Out of the 3 I share my home with now, my guess is one would hate the foil and stay away, the other two would like it, roll around on it, etc. I used to have a cat that would pee on plastic if you left it lying around and my guess is he would pee on foil too.

There was something on the local news about this a few months ago, and whether or not it was yet another substance to test professional athletes for. -
My cat Roger would consider a plant in a hanging basket a "challenge" and my guess is he'd find a way to get to it.
-
I gave up on keeping any plants inside a long time ago. I swear using the "cat grass" actually contributed to the problem because if they know its OK to eat one plant, they think ALL plants are fair game. And remember, you can train a cat not to do something in front of you, but they'll still do it when you aren't around.

Honestly, you really should stop beating yourself up. You did notice and got her to the vet. Her condition is diagnosed and you're well on your way to getting it under control. You did OK!
-
Well, I never let the vet give any of my cats more than one vaccine at a time because in the past they've been listless for a day or two afterwards. If they only get one they seem just fine. I think its just an overload on their systems. Babies go through the same thing after they get shots. I have housecats with limited contact with other animals, so I generally refuse the rabies shot (I've been told annually is overkill anyway.) If they really fight me about it or I need to comply with my city's requirements, I agree to bring them back in a few months. Yeah, that works out to two vet visits per year and is harder on my budget but easier on them in the long run.

Honestly, I don't think she's trying to "convert" him or cram veggies down his throat. To be fair, I think she's just looking for more "animal friendly" foods that will appeal to him.

Zipp Fizz is an energy drink, not a sports drink, or a drink you take to stay hydrated. Torch hydrate is another product I know of that would work as a substitute, but again, not as cheap as just watering down some gatorade. They market it as both and I did throw in the discalaimer about the caffeine. But, it is sugar fee and has the electrolytes, potassium and vitamins.
-
A "splash" is probably less than a "squirt" but I guess that depends on who is doing the splashing and squirting.
-
Try Zipp Fizz- you add it to water. I get mine at Costco. It is sugar free and loaded with vitamins. It also has caffeine but they make a "kid friendly" version without it.

I'm probably the polar opposite of a vegetarian- my eating habits are probably closer to his! But there are certain veggies that I do like so here goes................ Instead of steaming, try roasting the veggies with fresh herbs, garlic and olive oil. Works with green beans, asparagus, tomatos- pretty much anything. (of course, I'd probably toss a little butter and parmesan cheese on there too, but..........) If you can, look for walnut oil or something like that. I've used the walnut oil on aspargus and it came out really nice. Sesame oil has a strong but nice nutty flavor as well- you can always use just a splash of the nut oil for flavor and balance it out with something more neutral like canola. And, for mushrooms- I also like them sauteed with butter and a little beef stock BUT you can use olive oil, red wine and either veggie or mushroom stock. (Or that "better than bullion" stuff they sell in the stores? I have a hard time finding the mushroom variety, but veggie is always available.) I also find eggplant really hearty and substantial, and if it is cooked right, its really good. I've got a great sweet potatoe recipe, but it involves a LOT of butter.

A lot of us post from work. Web sense, etc...... One job I had blocked incoming and outgoing emails that contained "questionable" language.

Is it just the new "whackos" you are objecting to? Did they forget the password and secret handshake?

I've never had a flu shot, and honestly, I don't think I've ever really had the "flu" either. I'm good for maybe one winter cold a year which may or may not cause me to stay home from work for a day, and may or may not result in a cough that lingers for a while. Its been years since I was sick enough with a fever, etc., to stay home any longer than a day. For the most part, I am pretty healthy and I figure there is no reason to jinx that with a flu vaccine. I was at my doctor's on Friday. They asked if I wanted one while I was there but didn't push the issue when I declined.

There's just something about a Jack in the Box taco! We don't have them anywhere near me but if I am visiting Texas, California or St. Louis, a trip to Jack in the Box is always on the itinerary!

Could it be something simple like he's afraid of storms?

I was in a similar situation with an older stray I took in several years ago. She was a really sweet gentle cat but my "boys" (normally really good cats also) were horrible to her- more intimidation than actual violence! I've never had that problem with a new kitten. I tried for almost 2 years in a one bedroom apartment and my mom finally took her in and treated her like a princess right up through her final days.

I've never tried the caps. All of my cats have their claws and I trim them periodically. My feeling is if I can get them to stay still long enough to put those darn caps on, then keeping their nails trimmed should be a piece of cake. As far as the OP is concerned- I doubt its really a case of claws vs. no claws. In my experience, its much harder to introduce an adult cat into a household that already has cats than it is to bring in a kitten. Adult cats (male and female) seem to be naturally protective of a kitten and naturally territorial with other adult cats. Anyway, I'm sorry you have to let her go and I hope you can find her a good home - preferably a home where she can be the "queen".

Now that's a scary thought! Warped with a "mini me" ???

I'm trying to be strong, but I'm not sure how much more I can take.

Hey Chris, I know this isn't easy right now but try to focus on the positive and think about where you've come from and how much better you are now than you were 2 years ago. I know it has to be scary and I know it must feel like a huge set back, but truthfully, right now you don't know what it is. It could be a simple matter of adjusting your meds or your diet, right? Just wait and see what the doctors have to say and keep moving forward, one day at a time just like you have been. You'll get through it! Hugs and stuff! maura -
2 questions--- How did you talk her into it? And when is the party? Congrats!
-
I think you can express your concern without calling her stupid. Say it once- she's young, and planning to marry someone she can't possibly have time to get to know, that you're concerned for her and you only want her to be happy. Say it the one time then just be there for her. If you push too hard, you'll push her away and when she needs a friend most (like when her dream world falls apart) she won't think she can go to you anymore.
-
The fact that you are annoyed at being politely turned down says a lot more about you than it does about her.
-
Just remember- God makes them cute so you won't kill them when they chew up your favorite couch! I would be a very bad dog mommy - I don't think I could say no to that face!
-
I was just kidding. What you describe sounds really nice but way more than what I would expect for a "regular" date. Then again, its been a while since I actually "dated" so who knows?
