Hi Jon, Yup, the old bite-of-bridle!! Worked fine as long as you didn't try to over stuff the container!!! 'Remember some dude named "birddawg" of soumptin funky like that that went in at Old Elsinore compliments of a "tight loop!!" Had the PC in tow and tried to do a reach-around and dis lodge it and wound himself up in the canopy like a cocoon!! "BSBD!!!!" Inbetween the "Bight-of-bridle" and Hanks' "Curved Pin" was Leo Orlowski's "Polish Pin" a doubled over piece of cutaway cable with a swage to form a loop!! They worked fine "With Elastic loops ONLY!!!" Some dumbshits used them on tight packs with gutted 550 closing loops and I remember "Grubb" had one and stripped off the plastic coating and had a total/PC n toe!!! lucky he didn't get his reserve tangled!! All this happened before the dude that badmouthed this gear in the beginning of this thread was even a tinkle in his daddys' pants!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Sorry but I got play the "your full of shit card" here. 1. 1977 wonderhog SN#944 outside of exposed risers, not much different then todays vector 2's in regards to being closed and jump able. 2. Close up of BOC and bridal on 77 HOG, look much different to you how? 3. Close up of pin. 4. 1974 SST (there is a reason they were called Struggle struggle thump) 5.Close up of SST pin 6. Sport Pro with pins & cones, that SOB is not coming open till you open it! 7. Close up of pins & cones None of those rigs are coming open premature any more then any of todays rigs, all the same rules of yesterday still apply today, 1. watch your handles! (getting in AC, moving in AC, getting out of AC) 2. Gear check your shit! (make sure pins are seated, closing loops are not too long etc.) Most people who make those wild ass claims in todays sport have never jumped this stuff and are only repeating shit they hear or read on the net. Are there better designs in the market place today? SURE there are, however that don't mean an older rig from the 60's or 70's is an automatic death rig and unsafe to jump solo or as a group, they are not anymore endangering to others then any other rig in the air as along as you play by the rules stated above. Yea I know there will a number of people chime in now to say I'm wrong and all that shit, it's all good, don't you worry about it unless it's on YOUR back! Thx Strat!! Got an old WH myself, '76 model. All todays rigs still have 4 flaps a loop and a pin!! So, what's new?? Only thing really diferent is the pin flap improvements other than that it's the same old rig!!! These newbies see old stuff and crap their pants!! They shoulda' been there when we were "developing' new gear!! They forget that the gear that we have today is the product of step-by step development by "US!!!!" Skydivers invented Skydiving Gear for Skydivers!!! Tiddleywinks players sure as hell didn't!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi 1270, 'Gotta old '76 model Stratostar in a Wonderhog!! Only need to get a 26' NAVCON, got the Waters 4-line release, and reline the Strat If I get it together, we can "show up" on a load and maybe that dude will blow chunks or sumptin', I havn't had a good laugh in a long time!! That dude needs a good laughing at!! And, to salt the dude some more, I'll have on my old (It's still race ready) 2-piece Silly suit!! With rig over the shoulder walkin' to the plane, what would Wm. Fawcett or Slim Pickins say???? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

He was asking around on here a few years ago for a cheap source for shotgun shells... Hi JR, A couple a' years ago?? I hope he stocked up, they ain't "Cheap!" No Mo'!! At Wally World Clinton NC a 25 round box of Remington 12 ga. short brass "Game Loads" #6shot will blow hell out of 7 bucks + tax!! Wasn't that long ago the same box of ammo was under $4.00!! WW has 100rnd. boxes of 12 ga. short brass "trap and game" for $23+ tax but it's only #7 1/2 or #8 shot. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

