Cats like to be thrown across the room. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

Well.. it's done. I'm not real happy with my scores, I got a 1250.. it could be worse. I really dislike the way that they give the test now. It's a real mind-fuck. The verbal section is what killed me! Damn those analogies! "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

Man.. that picture sure gets around the block! I still need to print that off. It's cute. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

Just the plain ol' GRE. Ok. I'm really getting nervous now.. just 2 hours away! "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I wanted to be a skydiver since I was 14 or so. I always wanted to live in California because it seemed so glamorous to me growing up in Redneckville Virginia. I did that, then realized I like Redneckvilles because people are more honest about themselves and care less about appearances. I wanted to become college edumacated and I should get my degree in June. Other things I want is to own my own home and have a kick-ass garden. I want to hike and backpack enough to feel comfortable calling myself a backpacker. I want to make a positive difference in the lives of people that I work with. I want to run a stroke support group and help improve the quality of life of stroke survivors. I want to do research that means something. I want to be on a freefly team. I want to finally feel comfortable doing a 270. I want to have my own dog. I want to stay healthy. HMm.... I've still got a long way to go. Edited to add: And I want to get a 1300 on my GRE.. (but I'll be happy with 1200).. this will happen or not happen in about 6 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I don't think that we're going to get trick or treaters.. we don't really live on a good road for little kids to be walking on. But I may keep a bowl full of fun size kit-kats or snickers just in case. I would feel horrible if a kid came by and I had to let them down! Good on you for giving your gear an inspection yourself and deciding to ask a question when you thought it wasn't right!! And just to support what others have said.. I think that is way too short and my boyfriend, who is a very experienced rigger, concurs. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

That is one cool cake.. maybe I should make one of those for Jeff's birthday! "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

Nice! You must be a great aunt. I love making goofy cakes like that. My last one was a carrot cake at Easter with some bunnies freeflying and holding carrots. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I was a scary clown. I wore Jeff's jumpsuit, a rainbow clown wig and took my time doing some scary clown makeup. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham -
I'm always prepared with my pencils, but I don't have a pocket protector. I just stick them into my ponytail at all angles. That's right.. I'm that cool. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I'm only really dreading the writing part. Timed creativity and ingenuity aren't really my forte. I feel like I've done a good job studying for the other components of the test.. but it just doesn't seem like you can really study much for the writing. Now.. answer me this.. my test goes from 1-5 (prime sleepy time) and I have a morning class... should I skip the morning class (I won't really miss much that I can't make up easily) and relax all morning, possibly get in the groove with a little multiple choice practice around lunch time.. or go to school, kill time on campus and then go take the test? What I am looking for is a response from someone whom I respect telling me to skip class. Now go ahead Krisanne.. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

The GRE finally snuck up on me. I'm not so much nervous.. just dreading taking a four hour long exam tomorrow! Time to go make crepes. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I have so many hikes that I could tell you about.. but unfortunately the hiking season is just about over. There are a few hikes that may be alright on a clear fall day.. but they might be a bit muddy. You would probably want to hike with good boots and some water-proof gear just in case. If you're interested in that, shoot me a pm and tell me about what type of hike you're interested in and I'll give you some options with estimated travel times from Seattle. That reminds me of my idea for a packing video. It would be a babes in bikinis packing video which I would direct. I'm good at teaching packing.

Why does it matter to you if he has biological children or not? He can always adopt. If he wants a vasectomy, he should get one. Personally, I have always thought from a very young age that I do not want kids. I have also always thought (maybe from age 7) that if I was going to have kids I would gladly adopt. My boyfriend (of almost 5 years) has talked about getting a vasectomy but I like using birth control for various reasons and I get it free, so there is really no need right now. If someday I had a bad reaction to birth control or something like that, we would probably discuss a vasectomy very seriously. I would be frustrated as hell if we discussed this, but doctors wouldn't cooperate. I don't understand why so many of you are pushing him to have biological children of his own someday, seriously, why the hell do you care? Tell the doctor that you believe that if you ever changed your mind about having kids, which you consider to be a very unlikely possibility, that you would be more than happy to adopt a child. Then go into a lecture about all the children who are out there that desperately need homes. Tell him that you would personally feel guilty and very irresponsible if you accidentally created a life, due to being unable to have a fool-proof birth control method, and had to put that unwanted child up for adoption. Bring statistics on unwanted children in the US to your appointment to show that you're educated on this matter. That might help. I don't think many people would try to talk someone out of adopting all of their children. So why talk someone out of a choice not to have any biological children of their own. They can still raise children if that is what they so desire. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I don't know... I think my coffee is pretty damn authentic too. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

Start with one easy class that interests you. That is how I got back into school after being a packer bum for a few years. I ended up getting an A in that class and it really inspired me to keep going. Now I'm applying to grad school! "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

What a good morning! I finally got some good sleep last night and woke up to a brilliant cup of coffee. I have to tell you all about this cup of coffee. My coffee comes from here: www.fincalascanas.com Thw owner of this company is a guy that I go to school with. He is getting his degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences too. He is from Honduras and still keeps this coffee farm going down there while working and going to school up here. During the harvest time he takes his three kids and wife down there and they ride horses into the farm. (It's that remote.) Then the whole family and his one full-time employee, el tigre, harvest the coffee and bring it back up to the US where they package and distribute it. The coffee f'in kicks ass. You people can have your shade grown coffee.. protest starbucks, well order some coffee from my buddy Carlos. Direct from the farmer to you. Anyways.. I love waking up to this stuff! Woo. Good morning. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I doubt that taking this class is a total waste of your time. Sounds like you have a bad schedule, and that is a bummer, but you need to look at this from a more positive perspective. Atleast in my school, I need a certain number of credits (180) to graduate. I could have gotten all of my requirements taken care of in much less then 180 credits. So maybe this class will just act as a filler for you. You mentioned that you still remember a lot about biology from highschool.. well, shouldn't that make this class an easy A and a GPA booster? Those classes are always nice. Also, I'm sure that this class can't possibly be the exact same course that you took in highschool. Your teacher may offer a unique perspective and it may allow you to make a very good argument if ever discussing the reality of evolution with someone who doesn't believe. I always think that that sort of knowledge is good to have. The various advisers that I have had have made things a bit harder for me a number of times. But oh well, I certainly didn't need to take meteorology, but I looked at it from the perspective of a skydiver. Knowledge of the weather should be a good thing for a skydiver to have, right? And now that my knee is essentially a baramoter, I should be able to forecast the weather with a smidgen of accuracy. I once had an advisor tell me to sign up for what ended up being the exact same linguistics class (same textbook too) that was offered in different departments in the same quarter. But it ended up being good.. I went to the first day of class, realized what happened and then just picked the teacher and schedule that I liked more and ended up having time to take more psychology classes. Anyways.. that is the end of my input. Oh.. and I got a whole lot of W's and it has never influenced my GPA.. as far as financial aid goes though.. got no words of wisdom for you there. -Karen "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham
