  1. IMO this is the funniest misconception ever. How so? What does it cost to take a picture, look at it and then delete it? Have you ever shot with film?
  2. Does anyone here have any experience with THIS company? They claim: "Feel the adrenaline pumping rush of freefall, and experience the roaring sound of the wind. Just imagine the thrill of falling from an amazing altitude of up to 14,500 feet while skydiving over Long Island just minutes away from the heart of New York! With state of the art equipment New York Skydiving professionals will guarantee that your skydiving adventure will be an incredibly exciting and safe. Call inSight NYC today to set up your skydiving experience including transportation & catering." I don't know ... it sounds awful "skyridy" to me What do you guys think?
  3. The best place to start is on the ground. Take the camera everywhere you go. Take pictures of everything you see. Try all the settings. Learn Photography. The luxury of digital photography is that you can experiment at no cost!
  4. I forgot what we were talking about .... Oh yeah: Iconic sports symbols. It seems like the Parachute Closing Pin is really unique in that respect.
  5. I think so, but the question is: Is a base jumper engaging in the sport of "Skydiving".
  6. Yeah ... and I thought those control lines not running through rings in the rear risers looked kinda strange too. Oh Yea and NO RESERVE handle either.
  7. Thanks for pointing that out! I fixed the OP.
  8. I know. You didn't answer the question though ;-)
  9. What do you think? Is "skydiving" a valid keyword for THIS picture?
  10. I'm a diver and I don't have any idea what a "savoie tattoo" is Can you post a picture? Google is your friend. Yeah I found that first link right away. It's really cool. Those helmets have a artsy look to them I think.
  11. Looking good. I'd speed up the phone number flying in a bit, and maybe slow down the spin out at the end just a tad.
  12. Hi Anne! Like I said when we met, what's really spooky is that I had started this thread not more than five minutes before I showed up at the pharmacy. What's up with that?? Wooooooooooooo ....
  13. Beautiful images. Excellent composition. Real art. You need to change the gallery software though. It's too slow. Don't force the visitor to view the images in a slide show.
  14. I'm a diver and I don't have any idea what a "savoie tattoo" is Can you post a picture? recreational diver??? a savoie is a diving helmet, its a pretty gothic looking air hat. they were made by joe savoie those hats are loud as fuck, and pretty much a piece of shit but some guys swore by them. joe was good people though may he R.I.P. Yeah ... that would be recreational diver for me I would even go so far as to say that I'm a fair-weather, warm-water, recreational diver Those helmets are pretty cool!
  15. It would be cool if the number stopped in the center and the wingding thingy kept on flying off the screen
  16. To me it seems like the number should also just stop in the center. I like the soundtrack.
  17. I'm a diver and I don't have any idea what a "savoie tattoo" is Can you post a picture?
  18. I'd dress up as a bowling pin if that was my bowling ball!
  19. I'm looking for examples of tangible objects used as symbols or charms. Sheesh!
  20. C'mon you guys! Work with me here ... I'm trying to find some serious examples. The caribiner around the neck; that might just qualify for what I'm looking for. The criterion is: If i saw a person wearing THIS they *are* a climber, right? A caribiner on the belt or waist with keys on it? Nah ... more likely just a nerd who's found a deal at Harbor Freight Tools [Wink]
  21. I don't think my XF2 would have survived something like that. I came real close once to chopping it, perhaps 1 second more.... Hmmm...there's a vidi here somewhere in this stack of DV tapes...
  22. You guys all suffer from ADD dontcha Edited: Oh ... that should the SADD, shouldn't it.
  23. Yes...I've seen various charms used by SCUBA divers too, but there doesn't seem to be any single universal symbol for SCUBA divers. Something like an O-ring from a regulator doesn't seem to offer any charming properties
  24. ... that has a tangible symbol as powerful as the closing pin, so small and artistic, that a large proportion of the participants wear one as a charm or piece of jewelry? Examples? I'm starting out researching this and would appreciate some leads from you guys. Thanks! (My apologies if this is a duplicate thread, I did a quick search, but didn't find anything here)
