Wow, this topic has taken off, now hasn't it!!! Glad to see it. Here are a few things that I would like to point out, you guys and gals can take it for what it is worth. 1. The BIC program was introduced to "Teach people how to teach", that was basically it. There are some people that desperately needed this, but for the most part, I don't feel it to be a good course to HAVE to attend. 2. The Coach Course, as stated by the USPA, was introduced to "get people that do not qualify for the AFF Instructor Program more involved in our sport". Basically, it is something for the 100 jump wonder to do to get his jumps paid for. I agree with several people on here that 100 jumps is NOT someone that needs to be taking people up and teaching them what they are doing wrong, or being able to judge what they are doing right. And lets not forget that a Coach IS permitted to give the Ground Course for their Level 1 AFF skydive. Does everyone honestly believe that someone with 100 jumps is perfectly qualified to teach something like this. Hell, I have 1400 jumps and there are things that I forget and overlook. (*But that may be because I suck) Anyway, I am glad that all of you have given your aspect on all of this, please continue! Ok guys, time to hit on a touchy subject. Feel free to post your views on this, I'm sure that I have not included all of the options for answers on here so let it out. Personally, I think that the program is a waste. I feel that it should be part of the sport for the up jumpers to include the students to improve their skills like the upjumpers did when I came in the sport 10 years ago. Maybe I am just overlooking the obvious, but why should these jumpers have to pay extra to advance. Us, as experienced jumpers should want to do that out of kindness! Oh let me just tell you guys how much my position sucks on this whole topic. It just broke the $2.00 mark here in Alabama last week. Well, I own a Pest Control Company. I DRIVE FOR A LIVING!!! I have to fill up my freakin' S-10, (*Yeah, had to give up the Dodge Ram 1500, 360 V-8 that gets 11 miles to the gallon) on average, 2 or 3 times a week, what should be about $18-$24 to fill, is costing me over freakin' $30.00 a pop. That is $90.00 a freakin' week just for freakin' gas. Can everyone sense that bitterness that I through in there, cause I was laying it on pretty thick!!!! I would definitely say something. If you didn't, and the person that you liked found out anyway, you would definitely pay a price. My only suggestion would be to jump more. I used to be like that myself, but the more that I jumped the more that went away. You'll get used to it, I promise!!!
