This is easy.. Just tell your mom that you had an abortion a few years back and now you're just trying to make it right. Or since most right-wingers are pro-life but tend to not be as vocal about the need for people to consider adoption, just tell her you're following in her footsteps of helping people to ignore the children waiting to be adopted. Or you could just explain to your mom that it is in fact a loving gesture to do something like this for people who desperately want a child. If he is in good physical shape some DZ's still might let him jump. It's the 5'2" ladies who are 250 that you reeeaally want to avoid. Kind of a rule of thumb is, if it's a shorter distance to walk around someone than to go over top, maybe they can jump. I just want to point out that I think this is a good thing. The packer probably had a much cleaner pack job than you, so it was less bulky and the closing loop was too long. It is a good thing that he shortened the loop to suit his pack job. Yeah it is a pain when you have to change it back for your own pack job.. but having a closing loop that is too loose is just as dangerous as having one that is getting to worn out. I've seen people on here in the past complain about packers doing this, I think people should be thanking their packers for taking extra time to keep them safe. The requirement is to change a closing loop. Since many DZ's just give you one that is pre-made.. not really a big deal if you don't know how to make one yourself. I usually show people how to make them when I check that requirement off of their card. I think that DZ's should liberally give out closing loops for FREE. At one DZ I used to jump at they charged a dollar for a new loop. That caused people to procrastinate about changing it.. I mean c'mon, a dollar? It isn't worth that much. If you just need something to keep the rig securely closed while you're flying.. maybe you could cut up some old shoelaces and finger trap it. Then replace it when you get to where you're going.
