Actually this one's old as hell, this happened about a year before I went through Sage. And the local authorities were notified, the comittee that runs the exercise has a checklist they follow before every iteration that includes informing local authorities, that is one of the biggest concerns about the exercise. A bunch of soldiers sneakin around with machine guns in peoples back yards wearing civilian clothes, yeah the police know. This one particular deputy somehow did not get the word. Which is why we now have to wear certain pieces of clothing to identify us, carry special ID cards, we are clearly instructed not to engage anyone in hand to hand, and all role players involved with the scenario that are suppsoed to be law enforcement officials wear arm bands taht say role player. As Travis said, there are some great references out there, but you wann know a nifty little trick?? Go to an Airspeed tunnel camp, and at the end of the day when all the coaching is done, ask one of them to join you for dinner at the bent prop(AS camps are done at Eloy now so the bent prop is 100 meters away), and offer to buy 'em a round of drinks, or dinner, their coaching is more than worth it. While you're having a drink or two, turn their brain inside out and pick every bit of knowledge you can out of it. they are always more than willing to share their experience and knowledge with you, they keep no secrets, but sometimes during the day in the middle of a camp they are so busy they have to keep the convos short, get em at the end of the day when you are unwinding and they will share every secret they have with you happily. Not to mention you'll have a friend for life, the AS coaches are one of a kind, definitely a class act. One of the best moves I have ever made was to attend an AS camp and instead of heading back to the hotel at the end of the night I would go across the street to the bar with one of them and while we were grabbing dinner and a drink I would just ask a thousand questions, and they are always so happy to share. Not to mention that now anytime I'm in eloy the know me and not only come up to say hi when they see me, but anytime I ask if they're available for coaching they have gone out of their way to help me out. Key point, don't be intimidated by any of the greats in 4way, all of them are friendly, I've walked up to Dan BC in Perris to introduce myself and he was more than happy to chat, Joey Jones, Chris Irwin, Neal Houston, Doug Park, Kirk, Eliana, Andy, Craig. You'll never meet an unfriendly face in this sport, put yourself in a place where you can meet them and capitalize on it. You know I could write a novel about all the bad dates I've had, blind dates always being the worst!! Every date is an adventure when you're GQ_jumper tonight however went awesome, so I guess one great date after two nights of horrible ones isn't that bad. she's actually on her way back over though, she lives down the street and ran home to change into something more comfy so we can watch a movie. No, that was my second date this weekend, the first was was more meeting someone from myspace for the first time, we went to dinner and then out for drinks but it was more as friends. The girl I'm cooking dinner for tonight I've already been on a date with before and she's a little sweetheart and great to talk to, so it should make up for the other two. And Kbordson, the thing that really made last night horrible was just that it was impossible to talk to this girl. I couldn't get a word in without her going off on some random tangent and the few times I did she seemed confused I like a girl with a good sense of humor that can hold a conversation. The one I was with on friday was great to talk to and we were having a great time but when we went to the club it got a little awkward because we ran into a girl I had daated before. Yea, 2wice Once I said I was going to the car to get a cigarette ( back when I used to smoke) and just drove away. The other time the girl didnt look like I thought she did in the club(back when I used to go to clubs ) she asked me to keep the car running because it was freezing out so I went out started it and drove it!!! I was trying to be open-minded when it came to club choices but every place she wanted to go to was some little thugh club good for nothing but getting into fights. The one she finally decided on is one of those clubs that you don't go into at all unless you have a good number of friends with you to watch your back. And considering the fact that my back last night would have been a 105 pound female I wasn't about to make that mistake. I just got home from what was shaping up to be the worst date I've ever had. By the time we sat down for dinner I was already close to ripping my hair out. So I went to the bathroom called my buddy and had him call me back and bail me out. He called me back and told me that one of my teammates had just gotten arrested and I needed to go sign for him from the MP's. So I'm home now safe and sound.

Not that I've been there, but I also don't see how these people get into the situations they do. There was an SUV stormed and taken in teh street, were they stopped? You have to have your head on a swivel and keep enough distance in front of you if you have to evade, as you're stopped. Constantly look behind to see if someone is charging, etc. Quote It's actually not all that hard to get someone into a situation where this can be done over there.
