I know that my bank exists, and that there is a margin for error when investing. I know that planes exist, and that accidents can happen. He chooses to hold a belief - with 100% certainty - in something for which there is no evidence, and he chooses to not articulate the reason why, because it wouldn't be convincing to anyone other than himself. That's a straw man you have created. Most ID guys belief's are not that simple. While I "believe" in ID, I prefer not to debate it as I'm not adequately equipped to do so. So you choose to hold a position that you admit you cannot justify (other than internally within your own head). If that's faith, then faith equals voluntary ignorance. How do you define success? According to you a murder rate 1/50th of the U.S. is a huge failure if the murder rate nudges up a bit. Nobody gets to see the alternative, you're left drawing comparrisons between different situations but when you draw comparrisons between the UK and the US while ignoring absolutely glaring disparities in murder rates which completely devastate any sad point you're trying to make you look completely intellectually dishonest. 1/50th the murder rate John. If you were smart you'd envy that kind of disparity, but you're too busy polishing your AR-15 to notice, thinking it'll save you when it's your turn. This is one of the best posts I've ever read. I sincerely hope that he feels ashamed of his actions. Youthfull rebellion to authority is one thing but he crossed the line with that stunt. Perhaps an apropriate addition to his sentence would be to have him go to the legion hall or a veterans home and apoligize directly to them for his actions in person. Seeing the shattered bodies of men who gave everything they had so he could live the priviledged life he lives would make him truly see how horrid it was for him to piss on their memorial. Okay, then the same rule should apply to you. I think that you are a disgrace to humanity for suggesting that this guy should be killed. As others have pointed out, your attitude is the very personification of the kind of macho bullshit that causes wars and other fucked up situations. Your eventual concession that you "didn't really mean it" means nothing after you've advocated your own perverted blend of vigilante justice, torture, and execution.
