Thanks for the link.. actually, it is just scholarship money. I'm just an undergrad and I don't get involved with funding stuff. The research I'm involved with is already fully funded. But I'm hoping that due to Buffet's donations that it will trickle down to the Gates Research Scholarship that I am applying for and that they will give it to more people.

Ok.. funny homeless story. On the edge of campus (in Seattle) we get a bunch of folks who will stop you on the street and ask you for money. Few weeks ago when I was fresh out of surgery and walking to class with a huge immoblizing brace on my leg and a crutch this homeless guy stops me and asks if I can give him some money. He does a double take and notices the leg and says, "Oh, I'm sorry, you're probably broke too. Sorry to have bothered you. You have a nice day ma'am." I got a homeless guy to feel sorry for me!! It has been almost a year since I finally quit smoking. I haven't cheated the whole time and my lung function has improved significantly! I just need to whinge a little bit. This weekend I am particularly fed up with having an injury!!! It's getting really frustrating because every week the weather is getting crappier and crappier and pretty soon it will be full blown Seattle winter. The relentless rain will probably start at just about the time that my knee is healed enough to start doing fun activities. Don't plan on really skydiving year round unless you like hop n pops. Winter in Seattle is a time to try and hone in on your swooping skills. There will be large stretches of time where the most altitude you will get will be 2,000. But there are always nice places near Seattle to go skiing or snowboarding. You can also get snowshoes and trek around the moutains or go hiking in the rain. (Really not as bad as it sounds.) As far as large DZ's with a good RW scene, Kapowsin used to be pretty good about organizing large belly ways, but I don't know what it is like since they moved. I am sure you could call the DZ and speak to them about what to expect. Snohomish won't let you keep a trailer there and the parties are usually off the DZ if there are any. Some days they will have a good RW scene.. but it is really hit and miss. NorthWest is just opening but has a fair group of Candians and a couple Washintonians who do RW. Anyways.. hope this helps. I've lived here for 3 years now and jumped at Snohomish, Kapowsin and NorthWest. I'm happy we moved up here, but we moved specifically to an area with crappy weather so that I could focus on school. They didn't hurt me at physical therapy today! I finally am able to ride a stationary bike in PT and I swear I have a big grin on my face the whole time! I'm so happy I can do cardio exercise again!! Oh.. and I had an appointment with my advisor today and I only have to take 13 credits each quarter to graduate by June. And... I planted some decorative cabbage, violets and pansies in my garden today. It looks so pretty. And I went shopping. Which I never do.. so that was kind of nice. And my boyfriend is cooking dinner for me tonight! All in all, a really pleasant day.