So what you really should say, but are afraid to, is; "Those three people who used guns in self defense should be arrested, and their guns confiscated, because their firearms were illegal."I knew you wouldn't just come right out and say it, plain and simple. I win the $1 bets! Woo-hoo! Good guys are bad guys. Victims are criminals. That's kallend's world. By the way, are YOUR firearms registered? Hi JR, "Whose firearms registered, mine, yours or Kal baby's???" You know Kal has none of his firearms registered because he doesn't have any!!! Kal baby appears to be your classic Hoplophobe!! The anti-gun male. "In short he is a man begging for subjugation. He longs for its' promise of equality in helplessness. Because only when that strange, independent Alpha Breed of Males is deemed helpless along with himself will he feel adequate. Indeed his freedom lies in this other mans' containment." -Julia Gohn- -The anti-gun male- SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

I found that putting a rubber band around my first two toes (outside the toe strap) was way more comfortable than having the rubber band looped around the toe strap Wendy P. Hi Wendy, Thx for the tip! Yup, freefall flip-flops are fun all on a summer's day!! Funny how that goes, got some freefall formation fotos on the wall and when some whuff's see the flip-flopped feet on some of the jumpers theyfreak out,"Aghhhhhhh! What no combat boots!!?????!!!!" I think they're cute, but then I have no fashion sense either. I don't have any though, because I dress pretty boring these days. But I had all kinds of crazy shoes and clothes when I was younger. Hi S-g and mic, Platform flip-flops, the open foot version of "High heeled sneakers!" 'Ya can tell it's Spring cuz in the ladies' shoes secion at Wallyworld the wall is full of ever style, class and variety of "flip-flop!!" Pink, blue, yellow with little rinestones on the thong (like my wife has!!) high heels, low heels, flats and "Platforms!!" Havn't seen any real "Jap-flaps" lately, the ones with the woven straw foot pad. For us guys, there's the black, blue and brown beach bum variety and the coolie ones with the Corona or Budwieser logo on the foot pad. I did find some O.D. and Grey Camo ones at the "Dollar-store." Just right for the fashion conscious militiaman!! For "Dress-up" I found a pair of leather flip-flops thet fill the bill, and don't forget to put a stow band on the toe strap so you won't lose them in freefall!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi Kowboy Kaliforn Kallend, From gungrabbing to Standup Comedy!!!! Man, like you are just too much!! You're probably too young to remember Rusty Warren, and she'd direct "Your Question" to all the men out there,"Men, Do you still beat your wife????,....Why Hell every time !!!" Hi Jen, Not a witness but I've heard. The "Ceremony" you speak of evolved and is I think is mostly a "Texas thing." In the beginning there was no 8-MAM. Then Bob Boquor filmed the first 8-Man back in the mid 60's and the rest is history!! The deal was that whoever got their "SCR" bought a "case of beer" for the jumpers on the dive!! (Thursty bunch of bastards they were!!) Those lurkers, freeloaders, bums and vultures circling the perifery of "The group" might get the dregs out of the empty bottles if any!! The thought of pouring "Good BEER, God Forbid!" on somebody for an "SCR Ceremony" was a Sacrilidge!! One thing for sure, If it was YOU who got your SCR, You took charge of the case and handed out beer to those on the load first!! Unless they got their fist filled with a "COLD BEER!!" some jumpers would withhold signing off your SCR form till You Provided!! If you think of "SCR" as kind of a "frat' then the ultimate "Frat Party" was the "SCR Scrambles" or as we usedta' say,"THE STUMBLES!!!!!" Been there, done that and still have o couple of the T-shirts in the archives!!! , 23DEC72; , 07JAN73. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi Skymama, No, I was in the Skydiving Club and we had our meetings the same time and day as the frats. 'Guess in a way, we were kinda' an independent frat with a particular focus . Other than most of us being students at Southeastern La. College the administration wouldn't even have anything to do with us!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi Steve, "Remember the history of>>>>The Gulch!!!?" "Thoze were the daze my friend, I thought they'd never end>>[and the song plays on]!!! March '73 "The First 'Chute Out' at the Gulch!" 