Obviously his plan wasn't that great since security was able to handcuff him to the rail, but I figure if his plan was good enough to get on and off without much notice, and daytime was the only time possible, then it would have been cool as hell. As far as stunt junkies, maybe the stunt was to show how a base jumper would approach an object, anylize acesss and the jump and then perform that. Buying the access doesn't really work for most of us. From what Nick says it sounds like there are definitely better times to do it. My choice would be a Thursday night. Is a night jump possible for that particular object? I doubt it. Maybe it was supposed to be a stunt junkies episode, that was based on the fact that if it didn't work out they had to fire him and deny everything. Wow there is a lot of christianity preaching in this thread. I thought it was do you believe in god, not to you believe Jesus was gods son. For everyone that said how can you believe that everything just started from nowhere, my thought is that the human mind (for some reason) has to have a begining and an end to really contimplate something. I think that it is possible that a beggining is something that exists only within biological things. Mass doesn't have an end does it? As far as we know. It just changes from one form to another. So why did there have to be a beggining. Because our brains can't comtimplate otherwise. Here's a good one for you. If god is all powerful, can he build a rock so big that even he can't lift it. Does that only apply to sub-terminal slider up? If so, why? Edit to add: I'm guessing you don't have as much data on sub-terminal slider down and terminal, but does anyone else have data about those types of jumps with f111 compared to zp vented? It'd be awesome if they ran a wire from the shift lever to a switch on the left hand that he could shift with his thumb. You don't need the rear brake to drive off a cliff right? Honestly, I don't know what to think about him. Other than what I read from the other thread I have no info on the subject. I'm guessing the people that have commented nicely toward him know more than I do. A few things I would want to know if I was going to help him out, did you want people to think that you commited suicide via a BASE jump? Is that what you said in the letter and phone call? In the other thread it says your friend Mike called your sister and told her that you had died days ealier in a jump and that was all he told her, did he just say that and hang up? Did you ask him to? Did you want to commit suicide, or just to dissapear? Either way, why? Was leaving your truck behind so that people wouldn't look for you, or so that they would? I highty doubt any of the WA locals have a picture of me, or know anymore about my background than I have told them. A persons life contains much more than they can probably ever share with someone other than a lifelong friend or lifemate. and Zoter, it says he had a serious leg injury and his heart stopped, so it was probably a femur injury. Nicely put Jaap. I also thought it was interesting that Nick D is right about me not being alive in a world where BASE didn't exist. I was born in march 84. Even if it becomes a felony people will base jump, and after a few three strikes you're out cases, where they try to send people to jail for life, because they were base jumping, I think they'll realize it shouldn't be a felony. I'm sure most if not everyone trust robibird, but I would like to second that. I tried a rollover doing what Tom A called the french method (toggles in hand, not stowed) and totally botched it. I'm used to having my hands on the lines/end of risers when I do rollovers (so I can control line tension), so by instinct I put my hands straight up when I launched. Did a full flight rollover. The opening was nasty. I had a good launch and as everything was tensioning (with me under it) it bowtied and turned 90 left. I lost a lot more altitude to pressurization than I have with DBS. I don't have many but on my other 7 rollovers my body was about 50ft below the exit at controllable pressurization. On this one It was about 90-100ft. I know because of the height of the object and the approximate height I was from the water when I had pressurization. I also second the vents being great for unpacked (and great for a bunch of other reasons). I did a 200ft rollover on an Ace and it was 6 seconds from launch to landing, about 4 second canopy flight (partly because I surged it in). Same rollover with my BlackJack was 15 seconds from launch to landing, about 13 second canopy flight.
