    Bytch's Storm

I don't think the people in Haiti think Jeanne is wimpy!
  2. Oh, me too! I want to see how it ends. But I'm not going to the bookstore at 6:00am just to find out. I'm sure I will pick it up tomorrow or the day after, though.
  3. I didn't have any problem getting a first edition copy of the last one without preordering or waiting in a long line, so I'm just taking my chances again this time! Even the last Harry Potter book (which I did pre-order) was available pretty much everywhere!
  4. One of my cats is really good about it, one acts like I'm torturing her and always has. And now I've got a kitten too- he's fun- NOT!! But that reminds me, I need to get him tonight! Declawing is really disfiguring and cruel. And the thing is, most people make that decision when the cat is still a young kitten. Kittens have really really sharp claws, they're very playful, usually not well behaved, and into everything. They get past that stage. My adult cats use their claws on their scratching post, but almost never on the furniture and never intentionally on people. (Since they use their back ones for balance, ocassionally I'll get scratched when one of them jumps off my lap or something!)
  5. I never understood why they didn't vote Boston Rob and Amber off last time. Those guys were DUMB!
  6. Well, that's part of the game. They can get rid of the fat slob who can't even crawl across a balance beam anytime! He's no real threat to anyone!
  7. They did the men vs. women thing a couple of years ago too. Eventually the "tribes" merged anyway. I didn't watch much of that season, but I remember the women getting pretty catty over a granola bar wrapper or something!
  8. You won't play air guitar for me! You're gone! Yeah, he creeps me out!
  9. Water training is fun. Suck it up and do it!
  10. I think the woman he's having the conversations with is his mother. (Next time you want to marry someone you've only known a week, just remember this!)
  11. Correction: Claire didn't fuck the gallery owner. She fucked Billy Chenowith, the bi polar schitzo brother (now apparently properly medicated) of Nate's fruit loop on again girlfriend, who is also her new art teacher. She got the gallery show by fucking Jimmy who is somehow related to the gallery owner.
  12. Chances are your relationship will either suffer or get stronger. (Maybe even both, in the long run.) You aren't exactly yourself when you're injured and your SO is having to do a lot more for you. The combination can strain the strongest relationship. As the person who is injured, you really need to make an effor not to take your frustrations out on her and to realize that while this has been really tough on you, it hasn't exactly been a cake walk for her. Good luck, blue skies and continued healing! maura
  13. Hope the resume is in good shape, because it sounds like you'll be needing it soon! I bet it felt good to speak your mind even knowing there would be "consequences"!
  14. Can we post this in every public bathroom stall in the country so people will stop peeing on the freakin' toilet seat in the name of hygiene?!
  15. Not to downplay it, but isn't Ivan already losing some steam? Maybe he won't be so bad by the time he reaches Florida!
  16. Exactly! All these women who are so afraid of public toilets are the ones who are causing the problem and making them so nasty! My mom has been known to "out" the women who pee on the seat in the bingo hall and don't clean up! I find that hysterical! I'll wipe off the seat and use the papers covers, but I'll only squat if I'm desperate and the bathroom is gross!

    Joey!!!!!!!

I liked it enough to tune in next week and see how it goes from there. I do like his sister and their chemistry together. Very well cast, IMO! Since I can watch Friends reruns 3-4 times a day, 7 days a week this show is going to have to get better for me to tune in every week, but it does have potential! And I watched The Apprentice and Medical Investigation. Plenty of people we love to hate on The Apprentice, just like last year-yawn- and I don't see myself becoming a Medical Investigation junkie. Now 24, there's a show! So when is someone going to chime in about the evils of television and how useless "reality TV" is especially, implying that those of us who watch are somehow intellectually inferior to them? isn't that what usually happens when someone starts a thread about a TV show?
  18. Hey, its a good story! Worth repeating! Besides, the thread you started is still on the first page!
  19. A rigger *might* be able to do it- I had a rigger fix my toe loops since I needed them done right away. A regular tailor/ seamstress may not understand that the thread and stitching need to be stronger than what they are used to, but might do a better job measuring and sewing. I know at least one jumpsuit manufacturer that will repair just about anything for a reasonable price and that includes suits made by her "competition". (She fixed the zipper on a cat carrier for me, too!)
  20. My rigger cleaned mine for me after a few years of abuse. He had it looking brand spanking new again!
  21. If the major dzs in the area do the same thing, that's one thing. I NEVER heard of that until today and I do think its deceptive!
  22. Exactly, if you're shopping around checking out the different dzs in the area, you might just end up at the place with the lowest posted price. Of course, once you're there, you find out the real price, (probably the same or even more than the other places you checked out) but you've already made your plans and the other place is perhaps 90 miles in the opposite direction so you suck it up and pay the extra money. I would call that a deceptive business practice.
  23. Oh come on! That's not a valid comparison! You cannot compare making a tandem skydive to going bowling or skating. How many first time skydivers have their own tandem rig for the jumpmaster and student harness for themselves? No one is questioning the quality of their jumpmasters, but it is blatantly deceptive advertising. I checked my DZs website just in case they were doing the same thing- they aren't. I haven't had the time to check to see if any other DZs are doing that.
  24. Its a form of discrimination, but just about impossible to prove. And, hey you know her so you would probably know if she was being honest with you or not. I just thought I would put that out there as a possibility. If she told you about the job to begin with, I doubt she'd be so underhanded now. BTW- Love it- "Sister-in-boyfriend", "cousin-in-law"! In my office we have an ex-husband and wife working in the same department! Talk about awkward!
  25. I think its BS and possibly even illegal. You aren't related, by blood or by marriage. At best there is the possibilty that you could become "sort of related" by marriage- husband's sister-in-law?? Puhleeze! Maybe there's another reason they won't consider you. Did you hear this directly from the supervisor you'd be working under or from your b/f's sister-in-law? Is it possible she isn't being completely honest with you? Can you go around her and submit your application/ resume directly? Just some thoughts.....
