  1. its not me they are getting pissing contest with me. they dont even try to answer the guys question. i am merly defending myself read back through and see who starts that crap. but i will shut up and just watch, tired of trying to help people and those who want to get personal and nasty and wont confer a couter point and just want to flame and take things out of context, rather then helping anyoe out so spizzzzzarrko i will be silent. thanks for your aswers in the past by the way. thanks to everyone who answers questions
  2. thats what i am talking about and you wonder why there is trouble when you get personal like that. i have no idea why you post such crap. fine take nothing i say personal, hell i dont answer many questions anyway but ill give you an honest opinion, 90% of the time i read everything on here. thanks aggie dave and one other answered with any substance. i hope you qulified pilots will handle him i hope but i have seen that handling before, you gouys blow off the new guy and your to good to talk to him. so go ahead it would be great if you handle it. ill keep quiet.
  3. thanks i feel better now. pd website on their slink part was informative. i dont know why i have heard static on them but i guess its preference. thanks again
  4. i have seen some swoopers and baby swoopers and teenage swoopers using softlinks and some not. i have heard lots of good and bad. are there any bad considerations on softlinks and is their a jump life to them? thanks c
  5. the guy doesnt fly a diablo what are you talking about???? i am pointing out the differences between canopys and i will do a hard 90 on a diablo all day long and it will recover right after my turn and i have many jumps on a diablo. I realy wonder if you have flown a diablo i had the misfortune of owning one. in fact the canopy will recover right when you stop the turn if you argue this fact you neverr jumped a diablo and i have even jumped the stealth the hybrid 9 cell diablo and its scary as hell. diablos and stiletos recover imidietly crossfires and other canopys dive and recover much longer. now are you going to argue that also?? you guys take thing out of context and then you say i am giving dangerous advice i am pointingout differences in canopys and i dont know what canopy the poster is on. and your an idiot of you think i am giving him advice thats dangerous doing a final 90 degree toggle turn in? read my damn post word for word and give me a break he should read germains book and canopy coaching but i dont know what canopy he is on and of course he will downsize. now now many of you took 200 jumps before you couuld land right and toggle it in for speed and i know aggie dave did not. someone should answer his question leaveme out of it if you have advice then give it to him and telling him to wait till he has 200 jumps or comeback later willnot help him, he willnot listen. iam the only one who cared enough to ask him what canopy he is on, others all they want to do is hear their own voice and argue. i think the focus needs to be on answering questions and giving progressive advice and giving the jumper options. knowledge will keep him safe your condasending anser of come back later will not. Plus i have the right 100% to share my experience with the disclaimer that his is my jumps and this is what i have flown and this is where i am in the baby swooping. i can tell them how i got here and its safe to say i didnt rush into it and i havent even close togetting hurt. i do realize as you advance in swooping you will get hurt or take a few spills, the hope is to minimize that. also anyone of you can out swoop my ass anyday i dont make any claims i cant back up and i am honest on what i know. you guys have a strange version of the truth. the diablo point is so foolish yesterday i was next to someone a friend on a diablo and they did the 5 spins max g diablo toggle turn i did one long 360 toggle on the crossfire and came up right behind him. but dont worry i will tone it down for the benifit of you all, i dont think there should be a censorship of anyone sharring their knowledge and experience. the poster should consider the source. if you hve a better argument then post it and dont be an ass and say i am giving out bad advice give your counter opinion and dont make it personal.
  6. stop flaming haveflown lots diablos you can swing low and recover so quick the do not dive very short dive my point is that differnt canopies fly totaly differnt some new people think a canopy is a canopy like i did years ago. of course take aggie daves advice i am trying to help him understand whats up. as for double fronts again i dont know what jump numbers someone should do those lots of people are advocates for double fronts before you do 90 turns with toggle so i am asking is double fronts ok. and poster what canopy are you on now???
