  1. Not really. You are either one who eats plants, one who eats meat, or one who eats both. Just because one meal does not contain meat, does not make you a vegetarian. Likewise, if you eat only meat for another meal , you are not a necessarily a carnivore. Welcome to the world of omnivores. Because that is what you are.
  2. You are totally awesome. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  4. Nope... I've not looked at the Defense budget THAT closely. However, considering we're in a two-front war... can you justify NOT spending the money? I think that is his point. The two-front war business. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  10. I said that for you. This is pretty much a thought experiment. Philsophical idea However, it you wanted to make applicable to current discussions, you could infer that I think the argument that the order of the universe is evidence of God is utter bullshit. We should also know that I believe in God - just to makes certain you understand that I am not coming from some atheist point of view. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  13. Here is a question ( or rather an idea) I posed in another thread that no one ever really answered. I would enjoy hearing thoughts on it: Society is filled, and has been filled, with clashes of science and religion. Particullarly the question of "order of the universe." And in examining these clashes and question, I have had to ask - Why was the universe MADE the way it is? If scientific study has caused so much strife and conflict, why did God bother to create systems of physics and biology to begin with? Why make the systems so complicated that we continue to find 10 more questions for every answer determined? If God is all powerful and created the universe, why did he not make it so that it was easier to understand? Why make such complex rules about how light travels, how the universe works, how our bodies work, etc? Take our bodies for instance. Why not make it such that we are just big shells that have life? Why are we these unbelievably complex systems that have so many potential areas of failure? After all, God is all-powerful so making a ball of mud walk and think would be no problem for Him. And He certainly would not need to impress anyone (like us) with complexity would he? If the rules were much simplier it definitely cut down of the arguments and strife. I realize this is one of those, "You can never understand why a supreme being does what He does" type of question but it is still quite intriguing to me. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  14. Yeah, I am going to have to agree with steverorino here. You argument is flawed. You are human. Thus, those things are impossible. God is not human; he is a supreme being. Therefore, what is impossible to you is not to him. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  15. No, no. My penis is bigger!! No MY PENIS IS BIGGER. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  16. I don't see the word "traitor" in there, but I guess if you are a one plank voter, that's good enough for government work I think you are nitpicking as it could easily be inferred from the sentence. An translation of the quote: "If you question the president about war, you hurt the country." What does a traitor do to his country? Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  17. Yellow and belly. That does not make any sense. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  19. No. There SHOULD be no pieing. That just started. It is wingnut's fault. Only 100 and then 1000s Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  24. Hmm, no. You argument was that God has NO PART in evil in the world. And yet Joseph said that God planned for his brothers to do evil (in hindsight it was good, but at the time, it was certainly WRONG). It makes no difference whether the end game was for the good of the majority. Evil WAS done. It would had been fine and dandy if you had made the argument "God allows evil to happen in the world so that good can result from it." But you did not make that (reasonable) argument. Instead you made this one: I can certainly see where you are coming from. After all, in the end, what happened was good for Joseph so what was viewed as evil from one side was actually good from another. Why is it that this PERCIEVED (as it would have been for the outside viewer not privy to God's plan) evil is in fact good being done while the evil of starving children, or rape, of murder, or torture is just evil that God had no hand in? and you are right. I read into the story. But so do you. It just so happens though, that because I do not agree with your logic, that my reading into it is wrong. You reading into it, which fits what your ideals are, of course, is correct. After all, you are certainly the end all for all things biblical and there is no way whatsoever you could possible be mistaken about anything that has to do with it. Ther rest of us are just ignorant fools who do not possess the profound knowledge that you do. I think we found a succesor to the Thread. Long live Son of Thread! Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  25. I love this thread! The problem is not the bible. The problem is your poor understanding. What worsens your understanding of the bible is your wish not to understand it. If you understood it, it might make you uncomfortable. Arrogant replies are what makes this thread so totally freaking fantastic! Yay!!
