  1. There's plenty of belly flying happening at SDC every weekend. It takes a bit of effort to coordinate two plane shots, but if the interest and the jumpers are there, they do it. We even did a 2 plane shot in Ixtapa.
  2. Exactly- if its important to the girlfriend and the girlfriend is important to him, its a no brainer.
  3. The short answer is Roger isn't around to organize them anymore.
  4. Exactly, it IS a mess all around. If it was done without authorization and orders, it was done directly under people's noses- people who should have been paying attention and therefore should be held equally accountable. This wasn't a one time incident, the abuse was blatant and ocurred over a long period of time. If the soldiers were indeed following orders, why are they facing jail time when the people who gave the orders are not?
  5. As snakes go, they're quite beautiful actually. But I wouldn't have one for a pet.
  6. Because we've told the world we are "better" than that, plain and simple. The truth is, if the top brass didn't know about it and order it, they still allowed it to happen under their watch. Frankly, I'm STILL not sure which is worse, and I do feel they should be held accountable.
  7. Maybe she's a retired professional basketball player who used to be a he?
  8. Isn't that how livestock is identified?
  9. I actually enjoyed some of the Rob and Amber stunts. Other teams would have done the same thing IF they had thought of it first. Refusing to eat 4 pounds of meat with flies crawling all over it and counting on other people to do the same- brilliant! The bus incident? Classic! (3 other teams were in on it and the funniest thing is they bribed the driver, but Rob and Amber didn't put in any of their money!) And also, it did come back to bite them in the a** when they tried to play head games with the older couple and they found an earlier flight as a result! They played hard, took risks and had fun. I thought they added a whole new dimension to the race and made it so much more fun to watch! And I have to appreciate the obvious respect and affection they have for each other- so refreshing when you see these other dysfunctional couples!
  10. I have a feeling Uchenna and Joyce (Joyce especially) aren't quite as nice as they seemed to be on TV. Joyce wanted to stiff the cab driver and run to the finish but Uchenna wouldn't let her. Plus, there's the whole internet gambling thing and the fact that their win was leaked very early in the season. (Were they trying to win even more money off the show or helping out friends and family members?) AND I have a feeling Rob and Amber aren't as mean as they appeared to be on TV. But, hey, they've had their 15 minutes, they've got the million from Survivor and they're probably being paid pretty well to have their wedding on TV, so I don't feel really bad that they came in second. I still think the outcome was manipulated and even though I KNEW Uchenna and Joyce were going to win, I was hoping that was bad info and Rob and Amber would win after all! Really made for an entertaining season and I think we'll see more "reality show" couples on AR in the future. (Plus some rule changes that prevent the competitors from getting outside help!)
  11. I've got to agree with you on this one. And I HOPE Uchenna and Joyce took care of their cab driver since he literally won it for them! (If Rob and Amber had a Spanish speaking cabbie, they'd have found the cigar shop first!) A lot's been said about Rob and Amber BUT they were tough competition and added a whole new dimension to the show.
  12. July for the book, November for the movie, right? Add me to the Geek List!
  13. Viking, You do realize that if they made the movie completely true to the book, it would be about 7 hours long, right?
  14. So his girlfriend was right? He does have commitment issues? lol!
  15. My guys enjoy the yard so much! Just eating the grass and sniffing the fresh air and the flowers! I've always had strictly inside cats so even giving them "yard privileges" is a big deal for me! I'm actually amazed that for the most part they seem to respect the fence! Making them go back inside right away is a pretty good incentive for them to stay in the yard! (And they say you can't train cats!)
  16. There are so many hazards for outside cats! I've compromised and started giving my oldest cat supervised yard privileges (once we had a yard!) Now the youngest gets them too, but the middle one can't be trusted. Our neighbors think we're nuts, but as soon as one of them tries to go under or around the fence, he goes back inside, and they're only allowed out if one of us is with them. I can't wait for lightning bug season this year because Spike's going to have a field day chasing them!
  17. I'll second the suggestion for a Maine Coon cat as well. My oldest cat I think must be part Maine Coon and he has the best personality and temperament. My guy is a pet store "mutt" but everything I've read and the pictures I've seen of Maine Coons describe him perfectly except he's a little smaller than most Maine Coons. In his prime, I don't think he ever weighed more then 13 pounds, and now that he's getting on in years, he's a very lean 10 pounds! If I was going to actually buy a purebred cat, I'd think about a Maine Coon, an Ocicat or a Bengal. Also, my personal experience- a neutered male cat makes a better pet than a female cat. More affectionate and outgoing. I love my little girl kitty, but she's a bitch sometimes! My two boys are really sweet all the time!
  18. My youngest cat is half Ocicat. Great temperament, extremely intelligent, handsome, LARGE (15 pounds and still growing!), affectionate, likes water and always wants to be near me. I know for a fact he has some nieces and nephews that were born a few weeks ago and "mom" will be looking for homes for them once they are about 8 weeks old. PM me if you are interested and I can put you in touch with "mom".
  19. I actually love Rob and Amber on that show. I think their (Rob's) competitive tactics make the show way more fun to watch. I love when it backfired on him two weeks ago, and I think its going to backfire on him again. He yielded the wrong team last week- he could have eliminated Uchenna and Joyce by yielding them and they are tough competiton. I'm pretty sure Uchenna and Joyce will win, and that would be great. I didn't really like them at first but they've really grown on me- they seem to really care for each other and like Rob and Amber, they are having fun and not sniping at each other constantly. I'd be happy of Rob and Amber won also. Either of them really, but NOT Ron and Kelly for the exact reasons you said- their fighting and her horrible comments about his POW experience.
  20. Towards the end of August, early September, if it wasn't for perscription allergy meds, I couldn't function, let alone skydive! Honestly, it really depends on what you are taking and how it affects you. I know plenty of jumpers that pop a couple of Sudafeds with their morning juice or coffee- helps keep the ears clear. The real issue is- you shouldn't jump with active sinus symptoms or ear problems. Stay on the ground until your ear infection is better! Zyrtec (IIRC) is a non-drowsy antihistamine. You're generally better off with the prescription antihistamines than the OTC stuff, at least that's been my experience. Never tried Zyrtec though.
  21. Umm-- You're asking this here?
  22. I just became a moderator on another board! But I promised not to be too heavy handed! And there's one other board I've been spending too much time at lately!
  23. Why? For one thing, I hope the prosecution didn't go after him with no real evidence, and strictly on rumor, innuendo and public pressure. Because although its clearly flawed, I'd like to believe in our legal system. For another, based on everything I have heard over the years and what's coming out of this trial, I don't think the man should be around children. Maybe he isn't raping them but his behaviour is not appropriate. (And yes, the parents who are selling their children to him for new cars, etc., are every bit as much at fault as he is!)
