    I believe that a complete profile is significant in that it gives the reader an opportunity to judge the relative value of advice given on a particular topic. Is this bit of advice on canopy control coming from someone with 15 jumps on a Manta 300 or from someone with 3500 jumps on high performance canopies? The answer to that question carries a lot of weight when deciding if the advice is worth contemplating. It isnt the be all and end all, but it definitely has value and people should keep it current if they plan to post a lot. __ My mighty steed

    You said it Frenchy :-) I second that. Ara, you say you only want to do it a few times, so I have to assume that you already know that its not a particularly good idea. Why not just listen to your common sense rather than your mp3 player. Its obviously talking to you. So listen to it. Distraction only requires one clean shot at you to turn you into a smear on the pavement. How many shots do you plan to let it have at you? For myself, one is too many. __ My mighty steed

    I owned one briefly and I didn't care for it for a couple reasons 1. The inside of the face frosted over on me in freefall on several occasions. 2. It felt very flimsy and gave me no confidence that it would provide even moderate protection in case of a blow on the head I replaced it with a FreeZR from Paratec and I love it. Its big enough for my large head with glasses and doesnt have the problems I experienced with the Havok. Plus, it doesnt look funny __ My mighty steed

    No, it was just super harsh and pretty much uncalled for. Certainly not something to be directed at someone that is simply asking for advice. Its true, people with little experience should not be giving advice. I dont give advice on skydiving. As an experienced human being, though I feel fully qualified in saying that crapping on the newbie thats simply asking for advice and information is just nasty and uncalled for. __ My mighty steed

    Charging for smokes 50 years ago isnt really of any consequense and whether or not it actually happened at all is based on hearsay. Cigarettes are hardly life or death (no matter how hooked you are) and I doubt that the Red Cross provide them at all now, free or otherwise. Your other bad experience sounds like they were trying to protect people from other unscrupulous folks trying to capitolize on others suffering. A worthy effort even if some feelings were hurt in the process. Better that than people in need being taken advantage of, wouldnt you agree? __ My mighty steed

    That was how I looked at it. Its easy to think about your liquid capital, which is likely all budgeted already, and conclude that you cant donate. Think of it as giving up a few fun jumps. If you have budgeted for 6 jumps this month, make 3 instead and donate the ticket money. Its a small sacrifice for a good cause. They need the relief more than we need those jumps. __ My mighty steed

    People that fear for you are gonna fear even more if they hear stories like these. I do not choose to share incident reports with my family for just that reason. It only makes life harder for them and does nothing for me so why put them through it or increase their anxiety? __ My mighty steed
