Ok, I will have to agree with most when they say that the Xaos-21 is the best opening canopy going. Most definitely. Doesn't matter how I pack my 78 Sq. Ft. Xaos-21, it is always a very soft opening. It is a very stable canopy, does not buck around in high winds like the problem that I had with the Crossfire2. BUT, I will have to disagree with most when they say that it has little front riser pressure. I do a 270 degree hook and find that the front riser pressure is very heavy. Not sure if it is just that I am used to the Stiletto 97 that I flew prior to this, but it does seem to be heavier! This is not very bad, just heavier than what I am used to. Is it too heavy, NO! But did take some getting used to. I fly camera with mine and feel completely confident with the openings. I also use it for my wingsuit jumps and have not had a problem as of yet. Very stable, predictable, consistant openings make this canopy a definite "Must have". But do not hop on this puppy with a high wing loading until you are very experienced. This is not something to "Try out" unless you absolutely know what you are doing.

Ok, I have come up with the idea to composite a "Fantasy Band".. A band in which would include what I think is THE BEST at what they do and would make the band completely awesome. I am very interested in hearing all of you guys' input as well. Here are my choices: Lead Singer: Jonathon Davis- Korn (*Or Eddie Vedder- Pearl Jam) Lead Guitar: Eddie Van Halen- Van Halen, Of course! Bass: Flea- Red Hot Chili Peppers Drums: Travis Barker- Blink 182 Well, that is what I think, would make a kick ass band. What is yours? Man, I wish that were feasable!!! I emailed Jari with the pic, he was very cool about putting it on the front page of BM's website, but I don't think I am going to get a suit out of it. Would be incredibly nice to have that though. I did, however, bring it to his attention that you recommended that, thanks for the boost!!!! Hell, I would settle for a BM Gear Bag. I actually had a "Buzzkill" aproach me on the Wingsuit forum telling me that rumor has it that it was not actually a quote that Leonardo made. Not sure what that was all about. Unknowing attempting to take out all 4 wheeled vehicles remotely close to the landing area!

Here are pics of the newest tattoo. Let me know what you all think. I couldn't get the close-up to download, too big! So here is what the lettering says: "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes looking skyward, for there is where you have been and there is where you will always long to return" Unknowing attempting to take out all 4 wheeled vehicles remotely close to the landing area!

Well, wanted to swing this by everyone, going to get a tattoo this evening. Let me know what you think about it? Going to be the Birdman Insignia, about 8" on back with the Leonardo Da Vinci Quote: "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there is where you have been and there is where you long to return" underneath it. I think it is going to be bad ass... Let me know what you guys think. Unknowing attempting to take out all 4 wheeled vehicles remotely close to the landing area!

Oh hell yeah, I was recovered about 3/4 weeks after the brilliant incident. Not sure, but I think I left a little more pride on that hitch than I first thought. But yes, everything is fine, thanks for asking and bringing that back up. Unknowing attempting to take out all 4 wheeled vehicles remotely close to the landing area!

question for Velocity pilots w/ Stiletto experience.
namdrib replied to namdrib's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Ok, I am currently flying a Stiletto 97 loaded at 2:1, my question is regarding the Velocity. I would like to venture into this canopy but would like some comparison between the two. I do 270 hooks and am not getting the distance that I think I should get on my swoop. The Stiletto seems to die out rather quickly. I also shoot video for tandems so I would like to know if the velocity's openings are soft and consistant. Any information comparing the two would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Does anyone know of someone that repairs BM suits or is it best just to send them to Birdman, Inc.? I messed mine up on Sunday and wish to get it repaired but don't know where to send it. I have a small hole in the "Ass Spoiler" and a large hole right beside the stitch of the ass spoiler of my S-1. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh man, you HAVE to be jumping a Pro-Track. I thought the same thing until I jumped the Neptune. Kept thinking to myself, "Why in the hell am I not doing any better?" But that is the reason, thought I really sucked there for a while. As the other pointed out, time your video's or borrow a Neptune, you will be surprised. I was. Just thought I would start up an interesting thread to see some others personal best times for freefall. Personally, I almost beat my personal best last Sunday with 2 minutes, 42 seconds. My personal best is 2 minutes and 48 seconds. That was exiting a King Air from 13,500 and deploying at 3,500 feet with a Skyflyer. Would love to know the distance covered on that one. Post away, my fellow flockers. Unknowing attempting to take out all 4 wheeled vehicles remotely close to the landing area!
