    Got to hear my baby's heartbeat again and know everything's going well, though I can't feel him move yet and I don't look pregnant. But YAY! for healthy heartbeats!

    I know what you're saying, however, I'm not going to get angry at someone for sharing things with me. I enjoy listening to people's problems if it makes them feel better and/or I can help in anyway. Maybe this is why I've considered being a counselor.

    Maybe you shouldn't ask them such questions like "how are you?" And instead say things like, "I was going to be polite, and pretend to be genuinely interested in your well-being...but since I'm not, I probably won't ask you how things are going." edited to add: I think it's kind of shallow to ask someone how they're doing, when you don't really care to know the answer. The person you ask may really need someone to talk to. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

    Seems to me like it would be unsafe for children to accept and eat homemade treats ( you never know who you can trust nowadays.) I know if my child came home with a homemade treat, unless I knew the person well who made it, I would throw it away. edited to add: Since I don't celebrate Halloween, I'm probably not giving out any candy. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

    N-E-ways... I've seen people do things like babysit, fix cars/bikes, offer a place to stay, give hugs/kissies,hospital visits, pen pals to prison mates, inviting someone over for the holidays, cleaning someone's house, basically just using their talents and gifts to help others out.

    That's awesome, Icon! My mum lives in a habit for humanity house and I know she really appreciates it. I really appreciate it too, because she's VERY hard working and deserves a nice house. Good for you Scott.

    I am doing my "homework" on it; however, this thread was specifically directed towards individuals and asking them why they celebrate. A lot of people have different reasons for celebrating things...and I am sure some don't know exactly why they celebrate what they do. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

    I was just curious to find out most people's reasons for celebrating Halloween, which I am assuming stems from wanting an excuse to get dressed up in a costume. Anybody else celebrate Halloween for something other than the obvious reason? Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

    hey guys- I would like to hear about how some of you help people out, without using money. It's tempting often enough to use money to bless someone, to buy them a meal/clothes, but what are some ways you've helped others out by donating things other than money? ( Such as time)

    I would like to pay all my bills, and on time, and see my family in South Dakota ( Brrrrrrrrrrr) for Christmas. And oh, a rig and a family-style car would be nice too.

    Well, Yukon usually won't poop in the house anymore. ( he's about 18 months) We've discovered that part of the reason MAY be that he does it because we leave. We've taken him outside to do his business, leave, and forget something, come back 5 minutes later and he's pooped! He's going to the bathroom in the house a lot less frequently now...but he's still pretty disobedient. We really need to get him enrolled in a class, but that is something we really can't afford right now. I just want a puppy who goes outside and can hold it for at least a few hours! Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
