Get good curtains that can block out the sunlight for those mornings when you're hungover. Also for those nights when there's "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I watched that the other night. It was pretty sweet. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

See getting out of the plane is far safer than landing in it..

I'm so happy that my landlord had the house and hot water tank heated with natural gas! Losing the power was fun in our case. The house stayed nice and toasty, we lit a fire and a bunch of candles (which were supervised by us when lit!), had some french bread and cheese and drank some wine. Good evening. -
What in the hell is this??? Need help identifying this

I can't quite tell from the picture.. but if you all have the fake wood paneling I think it is time to paint it. May I suggest a nice subdued grayish-sage-green color with some nice white trim? I think it would play off the new floor nicely. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham -
I'm going to take a shower! Ciao! "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

Yay! Mine is officially over now too! I've got the boy cooking me a nice dinner and we're opening up a good bottle of wine to celebrate my scholarship. It'll be a good night! Too bad he has to get up at 5:45 tomorrow... "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I would do a behavioral test before drinking commensed to determine a baseline comparison of the level of asshole-ish-ness. Then after blood alcohol levels reach a certain point, give your buddies the same behavioral tests again. If the guy who tells you to fuck off and pour him another drink is drinking tequila.. we may have a significant correlation and could possibly infer causation. (Fucking A I've been studying tooooooo much!) "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

Ok.. so you enjoy the taste.. no need to pour it down your throat like with crap liquor. You get my point. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

You know why you don't get hangovers from the good stuff? You don't pound good stuff. You savor it. Just like I never get hungover from expensive wine, just cheap wine. I can't afford a hangover from expensive wine. (Although, that does sound like a good evening!) "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

I think I might have gotten some nonlinear output

I will have a degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences in June. I love the study of speech and language, really fascinating stuff. This major really makes you appreciate the brain! I'll be going on to get my masters to become a certified speech language pathologist. Then I'll probably work in the field for a little bit and I'm thinking I'll end up getting my PhD. Maybe in neurology or speech/language. Pros of this field: Really fascinating stuff, people really need and appreciate the help that SLP's can give, great hours; there is never a speech therapy emergency, great benefits, good pay (average around 50k), very high job satisfaction rates. (+85% of SLP's rated their career satisfaction as high.) You can find a job anywhere, even rural areas. You can work in schools, in private clinics, in hospitals/acute care settings, at universities on research... Cons: Some therapy methods aren't terrible effective (rehabbing people who acquired severe language impairments from a stroke) and much more research is needed. This field is in a bit of a transitional state where insurance companies are demanding a lot more data about therapy efficacy, but we just don't have the woman (or man) power to provide data as quick as they want. In the next few years the requirement to become an SLP will probably change to a clinical doctorate. I love this field! Last night I was studying for a final by explaining to my boyfriend all of the really cool stuff that I've learned. I can babble all night long about the fascinating aspects of speech, language, and hearing. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

Eww!!! Tuberculosis!!! Ever since I saw an infected lung at the Bodies Exhibit that disease CREEPS ME OUT! On a happier note.. here is another cool word: Confabulation- to fabricate new memories that one believes to be true. This occurs during/after instances of amnesia to fill in gaps in memory. What are your favorite words? Post the good ones that you throw around to make yourself appear smart. Here is my all-time favorite word: Forte-a strong point, as of a person; that in which one excels. I don't know why I like it so much. I appreciate that it is short, but a seemingly elegant word. At my home DZ the AFF graduation jump was free. I thought that this was really cool when I was a student. I even kind of used that as a reason in the back of my head to justify the high upfront cost. Although I would have done it anyways.. I don't know if it necessarily increased retention rates.. but I do know that that particular DZ has pretty good retention rates due to the high involvement of a club from the local University. It's also a really cool fun place so that always helps. I think that having atleast some incentive to continue would be a good thing.
