That poor boy. Just thinking about how a parent could ask a child to lie like that for the 15 min of fame.

At what point do you stop thinking of it as "home"?
kbordson replied to Nataly's topic in The Bonfire
My parents moved into their present house in Wisconsin just months before I was born... that was "home" for over 21 years (through college, it was my legal residence... but I often stayed at my boyfriends apartment) I was stationed out in South Dakota after I finished college. The first year that I was there... I was alone. "Home" was Wisconsin. Then Marty moved out... South Dakota became home. I wasn't always thinking about "what is he/are they doing." I was happy to be living where I stood. That made it home to me. Enjoying where I was and with whom ... being comfortable is being "home." -
Interesting thought exercise.... Would most people desire an aggressive force or defensive? And in which category? Personal physical powers (healing, invisible, invulnerability, superhuman strength/senses, shape shifting) Mental faculty and knowledge-based abilities (telepathy, mind control) Manipulate fundamental forces or reality (weather manipulation, force fields, time travel)

pssst..... Initial post stated "the only rule is you can't pick the ability to fly", which is why I gave the hint to think about Gravity Manipulation or Elemental Manipulation That power negation seems to have been a wise choice edit to correct spelling error... and thus a formatting error.
-
But I have power negation... so I get to remain the straight forward, logical enigma.

Should the BNP be allowed to voice their views on the BBC?
kbordson replied to shropshire's topic in Speakers Corner
Falsely shouting 'Fire!' in a crowded theatre is still illegal regardless of weather anyone runs out screaming. Same shit. But the difference that I see is that the one ("yellin fire") focuses on your actions, whereas the other focused on the act of others. -

One can not incite racial or religious hatered, one can not incite violence. Incitement to violence, incitment of racial and religious hatred are arrestable offences and on conviction are punishable by imprisonment. The BBC would be punished by OFCOM their regulatory body and would have sever fines. I was thinking about this post and wondering about something. That law seems to be based on SOMEONE ELSES RESPONSE to your words or actions. So it seems, from an outsiders perspective looking in, that you then become responsible for the actions of others. Kind of like allowing people to blame the Beatles for murder or using the "violent video game" excuse. -
Actually... RE-READ my initial comment. Scroll on up to post #4: And the "I just have to shake my head" was a repeat of your comment just directly above it. What do I have to "lose"? Everything?! Not hardly. Money? Nope. Our family income does NOT primarily come from my occupation. I SERIOUSLY am only doing this job to HELP people. My current income is about half of what the national average is... and that is fine. I'm NOT in this for the money. If you think that is why I went to medical school, then you haven't a clue. If you think that the money was my motivation for residency, then you are deluded. You have no idea what it takes to get here and what motivates MOST physicians. But it's much easier to demonize anyone that has any opinion different from yours.... even "friends." Time? Nope. If (and that is a BIG if) the health care plan gets passed ... and if those greedy doctors had to convert to salary and not based on claims made/patients seen.... don't you think that the push to double and triple book just for the sake of more money would decrease. That would mean less slots to see patients. MORE time off. And if the gov't says "You have to see 'x' patients" I (as many doctors do) have the ability and the will to walk away. I have other skill sets that I can use. I am NOT a slave of the government just because I chose to get an education. Tax money? Dude! That's going to go up and Up and UP even without the health care plan. I have NO doubt about that. And you just want me more and more and more punished for trying to improve my knowledge and skills. And yes, I do mean PUNISHED. You seem to advocate taxes to punish those that have taken risks/accepted the challenge of life ... and succeeded. So they have to struggle to support those that didn't. I might be wrong on what you "want" - but that is my impression on your stance on taxing the "rich." So what is this "everything" that i have to lose? My husband? Nope. My family? Nope. My knowledge? Nope. My skills? Nope. I wouldn't lose a thing. Except... privacy of my health care records (which... I have limited privacy currently with the insurance companies paying. Except if I pay with cash and insist on that physician NOT using EMR) But health care aside, and taxes not withstanding..... my comment was strictly about your "friends." We have a difference in the use of that terminology. Your responses was crying because this mean evil doctor called you on it. (but... I like the "no hard feelings" comment... )

This is what always confuses me. Illegals ALREADY are getting free healthcare, right now - but some people are still concerned that illegals "might" get it. Great point, now they just create an emergency, go to ER, get the care and the hospital can waste their time and go after them, which they don't. See why I called him a dipshit? And who chided me for that? I'm assuming that you think the answer to that would be "me." What you were "chided" for was tearing down a "friend" so callously. I guess that we just have different definitions of "friend." You are seeming to cry at such a harsh comment as "wow" from some random on the internet that you have never even met... yet had no reservations with respect to insulting your self-stated "friends."

You are truly an inspiration. Now your body as well as your spirit is soaring again. I know that you're doing it anyway... but listen to those around you, take the time that you need and ENJOY THE RIDE!! Congratulations! Karen

Yeah... I do have some rather super powers
-
WTF?! I'm a "superpower"? Silly cheesy! OK... my three 1. Accelerated healing - both personal and the ability to "share" that power. But NOT Invulnerability like Superman, or even nigh-invulnerability like the Tick. I'm human... not a God, nor an Immortal. 2. Innate capacity for knowledge - like Forge... come on, wouldn't that just be WAY COOL to be able to learn ANYTHING that you wanted?! 3. Power negation - Your silly powers don't work on me. (I also would like intangibility or phasing like Kitty, but that power is kinda like a "run away" power... and those above are more defensive than offensive, but not quite so "lame".... not that Kitty is "lame"... she's WAY MORE COOL than I am... well... besides being fictional...) OHHHHH... and those that want to "fly" but don't want to break the rules - try Gravity Manipulation or Elemental Manipulation

Isn't that cute and see, your party is doing the same thing, which is why we will probably have a public option. Fart and joke around and you lose all the way. I was talking to a Republican friend of mine, he calls himself that altho he has the political intellect of a 5th grader, and I asked him if the HC goes thru that he hates so much, will he sign up for it. BTW, he hasn't had it for years like me. He said he would. I asked him if he thinks it is so bad then why would he contribute to its awefulness. He said he feared illegasl would get it. So this dipshit wants himself to go w/o HC so some illegals *might* get it. I just have to shake my head. wow... I just have to shake my head.

Interesting clip. But I don't understand the purpose of the show. Where was Simon or Paula Abul? Just kidding... (reference to another thread....) Seriously though What was the goal of that Question Time? Or was it just to say "fine... we let you on." -
