its so small and powerful you can mount 4 on your helmet and still have room i side mount it but it’s a great video quality and lots of functions very light. Nice cam you can skydive it put it into a underwater housing for scuba cam, make your own videos, family, vacation, personal porn tape ( tommy lee and pam type ) it’s a great cam

What are the best 2005 sony PC side mount camcorders
airborne82nd replied to shadowswoop97's topic in Photography and Video
oh i didnt know the 350 had all that resolution yeah 2000k is better i think the 90 has a few more better features then just the 3 megapix stills but not many more they need one as small as the hc 90 with a 5.4 megapixel still with a wirelesss remotre or plug in bite switch the 350 is bigger then the 90 or 40 so i think theres the advantage my hc 40 is so light i dont even know its there and the qulity is great -

mounting a aluminum box on a hawkeye
airborne82nd replied to airborne82nd's topic in Photography and Video
i have a box very small and its made for a pc109 and fits my hc40 very well. the box has 3 holes on top with one hole on bottom. so if i use the 1st top hole it aims a bit down 2nd hole more level 3rd hole slightly up. with my position in a flat belly to earth should i rotate it up or down on the pivot????? thansk anyone who can help -
no ram the guy there says the boxes are the same only the inside is different of the box to aacomodate the cam i think you could easily order a new insert i was ordering a ff2 for my sony hc40 and then said wait i may get a new cam and he said no problems we will send you the insert for it. so its a big box i complained that my little sony has to go in the pc 120 box at least out the side chris

Advice for buying camera for freefall shoting?
airborne82nd replied to tomin's topic in Photography and Video
I am in the medical field and it makes sence to keep your c-spine in allingment but turning doesnt break that allignment more of a rotation but if you dont turn your head and the risers catch on the side mounted d-box and then not rotate the head but tilt the head to fast to the side laterly and cause a comprssion fracture of the vertebra, a subluxation or a hyperextension of the joint space causing a disk rupture or even sever the spinal cord. or at least damage the spinous process. at least c1 or the atlas vertebra which supports the head. to c-3 i dont know i havent seen any of these type of injuries from skydiving videoographer. so what do you think turn or rotate head while maintaining the cervical allignment??? -

Thanks i am not planning on anytime soon in getting a cam system. It will be a while. i wanted to start planning and buy the cam and a few things. I dont want to film anyone yet want to wear the cam eye for a while and just record the jump not really film the jump. i have a mandate from an instructor at my dz. They wont let me fly cam till i do my research get my gear and train with them and only when they think i am ready. they said nothing really wrong with the cam eye system just the vid stinks. so no rsl well that makes sence. i hoping in a year i can film tandems if i keep my flying up and i double my jumps. thanks for the advice on the helmet to buy.

thanks read it allready

The other option is the camera eye, where the cam in a pouch on your waist and the fiber optic cable to your helmet. now i am allready whereing a nice big helmet. nothing wrong with putting that micro cam on there. also the only filming i am taking about ( since i am doing 4 ways all ready and doing 8 way rounds ) is recording the jump i am on basically letting the cam eye film whats going on and not filming the camera. now what is so unsafe about that??? i am not talking about filming tandems or students talking about a conservative safe way to film a jump with out the danger. with that cam system with a pouch on the chest strap and the fiber optic wire and micro cam. also if your want to be an asshole respond to someone elses post i would like only serious honest feedback with out sarcsim. funny i know a tunnell rat who went through aff 2 months ago and has 30 jumps and did a 14 point 4 way and did a docking 4 way freefly jump. the old way of learning this sport has been ruled obsolete with tunnell training. there are guys flying cam with 200 jumps ( i guess because they fly so good and the tandem master trusts them ) i dont want to fly tandem cam till i have maybee 500 jumps. funny though i talk to guys who have like 700 jumps say you cant fly cam till you have 500 jumps but then the next breath bragg how they put a cam on at 150 jumps or less. I guess they think their advice should be taken 100% even though they are hypicritcally viloated the same advice. Remember some of us unfortunatly have a couplehundred military jumps with rucksacks over 60 lbs and once in a while a scuba set up or dreager rebreather o2. these jumps are at night and sometimes in water and require breathing supp o2 and systems. yes civilian jumps are different but us military guys tend to be very cautious and safe and take things very slowly. special opps military stuff is dangerous enough and we live safely ( i have been told i am not aggressive enough with my rw flying as far as getting in the 4 way quickly ) so i dont push anything and take my time, plus i use the tunel in orlando every month. so now if anyone has some straight forward advice i would appreciate it. I know you may have a 1000 jumps and respect that but some of us have done some very dangerous stuff in the Army and civilian skydiving is more advanced and more safe and a heck of a lot more fun.

Ok please advise the cheapest way. Cheapest but adequete Sony or jvc if they are good enough Cheapest helmet and safest helmet. for a newbie flyer. ( i know i know no mail box on my head ) i would say the side mount all the freefly guys use seem as safe ( they do the head turn on deployment. and the lenses .3 for being in on a 4 way or something and .5 for filming a 4 way? I think camera flying is pretty safe if done very conservativly ( a good way just to record a dive ) i am talking about the newbie level with a 100 jumps side mount. so we want to record our jumps cheap, safe and with good resolution and maybee aspire to be camera people one day. theres pc100, 101, 105,110 120, pc 5,9 hc 20,30 40 and then jvcs help?????????? so very amaetur video. we will look on ebay but we need to know what to get thanks all who anwser chris

