  2. Firstly, Bram is a badass. Such a patient and very experienced teacher ------------------------------------------------- Yeah, he was great, i'm glad I found him. ----------
  3. Cause I'm free....................Free fallin' -------------------------------------------------------
  4. Atleast it would be better then people picking the goddamned Top Gun theme and Freefalling or Creed's Higher...
  5. I am really a no body on here, I have read your profile. You should be ashamed of your self. The history of your posts seem like a little kid blowing bubbles through a straw in a glass of water! Yeah I know guys dont feed the trolls. I really think the moderator are letting us rip you up for sport before they lock this thread. --------------------------------------------------------
  6. HI all, I just compleated my Vector/Sigma course with Bram Clement in Z-hills. MY jumps 1 solo 2 as pasenger, Bram T-I 3 as T-I, Bram as pasenger 4 " 5 " 6 as T-I my wife as pasenger 7 as T-I Bram as pasenger USPA cat.B dive 8 T-I wife as pasenger 9 T-I Bram as pasenger 10 T-I wife as pasenger Out of 10 tandem jumps Bram was with me on 6. I would not want to be a TE because I would not want to trust a new T-I but he did/does. I think if you wanted to be a TE you should jump as pasenger. OFcourse what do I know! ------------------------------------------------------------
  7. What about the reverb/echo in the bath that can be herd on the other end of the phone, I am guilty of "multi tasking" and I laugh to my self when they say I can here an echo what are you doing? Ha! -----------------------------------------------------
  8. thanks guys, so when the canopy starts to hunt and seek an off heading, and the jumper offer to much input, or over corrects. ------------------------------------------------------------
  9. Just saw something funny that I thought I would share. So I'm at Dillons, and there are two lanes open. In one lane, two guys, each one buying a bunch of roses. In the other lane, three girls, buying a total of 10 gallons of ice cream, choc. sauce, cookies, caramel, and butter scotch. Now that's a picture you can only see on Valentine's day.
  10. What did the executive board member/s of the USPA say when you contacted them about this subject?
  11. Few months ago a buddy did a hop-n-pop with a 5 second delay, his Vengeance 97 or 98 (I'm not sure) spun up on him and he had to chop. He was loaded at almost 2/1. Is there a tendency for high loaded high performance canopies to spin up on sub-terminal deployments? Thats what he and other blamed it on, and I was wondering if that is a factual statement.
  12. In the USA all electrical equipment is usually rated at 120 vts. Some light bulbs have a 130 vt. rating. We all know what (electrician) is meant by 110. 120/240 or 110/220 and in some cases 115/130 Square D brand makes breakers in 10 amp ratings also. The single 30 and 50 amp breakers are for RV hook ups etc......I can imagine much other equipment rated at 30 or 50 that isn't 240 vts.
  13. Thanks for thoes pictures. On the 401 looks like I can see hinges and an extra side to the door that is open. This could possably make the door wider for tandems and big ways, however the tail look awfull low, and close to the door. --------------------------------------------------------
  14. Has anyone over there contacted the local new media about this. They have a ways of digging up dirt that you would never think of. How about a full page add about the lies of take offs and landings in the local newspaper. Most tax payers read the paper. If they want a war give um one! It saddens me to here this news from Gold Coast. That facility is a very nice one. Hot showers, nice bathrooms, large sun deck, RV hookups. Mike started that DZ with a C-182 and a couple of tarps on the ground to pack. Give them hell!
  15. Forgive me I didn't complete the sentence. I meant to ask if a handy cam would help in debrief the tandem progression students body position? I am asking because I'm wondering if a handy cam could get the full body from the side wile mounted on the hand.
  16. Adjustabal main lift webs on student rigs have caused several of our students to have a chest strap under their chin, making it impossible to see or steer clearly to land. There was a publication about a student with a broken neck due to this. I have been lucky enough to never have had a student with this situation, but other at my home DZ have. I am interested in learning from those with more experience. I usually lift up on the BOC and judge how far the yoke is lifted off the students shoulders. I then adjust the MLW so the yoke is tighter. Is this the best way to judge? Thank you ------------------------------------------------------------
  17. cypres is more expensive than vigil... how did you manage that? ----------------------------------------------------------- Credit card \ -----------------------------------------------------------
  18. I wanted one, really bad I wanted one. I could not fine one to buy with money in hand! I per ordered when they first came out ($800) I think. I wound up having to buy a Cypress2. They had all the adds in Parachutist, they were the talk around the DZ. @ years and I have never seen one. SO....Who has one?
  19. I'm 6'1" myself...240 (what I call winter weight) and down to 227 or so in the summer (jump) months. I could not find anything as far as a rig was concerned, used, that would fit me and the canopy that I felt were best for me then. So I ordered a new one made to fit, with articulated harness/hip rings, and the comfort zone soared. Like was said, especially in small or cramped spaces. I have a wings W-27, which is quite large. Have to go with all the others opinion, with my limited jump #'s, there are lots of other stuff around that will work, but maybe a "new" rig is in order. Good Luck. Mark
  20. Thanks man, don't wanna rip a tail off. It is the only plane we have! HA!
  21. Thanks guys, Forgive me for my inexperience, I have noticed the new proficiency cards for S/L I to now include Direct bag rigging. I didn't have to back when I went through the program. Question: Can a static line with a flex pin used in PC assist, be converted to Direct bag? Basically am I to understand that the Direct bag is attached to the S/L and sorta releases the canopy like the modern free bag on a reserve? I learned with PC assist and have no experience with Direct bag other than watching old war movies where Military jumpers bomb the door and you can see the bag trailing the plane connected to the S/L. Note, I will not make any mods to our existing system nor will I conduct a Direct bag jump prior to training, just asking generically. Thank you J
  22. We crucified ourselves for not doing gear checks, but it happened. and maybe others can take home a lesson. ----------------------------------------------------------- A few months ago I was sittng in student position in a very small 182. I was crammed in so tight I figured I would not be able to get up on my knees on jump run and not get a gear check. At about 7 grand it started raining and the pilot decended to land. He was able to taxi in to the hanger so we could all get out of the plane and be dry. I was the first out and as I stepped out my reserve pop top hit the step of the cessna! If I would have climbed out from a seated position in the plane at 10 grand I and the rest of the load probobly would have been screwed.
  23. Agreed. I have to say that I am not a huge fan of tandem progression. mostly due to me. I find that unless there is a serious body position problem I will correct it myself subconciusly. ( the whole self preservation thing) I then deny that student any feedback on minor position problems because i dont realize it
  24. Guess I'm lucky, wait I know I am. I met my wife on a jump plane 3-1/2 yrs ago! been married for 3 yrs. We like to travel to large DZ's for boogies or coaching. It works out well. I have slightly more jumps than she, but am in no way dominate. Sometimes we actualy have to stop talking about skydiving, it is the most talked about subject in our home. No kids, no plans for any. J