  7. remeber swooping is for black belts and your a white belt you can not skip belts my self i am near brown belt some one like aggie dave is a 3rd degree black belt get the analogy. i think its important for flar timing but no 180 degree carves. you can try some slow carves 90 toggle kindd of like turn in on final to get a bit of speed or get double front riser both pull them down a 1/4 way and then let them up around 30-40 ft but ask someone else about that. i never do that lots of guys do to get some speed and get more flare and glide. you can do a 90 turn in also for a bit of speed but you have to leearn your canopy and you will likely down size. rember canopys are not like cars they dont all drive the same at all. if you do say a 90 toggle on a diablo it will recover in 50 ft say if you do it on my crossfire 2 139 a 90 at like 60 ft you will hit the ground. so the question is relevant to your experience no 180 some light toggle carve some 90 finals and maybe some double fronts and its relavent to what canopy your flying currently. dont ruch it you have lots of time you are only in competition with your self no one else/
  8. vegas most use friendly dont get premier i have it huge learning curve vegas is easy and powerful
  9. The Samurai is honestly an awesome canopy. i have a crossfire2 but ill tell you the The Samurai flew awesome i cant describe what canopy it is close to but its a great canopy. i flew the jedi as well loved it. just thought i throw that in for objectivity, i have a crossfire but The Samurai was awesome
  10. notice all the post about swooping in traffic, or how does this canopy fly or that fly, or how do you do this i keep my mouth closed and my ears open. My knowledge is limited. Ill share what i know. buut mostly i will keep quiet
  11. no freestyle oh ok ok well what the hell is that photo of then are you taking a napp on the water?? here ya go aff student wide eyed and sacared this will be you in a few years dont you look cool doing a lazyboy on the water or is that a superman i cant see the photo too well
  12. loved it all and thanks. i loved everything but the hornets nest. unfortunatly i am the one who gets stung first and nonone likes it when i sting back. i mearly putting my two cents in plus i am 100% on the level and 100% intilectually honest i have no bias i dont atack anyone i mearly try to share my limited knowledge or debate a point or argue a concept and the hornets come out and go stinging, and when i stick up for my self and sting back they dont like it and go cry to a moderator. if people would keep it level and professional and not atack others for their point of view you would never here a foul word from me. i mostly read these forums till some ass throws in some bs. thanks for the post long and appreciated i read every single word dont think its too long.
  13. you guys rock!!! in this thread. funny when i was on a 220 triathlon rental off aff they said downsize and i said you will get me off this pink 220 triathlon when you pry my cold dead fingers from it. they sold it a week later. i said i would never swoop ever funny how all that happens. i wonder if people on vx velocitys xaos everr look back and laugh and never imagine they can do what they do now. i am at that level and i cant do but baby swoops yet. my progression was anything that didnt scare the shit out of me and was comfortable and then when i was demo'ing many many many differnt sizes and canopies my standard was whaats comfortable, what feels right, what can i land well, what canopy do i feel most conected with, annd oh yeah what ever didnt scare the shit out of me. so i wussed out and settled on the crossfire 2. great post i memrize these good points belive me.
  14. yes 90's seem easy, and i have outs from 90 to 220 mostly sometimes i have 90 to 240 depending on winds. yes i dont want to over rotate and i always stick to my plan set up or if the winds change or something or traffic i just land. thanks for the advice i will apply asap. no there are no compitent swoopers at my dz, there are 3 guys who are ok but not one has a method and only 2 are consistant and they are flying older outdated non crossbraced canopys. perhaps ill visit one of the 6 dropzones in floirda in this area to do some more coaching. thanks i can only work on one thing at a time its either walking or chewing gum not both. i am patient i have no chice to be i have no skills. where i sat fly in 50 jumps and 1 hour of tunnel time and i dont want to talkk about back flying other do it in half the time but i am just as good as them and better then others, i do ok it takes me time to do anything. what about if i let off oin the front riser easy and as i and before i plane out i pull easy on both front risers which wouldnt be easy to do since i have all that speed or is that a dumb move?? i have seen people do it but i dont want to till i understand what happens to my flight if i do. i will work on timing of course. thanks for the help
  15. ahhgg ya my feet are mostly straight and not tucked up like a 6ft gumby damn it and i try to let off my riser smooth i may be letting it go a little fast as i am concentrating on my plane out. thanks for the correction you must have a video of me.
