Well? If you work in a hospital, with sick and dying patients, can having too much compassion interfere with work? Is there such a thing as a person having too much compassion, and therefore not being a good candidate for hospital work? What do you guys think? Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Please read my post again: ( read: people who try to keep up with the joneses, rather than cutting hours to spend more time with kids). I am specifically referring to those parents who would rather have bigger and better things, working overtime instead of building relationships with their kids. I in no way classified all two-income households as having uninvolved parents. Sadly though, I believe this IS a growing trend. People are blind if they don't think we live in a society that values with material goods over relationships. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Just curious to hear everyone's different perceptions on this. Your favorite people to spend time with, what qualities do they have that make you never want to leave? -
Hmm, I just realized how much I've missed being able to buy candy and sugar-coated whatnots guilt-free. What's your pleasure? Right now I like sour patch kids, laffy taffys, chocolated covered cherries and almond roca. It's pretty nice to be able to eat whatever I want! Oops, maybe I should have started this thread over in my pregnancy forums. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

First off, too much tv, porn, violence, etc : If the parents themselves are doing it, they are condoning it and are only setting examples for their kids. Also, both parents having to work in order to have bigger and better? Don't people realize that their kids will cherish a RELATIONSHIP with their parents, more than toys? You can't buy love. I find it very sad that many people are having children, only to pass them off onto babysitters and nannies and not even raise them. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Mm--too flashy for me. I need an uglier family-style car now. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

I don't know any TRULY insane people, but I do know of some really immature people who won't leave others alone to live their lives in peace. Does that count for something? Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Sorry, that is NOT typical of Christians. Typical of people who CALL themselves Christians. Not actual followers of Christ. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Lawrocket, why does God allow them to do things like protest funerals? Because He gave us a free will. We are allowed to commit whatever acts we want while on earth. ( You wouldn't want to be a robot, now would you? ) The Phelps may be claiming they're doing God's work, but I think they're wrong on so many levels. The Bible speaks of a group, called "Pharisees," they claim to be religious, yet know nothing of God's love and mercy. The only thing I see when I look at the Phelps is that they're Pharisees. Spouting off scripture and manipulating it in an evil way. They will face judgement for their actions though, rest assured. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

I've heard of them, but I've also been exposed to a lot of music because of my father's tastes: Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Leon Redbone, Leo Kotke, the Chieftains, several others that I can't think of right now. I LOVE Dylan and Morrison, some of my faves. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Is it wrong to give forgiveness to those who kill your children?
windcatcher replied to BlindBrick's topic in The Bonfire
Well Jack, no it's not. I am sorry over the loss of Riley-I think I only spent time with him once, holding him and playing with him, but what a cute, playful kid! Anyway, as a Christian my personal belief is to forgive no matter what. I think your post was really a great post. We'll be praying for you during this difficult time. By definition, they are. Only by people who worship them and think their lives are more valuable or meaningful than someone else's. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