10-MAN Speed Star meet. I think there was 15 teams. I was on the "Otay Bunch" from Sandy Eggo. We did 2 jumps from Beech 18's and 2 from a DC-3. Sat night, the band in the hanger, 2 characters go up and do a night jump and 'bout bounce thru the roof but pull off the low pull and land in front of the open hanger door!! I don't remember the order but the top three teams were Hook, Columbine Turkey Farm and the Allstars, I think?? (This was over 30 years ago!!) I was there, did it and I still have the T-shirt in the archives!!! Sun eve after we left to go back to 'Eggo some joker in a Cessna 310 buzzed the place and clipped a telephone pole, cartwheeled and killed his dumb self!! All kinds of good rumors came out of that one, the dead guy was suppose to be a Nark and had like 10 ID's on him to cover his ass!! The only thing he got covered with was dirt!! Anybody else remember any good low down on that one?? PS, 'Got some 35mm print film in the archives from the meet. Gotta dig em out and see if I can get em put on a disc. Stand by for now. Hi HD, Yup, "Fun Jumper!" Before RW became a Competition Decipline we were all "Fun Jumpers" and then there was the Style and Accuracy Competition set who wouldn't be caught dead touching someone else in freefall God forbid!! Skydiving was serious Style and Accuracy business and no smiling will be tolerated!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi LC, Yer right!!! The Guvmint does NOT have the "Right" to take guns away from reaponsible citizens, or anybody for that matter!! They do have a lot of "Power" to do that though!! This "California long gun "registration" is just typical latte' lippin' liberal politics as usual. Meanwhile back at the ranch: As things spin out of control, remember this:"All Politics in this country now is just dress rehersal for Civil War!" -Billy Beck- AUG2009 Oh is it liberal? Hmmm, why did the NRA revoke GHWB's card? GWb said he would have signed the fortunately sunsetted AWB if it came to him. It sounds good, but the Dems are only slightly more aggressive than the R's at trying to regulate guns. Hi Zim-bob-way Lefty, 'Never said anything about the NRA, GHWB's card,GWb,Dems, Repubs,AWB's,BWA's or BMF's got that!!!?? Go start yer own thread. 'Usedta' live in CA, got a one way ticket outa there some years ago and never looked back!! I don't know how they do it in Zim-bob-way but I hang out in NC these daze and current NC firearms laws have NO Registration of either long guns or hand guns! No licensing of Gun owners either! No Permit is required to carry a long gun or open carry a pistol however a permit is required to either purchase or conceal carry a pistol. All this is a far cry fron CA both politically and geographically!! I love livin' 'round here. Come huntin' season there're more rifles and shotguns hangin ' out in Red Neck Pick up trucks and in the surrounding woods and nobody freaks out!! Meanwhile, all is quiet on the Eastern Front. PS, tomorrow 05JUNE10 is th C&E Gun Show at the Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville, NC too much fun B-There! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi John, I guess the stealthy move by 'Illary to endorse on behalf of the admin. the UNSAT (United Nations Small Arms Treaty) is all smoke and mirrors?? Never mind locally, the boy is thinking "Globally." Supposidlly all this has to go thru Congress and be ratified by a 2/3rds vote blah, blah, blah I know!! Just remember, NAFTA was an "Agreement!!" BTW, This Sat. 05JUNE10 is the C&E Fayetteville NC Gun Show at the Crown Expo Center, at least for now, we still have "Gun Shows!!" I'll give you a full report!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

I used to film the "Ghostriders" Crw team,(Perris) we lost a canopy that way too, we had no doubt , it was a car cover somewhere in Perris! After that, as cameraman, if we had a cutaway, I first caught the reserve opening, then chased the canopy, (if it could be done safely!) Hi Sky, Yup, Ghostriders!! I don't remember how long even before that, someone stole a canopy out by the freeway and that's when Ben Employed Bill Vantassel and the "Bad Spot Cab Company" many moons ago!!