  16. spidey sences and consitancy, will be my new jump anthems. i just thought there was something i can do whn i relize i am going to plane out of the dive high. i dont know but i am rarley in the corner or burried maybe its my lack of agressivnes. yeah i cant wait till my swoop sences develop and my eyes feel the dive and i can imporve my speed and swoop effienceincy thank you for the advice
  17. just a newbie swoop questionif i do my 180 dive and get good speed but plane out at 20 ft should as i????? as i know i am planing out too high should i get on double front risers before i plane out to keep the dive a little more?? or should i do a slight harness input as in germains book to keep the dive alive a bit more?? i havent tried either yet since i dont understand the mechanics of it and i am afraid of getting hurt. what i have been doing when i plane out at 20 ft i just look like an idiot wait for the canopy to drive forward again and land and look like a fool. i have no problem when i come in and have to rear riser up or toggle up to plane out its when i plane out 10 or 20 ft too high i plane out too high half the time the other times i have to touch rears or toggles a bit. of course i have a few digs but not many. i have a consistant 350 ft dive. i dont want to over rotate past 180 thats beyond my skill level. any help i am sure this is an infant swooper problem. thanks
  18. Ok this is what you guys still dont understand. When people ask me medical advice i give them an answer, the answer comes from my training, experience, and say statistics. I answer their question. based on what I know. Here the opinions are very subjective some of you old timers ( and i am 38 ) i mean jump numbers learned of the old school way. getting an objective opinion is very hard most of you are stuck in your mind set and your experience and your canopy progression. I still remeber as i did my first tandem at lake wales the sign said no hook turns and that was 11 years ago. I saw people Hooking diablo 99's at like 150 ft ( i dont know for sure ) wow has everything changed and keeps changing. many of you incredibly skilled folks are loading velocitys at 2.2 or so, to me thats like flying to the moon i can not believe it and i cant ever see me there. my goal is 5 years a crossbraced but i doubt il make it in comfort or skill level. ( I raced motocross and was in karate but never placed in any major races or tournaments ) so i am no Michael jordon in respect to moto cross or katrate. you guys are michael jordons of swoop, and in skydiving almost anything is possible if you have the time and jump numbers ( thats why i love this sport ) you guys are awesome at what you do and i am a baby swooper working to get better safely. Mostly you guys give great advice but to often many of you feel its out of turn for other jumpers to even raise their voice or their hand in class. some of us are very smaart people and can share their experinces. many of you old timers want to silence some of us from sharing. You guys think your way is the only way and the more jump numbers you have the more right you are. I ask lots of questions and had them answered and i am a genius but i also have a hard time understand ing some things also. so i know what i know and i ask when i dont know. I never bragg about what i can do becuase compared to you guys i cant do a 10th of what you do. but damn it when i know something i speak up. if i have 100 crossfire jumps i would say thats a fair amount of jumps to comment on the canopy, yes 1000 jumps is more but does it take 1000 jumps to know a crossfire??? It took me a few jumps on the katana and fx to know that they were way beyond my skill level. so when i share that opinion hey the katana scared the shit out of me and here is why. i may not be an expert on the katana but ill tell you why it scared the hell out of me. and i can share that with out someone trying to pick apart everylittle detail apart. agggie dave your a great example of the wrong thinking, and i say this to you even though you give great advice and have lots of experience. You think people ask questions here becuase the answer is no at their dz? now that is rediculous to even present that. at my dz there are 3 of us on crossfires. 2 cobalts, 1 mamaba, 3 vision, a bunch of diablos and others. not one person is on a crossbrace canopy, no one knows much about swooping but what they picked up and mention brian germain and people are like huh?? i go to other dz's to demo canopys. other dz's where swoopers are you ask them a question and they are like i dont know i just do this or that. thats the problem alot of dropzones you get what ever the consensous is like oh we are a pd dropzone or a aerodyne ect.. menntion another canopy and you dare be burned at the stake. bring a crossfire to your dz and they want to attack it with rakes and throw it in the bomb fire. we come here since this is the greatset concentration of swoopers in one place who knows you get the facts and you get expereince level opinions. there is a wealth of knowledge here adn many people are trying to tap into it. give the answer and add your disclaimer and try not to sound so condensending and high and mighty and i belive knowledge is power. i am living proof of these forums helping expand my skills and knowledge. but all opinions are valuable everyones experinces are different and the guy with 300 jumps who shared his knowledge helped me out way more then the skygod with 2000 who was a dick in the forum. one more thing stop demanding respect due to your jump numbers and thinking everyone should agree with you and respect others opinions. and stop splitting hairs just to be an ass, you know the jist of someones post dont take what they say out of content just to say gotcha. and dont be so surprised when you are an ass to someone and they give it right back what do you expect. this sport is rapidly changing and people are swooping at younger and younger jumps. remeber just a few years ago people were hook turning and now look and where will this sport go, i cant imagine. I will continue to ask many questions and i wil answer the ones i know and share my experience with the disclaimer hey i have this many jumps and this many with this canopy and i am at this level so take that for what its worth /// and they can fox news it they report you decide ect... stop trying to cut everyones answer up into pieces if you have another opinion then just share it no need to be an ass. i myself will be at 1000 jumps in a bout a year Lord wiilling and there is no way i will be on a xbraced, but i have all the time and the years to get there i am in no rush. I will progress till i cant progress no more, with many of your help i have got this far. You guys here help people more then you know so stop being ass's and share your knowledge ina no offensive condesending manor. Most of you have so much to offer us, infact we all can answer each others questions and no harm on debating either