ok i need to know how i can quickly cover vertical distance
airborne82nd replied to airborne82nd's topic in Relative Work
Ok i did an 8 way the other day i think a 4 point 8 way. i know i know low speed. we exited out a twin bonanza. we exit a 4 way base out and then the 4 divers dive down to us. i am part of the base standing in the door. now i am diving down to a 4 way or 6 way or 8 way. problem i am having is i cant get down fast enough it takes me to long to close the vertical ddistance. i can acheive a 45 deggree down and sometimes a 60 degree. so i leave the plane and dive at a 45 degree ankle aiming for a point next to the group. so i fly down and turn and turn and turn then i am there. how can i go almost straight down and say aim 50 ft off the formation to the side dive down fast then go delta and do a 45 degree angle to the formation then enter. it takes me 20 seconds to 40 seconds if i exit last. so i need to be able to go almost 90 down to a 70 degree down then i can do my 45 degree angle . of course i never go over the formation. but i need to get down fast and safe as possible. i get in the formation and everyone is like good flying chris in formation but try to get down faster. this makes me feel like i failed the group. so am i talking about like a freeefly head down or a no lift dive or what??? one fella told me to put my hands behind my back and that helped a bit. any of you rw masters would give me a bit of advice i would appreiciate it. -
how to pack my triathlon 175 to snival
airborne82nd replied to airborne82nd's topic in Gear and Rigging
Wwowwwwowowowo rthanks for the advice everyone one question though. i was taught to 4 way the slider tight down on the slider stops and then 4 way it pull it out front side side and back quatrers and equal. what does it meen to cover the nose with the slider i dont understand. and i quarter the slider and have it facing into the canopy should i have it folded and quartederd to the harness???? and what the hell can i do with the stabilizer tuck it in or wrap it around???? thannks chris -
after all the info i recieved and read i changed my mind i think i was wrong about students with booties. my son who is 15 will be 16 in april. ( hes been scubadiving since he was 10 ssi and has been to 140 ft doesnt panic very aware ect..) he has all ready watched cut away, pack and fly like a pro, and a few others he rotates through the videos. he is learning how to pack and can almost pack a rig ( easy one to pack ) he has been up on the jump plane twice and observed and he talks to everyone about landing patterens ect.. he also takes pictures of landings. he has 24 minutes of tunnel time and we hope he has 2 hours by the time he does aff. i told him we will get him a tunnel suit or student suit first for a while no booties. i am afraid botties woudlnt be good for my son till he had some good jumps and stability under his belt/ so in view of the debate i was wrong about booties and students

how to pack my triathlon 175 to snival
airborne82nd replied to airborne82nd's topic in Gear and Rigging
wow what happen it opened and slammed you?? and the lines broke??? how many lines need to break before you have to cut away??? was it a new 220???? man i am sorrry about that obviously you have no problems with your new canopy thank GOD huh yes cliff told me not to roll the nose either i dont understand why not i just really started to learn to pack ok and fast it was hard to learn to pack and i am highly inteligent but i was a complete idiot when it came to packing. it has taken me months to pack right and i still take hits i am tough i can take the slamms but why would i want to huh and it just isnt fun -
ok just a stupid question here but lets see if i cant get hostile feedback. saw this 4 way team today. One nice fella i met was in the 82nd and was on their 4 way team he had 1000 jumps before he joined so now he must have 2000 jumps i guess. well this 4 way team did everything it was incredible. how they did it and how fast and the sequences was well too hard to beleive. my question is what makes those guys so good? is the tunnell?? does it help a huge amount or just a bit? does it take 1000 jumps to be good a 4way i meen these guys look world class pro athletes. now are they gifted athletes like say tiger woods and have acheived that level due to God given skill hard work and training. Or can anyone reasonable skill develop it are your born with it or are you made. i am in the medical field and they say surgeons are not born they are made. it just seems imposssible that someone like me could ever get to that level. 2nd question is there ameuter 4 way like for novices??? 3rd how the heck can you get good at rw fun stuff. how much tunnel time how does one train ???? any non pissing comments would be apreciated

oh ya i was at the tunnel the other day and this asshole asked me how many jumps do you have and i said 70 ( plus 120 static lines ) he told me he had 1100 jumps and i need to cut the booties off until i had 200 jumps. now this idiot thinks that the amount of jumps one has makes hime know all and i had to remind him that i dont take bullshit . i use to fight in black belt tunys aau. anyway i had to set this guy straight ( watch how you talk to me or ill have to show you that 1100 jumps dont and wont make you a fighter ) he was like oh man i dont meen anything about it. but boy was he acting like such an ass and berading me my wife was scared ill smash the guy ( i am never an ass to anyone but dont be a dick to me ) anyway he got in the tunnel ( his first time ) and smashed into the walls for 2 minutes. he didnt do much better his next 2 minutes. his buddies he was with flew better. flying in the tunnel is different. i suggested that he cut his booties off or get a tunnel rental suit next time he flyes in the tunnel. he didnt even look at me.

i totaly disagree with the no booties at one time students didnt use through out pilot shoots and so on this sport is all about change and things students do these days they didnt do and there were retractors back then i bought a rw suit sized to me and then i put 20 minutes in the tunnel on that suit no other suit . everytime you go to the tunnel they will give you a different suit so i bought my own with booties. so 20 minutes on the suit then i did 3 tandems then i did 20 more minutes then with 40 minutes of tunnell i was solid as a rock at aff 1-3 i had perfect stability. then i did 10 minutes and did aff4-6 then 8 minutes and aff 7, over all i have done 85 minutes. i never had a spin problem i found my booties gave me more control more drive forward more stability. no every week i see some stdent spining all over the place in a student or plane old jump suit. i see guys track in circles too. i never did that. i jump now and peope think i have double the jumps i do. i do think its important to use one suit through your training let me tell ya suits fly different. i am also the only student at my dz to have as much tunnel time and to have his own suit. i was prepared ChrisQuote
