  1. That's f'ing brilliant man. How come I haven't thought of that. I started BASE a week before memorial day this year. I've done 48 BASE jumps and 45 skydives since.
  2. Can you explain that again. I don't understand. It sounds like your saying that running the leg straps through the buckles increases your chance of incorrectly running the chest strap through it's buckle.
  3. Yep. Or I suppose if you used to strong of velcro, maybe?
  4. I haven't done this, yet, but don't see any problem with it. Can you clarify the issue with threading the legs straps while the rig is over your shoulders?
  5. From what I have read and been told, it was a no slider/slider down jump.
  6. Can someone name 3, 4 and 5 please. Edit to Add: Nevermind, I found them on the list. I had a feeling the black and white was Carl.
  7. I hope they're hook knife experts A lady biffed in under a spinning canopy on a jump from the space needle in 96 because she had the control lines routed through her slider and rings. However, from what I've heard she didn't have a tailgate (wasn't commonly in use back then, if in use at all).
  8. 1.Packing symmetry 2.Maintain line tension 3.Lines in the middle fabric on the outside 4.Bridle/PC attachment symmetry 5.Shouldn't be able to lift the rig off the ground by the bridle I'm assuming everyone agrees on those.
  9. If you tried that with me while I was drunk, it would probably become a fight. Depends on how smooth you are
  10. Gotcha. This method might contribute to not inflating as fast as you'd prefer, but if you're at a high enough object and not going to the basement to pitch, this sure beats using a pull up cord to pack your PC.
  11. Great point. If I decided I wanted to go stowed (for some reason) on a low altitude jump where any hesitation must be avoided, I wouldn't use that method.
  12. For anyone that uses tools to pack there PC, of the methods i've been shown, this is the one I like the best. Take a look at my profile for my experience level though before you take any rigging advise to heart. Those of you that don't, I thought you might get a kick out of my artwork. Edited to add attachment change "this" to "artwork"
  13. I think you mean to say that he possibly had a sensory overaload.

You're attached to a rope, I'm sure you could figure a way to rescure yourself Maybe if you had ascenders on you?
  15. If it's better practise overall, then why would anyone that fly's a 21/27 cell have any trouble landing a big tarp.
  16. What a great picture. I'm glad you brought that one back
  17. So if the BD launch point is to the left of the center of the arch (hypothetical), if you took 2 seconds and had a 120 left would you have to worry about the steel? If it's to the right of the center use the same question but switch the left's for right's. Also, is the 2 seconds recommendation, open at 2 seconds and you will avoid steel, or deploy at 2 seconds and you will avoid steel. Open at 2 seconds makes me think the steel is only 60-70 feet down, deploy at 2 seconds might be more. Just so everyone knows why I'm inquiring (in case this seems like a stupid topic), I'm wondering if a slider up PCA off of the bridge is practical. Knowing that offheadings are an issue of slow slider up deployment, the steel is obviously a consideration.
  18. I figured she meant the fact that they might jump off chest to the wind and rely on air to get them belly to earth.
  19. Do anyone know if two seconds means that it is 60-70 feet?
