
  8. So... people NEVER lie? People never want more than they "deserve"? Only corporations are "greedy"? And what would be wrong with having one standard criterion? Wouldn't that be "fair"? It limit discrimination and help prevent subjective interpretation of "health." Granted one could argue... "but this was a 'healthy' baby"... so where would you put the cutoff for the 95% - 18years old? 12 years old? 12mos of age? (and for the record - the article that you quoted didn't say what policy they were trying to sign up for, so they might have been trying to get the SOLO coverage... and that policy had "x" criteria.... but they could have opted for policy "y" which would have different criterion, but it just cost "this much" more) edit to correct the formatting
  9. "An Adventure - my story of love, friendships and challenges" (but that sounds kinda boring) How about: "I'll do what I want." My husband thinks his should be "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: All of this and I still get to die. A love story." A good friend of mine is actually writing a book that he is titling "White Trashes Garbage."
  10. I went to the Rocky Mountain Health Plans website and am guessing that the parents were looking to get a SOLO option for coverage of children. They want to shop around for the cheapest product... but then raise hell and stomp when they are not allowed to buy what they want. The reason that plan is probably called "SOLO" is because they target their audience to keep expenses low and thus the costs of insurance low. They don't want any suits for discrimination so they make the requirements completely across the board and no exceptions. Does it suck for them? HELL YEAH! But this is kinda like bitching about wanting safe driver rates with accidents and speeding tickets in your history. AND... drivers insurance is mandatory, so you're stuck going to one of those stupidly expensive ones.
  11. This thread just reminds me of the Friends episode.... come on, I'm sure someone else was wondering if he was paying extra for the "cupping"
  12. So official reports are always the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? Bridge for sale! Yeah... and there's a study out there that says carrying a gun increases risk of getting shot and killed. But... guess what? People lie. I'd be wary of making that specific claim in a public forum if I were you. You are saying certain research workers are liars. All I claim is that "official reports" are not always truthful when someone or some organization has something to cover up. So you feel more comfortable implicating someone of a intentional cover up on an official government document on a public forum? I think that "claim" could have more of an impact on someones life than showing that the final conclusions of a study were not as accurate nor as well supported as was claimed.

    Da Weasel!

Worthless post without pictures! I'll send you a pm later. I can't figure out how to get the pictures on the camera to load to the computer. (insert vacant smile and lil giggle)

    Da Weasel!

Wild Weasel??? I do not think it means what you think it means. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Weasel Wild weasel... wicked weasel Average males... average females. (or.... I kinda messed up. Remember, I'm a girl. so I can either be pretty OR smart. Today is my day to be pretty )
  15. So official reports are always the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? Bridge for sale! Yeah... and there's a study out there that says carrying a gun increases risk of getting shot and killed. But... guess what? People lie.

    Da Weasel!

I know that you've only been here a few months... But do you really think that these guys didn't know about Wild Weasel? Shah... they've been there and back.
  17. HEY!! He had a KEWL bike (I should know... I's gots one too!) And are you saying that Gina would never buck you off... don't be tempting the fates Shrop - how are you feeling today? Day or so after the crash... things really start aching. Get a nice massage, use some heat, ibuprofen and some hugs from the other half. I'm glad that you didn't break anything up that would require more than that to fix.
  18. Nasa moon LCROSS strike Thoughts: Lacrosse?! We named the project "LCROSS"?! And we're trying to explain that it was a non-violent crash into the moon? WE NAMED IT LACROSSE. Have you EVER seen a lacrosse game that was NON VIOLENT? That's like saying a friendly game of Hockey. In this article, the Brits tried to reference the size of a crater to a cricket pitch. Cricket?! Do you mean the cute sqeaky bug or are they trying to warn us?? Cricket crater - signifying the death of English cricket, see The Ashes referring to Wooden Pillar of Nature and Spirituality. (Ummmmm .... excuse me while I go and hide my Rory Award!!)
  19. The reason that I picked Taser (or less than lethal) on domestic disputes is because in considering the situation, I do NOT think that I would or could shoot my husband. BUT, I would have no second thoughts about bringing him down if he meant to attack me (which at this time I could not even envision - for many rational reasons. But sometimes thought isn't rational) He is bigger than I am, he is stronger and having spared with him a bit... yeah - he's won. So I would need some other advantage to remove myself from that situation. I would want something less than lethal, that I would actually be willing to use on someone that I loved... but was attacked by. It would decrease my moment of hesitation. I wouldn't necessarily take the time to restrain him. We have zipties,I could set up a restraint and notification/arrest. But I would rather LEAVE and very quickly get myself to a situation that would be SAFE. (but... not the local LE, not to insult, but I have other issues that I would need to consider)
  20. Keep trying, but I don't think you'll get a date. -- Side note on that hijack - The truth is that he stood me (and Marty) up.
  21. Not sure how that pertains to the issue. Sorry that was actually a response to funjumpers's comments
  22. Congratulations... I'm glad that you think that you're so smart, but that has NOTHING to do with this. If you want to joint this actual conversation, READ his proposal and suggest ways to actually improve his idea. Otherwise.... in the words of President Obama " Stop 'Talking' and 'Get Out of the Way'"
  23. OK... not to make this more complicated, because I LOVE the simplicity But how do you encourage patients to shop for cost reduction when they might not feel that they have the ability to do so. (not that they don't have the ability... but they feel that they don't) There will have to be a bit of re-education on patients rights and responsibilities. And PHYSICIANS would have to do that too. Typically our clinic sends labs to one of two companies, depending on the patients insurance. With this new program, will patients will have to research which lab has cheaper GC/Chlam screening. Will the patients be "allowed" to pick and chose options? (example - my "typical" STD screen would be GC/Chlam, RPR, HIV, Hep B/C, HSV) She comes in after an event of unprotected intercourse and only wants screening for HIV because that's what shes really scared of (but doesn't understand) [note.... in my clinic, I would then explain to her about all the testing and encourage her to do a full screen, but even currently, she would have the right to refuse.... but when I took my oral boards, I didn't tell them that, I just stated that my STD screen was xxxx]
  24. I found the bunny!!!! (that cover was almost too easy)