  19. well i wont keep arguging you guys dont like when anyone disagrees with you. you guys are also not ones who follww your own advice. i dont give any conflicting advice, i answered his question unlike you guys, just the facts of the diference of that canopies. just becuase you guys go on a condasending crussade everytime someone asks you guys a question and you wonder why they dont listen to you. the crossfire is the most docile hp canopy period it is a fact. if you do a low turn on anything your dead so theres no point to that. i dont know howmany jumps you need to pilot one maybee 300 but ill say this i think you need say 800 to handle a fx or katana. since i have more mamba jumps then you both i think i can talk about the mamaba. this person is going down 11 square feet in canopy. and he is going to a more docile canopy capable of a full flare unlike the stileto. and its a crossfire 1 and not 2. in my opinion the stileto poses more chalenges and dangers then does the crossfire. i have had 3 line twist and been spinning pulling g's going down fast. diablo and stiletos spin insanly fast crossfires dont. you cant argue with the truth of the canopy characteristics. here is the posters pm to me Hey, thanks for giving the lowdown on the Xfire1. That's really what I was looking for and you were one of the only people that actually answered the question. Blue Skies, Matt
  20. if you dont know that a crossfire is much more docile then a stileto under a 1.2 wing loading, you havent jumped a crossfire. lanidning it is simple, flying it is simple it opens easy it doesnt spin like crazy on opening the flare is easy deep and you can dead stop it, verry predictable flare, the glide is no flat so your not falling out of the sky. you can not get over your head with a crossfire unless you do a foolish front riser dive or do a low turn. but then again that will happen on a traithlon also. in my opinion a crossfire is safer more stable and easyer to fly then a spineto. why you people want to argue about split hair details and make points about getting over your head, that is possible with any canopy if you over load it. i have jumped many canopys in the high performance range under a crossbrace and have jumped the katana and fx. the corssfire is the easy canopy to fly at simuler wing loading to the others. now if you were talking about a katana or mamaba or blade then i would say yes those canpies can put you way over your head uick but a crossfire? cmon man have you jumped one really?? with a light loading under 1.4??
  21. listen any canopy can spin in line twist, but line twist on a crossfire and line twist on a diablo or stileto are a huge difference. i have had line twist on my crossfire loaded 1.43 many times very easy to deal with. line twist on a diblo or stileto a scary picture no matter how level you are in the harness. people want to argue stupid little details pointless. the crossfire is a simple easy canopy to fly and land you dont need 500 jumps to jump it if you understand not to go front riser it. the crossfire dives but toggle it deosnt realy act like any hard canopy to fly. infact many people fly the crossfire and think since its not a fast reactive truning canopy its too slow for them. and i am telling you if i could land a crossfire anyone can. i also jumped a crossfire 109 landed it fine and thn put a few jumps on a katana 120 wow was i over my head with the katana. the crossfire is an awesomecanopy dont let anyone scare you, i seen several people get hurt swooping stiletos and my friend hit the hanger with his foot. the recover so low and force you to make your turn lower but they do recover quick. i am glad i could answer your question for you
  22. albert added weight to his configuration also i understand he had not done this before. i also understand the weight was a last miunte addition to some how be relative to two or 3 other paragliders. it also appears that ablert may have drowned, i hope and pray he was knowcked unconsious. i cant imagine poor albert drowning how terrible for such a joly happy funny guy. everyone loves albert becuase he is albert. ( my quote to why does everyone love albert ) ill miss you buddy, i just wished you came back to florida
  23. aerodyne that mamba is a great parachute much better then the vision and nothing like it. i think aerodyne makes great stuff, that mamba is aweosme it just didnt fit my flying skill and preference and comfortable like a crossfire. i landed the mamba great and its fast its just the crossfire fit me better.
  24. execuse some of these others dude with their dribble whats yoru wing loading?? the crossfire isnt going to turn as fast as the stileto and it will take more toggle to get it to turn. so its slower in the turn but when you swoop it and come in fast the controls catch up nicly and its nicely reactive. i have a friend with a crossfire 139 come inand land a cobalt 135 and he was all over the place whn flaring since the cobalt was so reactiive and thats magnafied with speed. your flare on the stileto is about 3/4 at most but with the crossfire you can flare to your feet if your arms are long enough. the glide is going to blow you away also and the forward speed will feel faster with the crossfire becuase it will be by comparison under simuler wing loading but your stepping up. you wont beable to do those diablo super turns and spin your self sick like you can with the stileto. it also will take much longer to recover then the stileto. the crossfire wants to dive and build speed and recover slowly it has its won recovery arc its not slow its designed that way but spped builds fast. tell the other guy that your goal is super soft on heading opennings a awesome glide a super easy canopy to land ( and it is the flare is so simple honeslty an aff student could land this canopy ) i know someone off aff got a crossfire 1 159 at 30 jumps had a triathlon 150 and couldnt land it he got a crossfire not knowing what it was and he landed that thing great. funny story he has lots of jumps and has a smaller crossfire point is its an easy canopy to land you need to have experiece to fly it. and to begin swoop.ing. oh the best goal is to stop yourfreefall and get you safely to the ground. it also wont spin when you have line twist isnt that a releif.
