Look at the calculator I noted on the other page. It will calculate where infinity in focus starts. I have a 22-55mm lens as it lets me stay with one. I have it on a Rebel 2000 so I picked the lens setting on the attached chart at 22, 24 and 28. As long as your at least focused on at a point beyond the hyperfocal point (noted with the calculator) your good to infinity. The close in focus distance at given aperature is noted in the Near focus.. Scott C. The pics you noted look pretty good though "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Slinks are great and I have used them. Now I have a set of Hiper Links from Hiper USA. They cost less and they have been awesome. Passenger had a good time. Thought something was funny and when I asked if he liked the 2nd freefall he said something to the effect of I wondered what that was.... He wanted to go again so I dont think it affected him that much.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Well it had been a 3 months over a year and I get to enjoy another tandem chop. The jump was uneventfull. We had to exit at 8500 with clouds.. Overall had a great jump, released drouge and the opening was really really slow... Finally opened and quickly looked down to see where we were and then it started bucking with a turn. Looked up to see the left 3rd of canopy pinched off, looked like a number of lines were "over". Fought with it for awhile and just when I thought it was getting better went bad again. Wrapped passenger with my legs and "pull" -just start to fall and know clear of risers "pull" . Damn those tandem reserve open slow . End result uneventfull alnding. Watched main land on grass patch between airport and LZ at the intersection (LZ is 1/4 mile to the west).. Pretty straight forward and the passanger had a fun time and enjoyed the 2nd freefall.. I think about my procedures on every jump as part of routine and this ended up as a "no-problem" reserve ride. Not an incident but a friendly reminder to ALWAYS be ready espically if your doing a tandem.. Lots of extra things to think about but this one went just like it should! Thanks for thew nice words from all of you. I am very proud of her and even though she is only 4 y/o she is growing way too fast. Jumping off the PLF platform is just fun for her. She is taking a gymnastics class and other things like that and is getting better at falling. The funny thing is that she told me last weekend that she at only 4 was not big enough to skydive but when she is 8 then she will be big enough The big job will be keeping her away from boys like me when she is older Scott C. Last weekend my daughter, Skyler, decided that she could jump from the top of the PLF practice set up at the DZ. Hell I remember last year when she could not climb up to the top with out wanting help and she certiantly would not jump! Now she just scrambles up and jumps

For those that are running these cameras, and probably the 20 and the 30, when in Easy mode if automatically switches to Auto Focus?? Has this been a problem over a formation with the camera trying to focus on the ground? The Easy makes the picture look great but I am wondering about the focus issue. I like the not having to worry about the exposure at all but I am use to being able to go to infinify focus and leave it at the for pretty much everything regarding skydiving. There are two uses for this camera, hand mount and helmet. Do I need to worry about different settings for the two different needs.. Input from people with these cameras would be appreciated.... Also as a side note for some other posts out there I have my order in on the BH D-box for my 40. The box is said to be for the HC 20, 30 and 40 cameras. I talked to Linda and they had a batch they are shipping (I think they are shipping) and they are building the next batch. Orders are being taken. I was told 2 weeks last week to get in on the second batch shipment, but we will see..... Thanks in advance on teh focus and EASY operation question. Scott C. I agree that there are lots of good rigs out there. The Mirage has some great features as well does Javelin. I ended up getting a Wings as it was a cross of the good features of both of the two mentioned with a great price and much faster deliverd (non-express delivery/build) Dont discount the other rigs like Infinity and Talon as I think if you jumped in a different location you would see tends towards rigs shift. This I have found tends to be a personal preference combined with regional or local preference. Of the four mentioned in this post they are all good rigs... Scott C. I have seen a lot of cards that dont specifically state the information on the Cypress. With the on comming 12 year end of life for lots of Cypress units I have wondered the same question and posted a poll. To add to what Dave said there is a thought that I have used very well to not separate the risers to untwist. I actually level them out to help and stop any spin (i.e. what Dave said) and then bring them together to bring the twists down faster. Helps open the canopy up more and is easy to untwist. Make sure you have them leveled out though. Just a thought and I have used and it works great on the times I have neded it! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Does anybody know if the "large" D-box from bonehead will fit a TRV 8?? It notes a TRV 6, 11, 15, 17, 18, 20, 25, 27, 30, & 50 but am curious about the 8. If not the 8 is there one that can? I was thinking about picking up a 8 in good shape cheap. But it might not be worth it if I cant get a D-box... I guess I could always go with a non dbox mounted camera.... Has anybody tried the Bonehead Aluminum "L" Bracket Camera Mount for mounting on top one of the new HC series Camcorders? Just curious. Was thinking about a box but there really is not one available for these cameras yet and the L bracket looks like it will work. It will also allow me to pick between top or side if I want to change?? I kinda got that impression that they were the way to go but wondered if I had the right part number. There are a ton of different versions, a lot are parts or camera specific. Also does anybody know the part num,ber for an antitwist plate for a Canon Rebel 2000?? I see a number of different canon cameras listed but dont see a specific one for the 2000 Scott C.
