Or the cross border raids from Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique into South Africa in the 80's and 90's... But apart from that... no country.. t It's the year of the Pig.

And the soldiers who fought in Vietnam were not spat on after the 1st year either.... In fact, you've lost more men than you did in the 1st year in Vietnam... It's the year of the Pig.

No... You attack them with Helicopter gunships and AC-130's instead... And you can't understand why they react the way they do... t It's the year of the Pig.

Now there's an understatement.. considering rocket attacks against houses in a city last night, with 26 women and children killed. The 4 US civilians killed were all ex-Mil, armed, and working for a security company... and wasn't it someone from the US that said "Bring it on!" and "you're either for us or against us" ? Not arguing with you..... t It's the year of the Pig.

SIM Recommendation for two canopies out.

The 11 out of 11 was referring to a cutaway from a Bi-Plane. You're right. I apologise for my own confusion. I posted the report without re reading it. I knew the cut away from a side by side was not recomended. Once again, sorry for any confusion caused. t It's the year of the Pig. -
Re: [pa2themd] No pull from 2000 m on 24th birthday and got killed
Tonto replied to raymod2's topic in Gear and Rigging
They are here unless the gear is used for Tandems or students. Some may require the jumper to sign an acnowlegement that the cypres is out of date. The logic is quite simple. The AAD is an extra. It may work, or not, even when new. It should NEVER be relied on. As for accidental firing - I've not heard of one. I have seen several premeture deployments from other causes though. t It's the year of the Pig. -
You're kidding, right? 14 months ago, when I was saying "No" to a non UN backed invasion, you, Rhino etc were saying "Yes." Now many are saying "How do we get out?" (With our pride intact and without leaving a militant anti US dictatorship?) They hate you (USA) because you invaded their country in violation of international law and killed many, many civilians in the process, regardless of your high tech weaponry. You named your campagne "Shock and Awe" and you now wonder why the people you set out to shock and awe are setting out to shock and awe you back... If you invaded my country on the pretext of whatever you thought was a good reason at the time and killed my kids by accident in the process, I can assure you I'd be planning any way I could to blow off your boys hands and feet. I wouldn't want them dead. I'd want them wandering your malls and eating their fast food with stumps and hobbeling about for the next 60 years as a reminder to the rest of you what happens when you piss people off. What makes you think they're any different? (I've been a soldier. I've been on the wrond side of the moral deviding line. I have sympathy for everyone involved in this conflict. It's a fuck-up.) t It's the year of the Pig.

Hi There! Congratulations on your desision to do AFF. As an AFF instructor, I dream about having students who have prepaired themselves to the degree you have! WRT the DZ, you should feel as though you're dealing with proffesionals, but somehow (certainly after a few jumps) that you also belong there. Skydiving, from a physical point of view, is incredibly easy to learn, as long as you listen to (and hear) what your Instructor is telling you. If you don't understand, don't nod and say "yes" or they'll think you've got it. Enjoy your dives! t It's the year of the Pig.

I'm with you 100%. I've seen gear (and aircraft) in Africa that I would never use, but my gear (including the cypres 3 years past it's 8 year check) is more serviceable than most. t It's the year of the Pig. -
SIM Recommendation for two canopies out.

Really? That's not what the PIA dual square report suggests. They had 11 out of 11 cases of main interference with the reserve when they did that... I've attached the report. t It's the year of the Pig. -

I use a 3 blade razor twice a week. or 2 blades 3 times a week. or a single blade 6 times a week. I'd shave once a week with a 5 blade razor.

That's good news... He was one of my students! t It's the year of the Pig.

Larry, his is missed. Scott Border too.. He let me go mainside on my 1st ever "live" aff... Cool guy. Miss his input, but he still inspires. t It's the year of the Pig.

what's that ?? Some Birdman wingsuits have studs on the booties to secure them to the hips after deployment. This prevents them tripping you up on landing. I couldn't find the studs in the dark, and so unzipped the front zipper and pushed the booties into the suit after taking them off my feet. t It's the year of the Pig.

Maybe. I also know of people who jumped doing other stuff and died. Doesn't mean it can't be done. It's one man CRW. Don't wrap yourself. Simple. t It's the year of the Pig.

I did one. It was cool. Search the forum for more info. All I can think to tell you is open a little higher, cos if stuff goes wrong and you can't find things - it could get ugly. Small details, like finding the press studs on your hips, can make the difference between a nice landing and a face plant. Know that stuff like you could do it in the dark! I was SO COOL though. t It's the year of the Pig.

Actually.. I slither quite well. It's one of my finest features. It's the hopping up and down afterwards that makes me look like I'm trying to take off before my load. Thanks for the advice!

Congratulations! I just got a "new for me" suit too, but being a 2nd hand Classic 1... it doesn't warrant it's own thread. Enjoy! It's the year of the Pig.

Very Nice! t It's the year of the Pig.

Aren't there closer places, erm, like England :-) where you could get a BMI to come from?! Yeah... but you guys are ENGLISH. Geddit? It's the year of the Pig.

I've done video, (300+) AFF (1400) and Tandem. (700) I don't pack. I hate packing. I can, but 2000+ pack jobs are enough for me. I pack my own gear only when I'm doing something new (Like wingsuit dives) to nail down how I like things, and then my packer, Justice, (That's his real name) takes it from there. I don't do video anymore. Equipment costs, jumpsuits and editing just piss me off. I don't do Tandem anymore. Borrowed gear and over 1 chop per 100 jumps - and a reserve mal - kind of made it seem not so worth while. I'm also having to step off AFF to do Tandem, and I prefer my own gear. I may do it again in a few years. I LOVE AFF. I work well with my students, they learn, I don't charge for repeats and most of my DZ friends and fellow fun jumpers are former students of mine. Without working on the DZ, I cannot afford to skydive. The 350 dives a year I do pay for a few fun dives, but also pays maintenance for my girls, puts gas in the tank of my car and food in my belly. t It's the year of the Pig.

*Tighten your chest strap* If you're worried about hooking your camera in the lines on the turn around move.. Hook your feet up with your heels inside your front risers/line group. You'll be upside down, facing backwards and still have both hands in the toggles. Don't extend too much while inverted as it raises the COG of the wing and causes it to oscillate more. Makes for great pictures. Just remember to turn them around after development. Don't do this if your canopy is elliptical and/or very highly loaded, or if you're not strong enough to keep your moves gentle and controlled, or if you have shoes with hooks on them, or if you're the type of dude that could get himself hooked, wrapped or entangled in your own lines. Don't. If you're in OK shape and move like you didn't just borrow your body from someone else for the weekend and have not yet read the manual, then it's worth giving a try up high without wearing a camera. t It's the year of the Pig.
