  1. I own a sabre2 135 and love it. But we had a little discussion the other day about PD doing better selling the canopy if they would have changed the name completely away from "saber" It kinda makes sense because a lot of people associate the saber with wicked and hard openings. Sorry about getting off the subject kinda but just some input into the sabre2. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  2. Not freefly coaching. Just regular bellyfly coaching. You only have to have a B licence and 100 jumps i believe to get a coach rating. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  3. I have coached him before. I'll keep an eye on him before he goes up tryin to freefly. Its always a little scary when ya hear people sayin stuff like that. I guess a little belly work wouldnt hurt me --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  4. Actually i did say something to one of them. I told him to either ask an S&TA or another freeflyer or sumthin. I definately made sure that he wasnt gettin away with tellin him that. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  5. This weekend at my dropzone i heard something that really kind of bothered me. Two jumpers with minimal experience were talking about freeflying. (In my opinion they should both get a lot better before attempting anything else but belly flying) One had a vector2 with velcro riser covers and a worn out main flap cover, the other had a older javelin with velcro riser covers. The one with the vector 2 said "I would like to start freeflying, but do you think my rig is ok to freefly with?" The other said "O yeah! sure, everything looks tight enough" All i could do is look at another skydiver as we both shook our heads. Im not sure on the year of the vector2 but the javelin was an 88. Still, they both need to get better on the belly first. Any ideas on this? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  6. Are u sure your talkin about the same ad? Because i think the one in the mag. was of a guy almost completely covered up in uncooked hot dogs. Ive never seen this one before. and yeah i do think it was for the swoop2 vid. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  7. Yeah i think i saw someone do that once. That will be my next exit. O yeah, im still waitin on u to come to franklin to make some ff jumps skygod777. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  8. hahahaha!! hmmmm --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  9. Well everytime i do a hop-n-pop or a solo, i like geeking the pilot everytime i leave. Its fun to watch their faces when i climb out on the strut in some weird way and watch them as a drop out into a sit or backflip or backfly or sumthin. Problem is...im runnin out of ideas. They expect it from me everytime i leave, ive done everything from flipping them off, to climbing out on the strut backwards. So what are your ideas. I just need something to keep them guessing. Dont say the toe hang thing though cuz our dzo doesnt like that. O yeah, i guess i should mention if you havent already figured it out that we have 182's. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  10. I wouldnt go as far as to say that they suck. If they sucked they would have poor customer service, and not ever deal with a problem. As i said before, yes they did send the wrong color freefly pants, but they contacted me immediately and sent me a new pair for free, and just let me keep the old ones. They did get it exactly right the second time. Maybe they havent been around long, but everybody has to start somewhere. Gotta give them a chance at least to really get into buisness and hit the market. We only have a few freeflyers at our DZ including me, and most of them have kurupee suits. I was the first one to ever have a problem with them. Why go buy the most expensive freefly suit when Kurupee has done just as good for us? I can see maybe getting the best canopy and container and reserve. But, when it comes to a suit...its just a suit unless your goin for extra options. I wouldnt really call it an inferior design either. In my opinion they make a cool suit. Just my view of things. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  11. I dont really think that he was bashing the product, he was just sayin that they arent good for freeflying and sharing his experience with them. Im gonna have to agree with 321seeya's comment. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  12. I just ordered a Kurupee suit and I think it came to $180 after shipping. Kurupee even makes a really nice suit. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  13. The first time that i ordered from kurupee i ordered freefly pants. when i opened the package they were the wrong colors, and smaller than what i had ordered, so i emailed them and they let me keep the pair and sent me another pair rush delivery and free shipping (which was cool) But its really no problem cuz they fit my mom really well and now im finally talkin her into freeflyin. The customer service was really great with them. I actually have a new suit coming from them, should be in the mail sometime soon. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  14. I guess i really dont have that problem seeing that my stepdad is a tandem master, and my mom is a tandem videographer. I guess they would have said sumthin after 180 jumps. But im still payin for my own jumps. I edit tandem video to afford it. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  15. Well, my skydiving b-day is gonna be tomorrow so im hopin to get a few jumps in. One year goes by pretty fast doesnt it? I think i should wind up around 185 jumps, which isnt too bad for indiana weather and only just now turning 17. Yeah, i think its safe to say that i love this sport. Ive met a lotta cool people and had a lotta awesome jumps in my first year. Ive also learned A TON!!! and i know theres still a ton more to learn. Lets see...heres what ive bought 3 containers- Dolphin, javelin j2, javelin TJN 3 reserves- Tempo 160, pd 160, tempo 120 2 main canopies- Spectre 150, Sabre2 135 Planes jumped from: Cesna 182, 185, and turbo 206 Skyvan, Casa, and porter Tomorrow better be good! Im about over these clouds. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  16. HAHA! wow thats great. me and my friends found that the other day sumwhere. we had to watch it a good 10 times. Dont ya love the part where as he falls off stage he just kind of swings around at nothing. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  17. Thank you guys both for the info. I definately have a lotta people out there at my DZ to watch when they can. I have been flyin in brakes a lot and turning and swoopin up high. Ive done a couple high hop-n-pops on it somwhere around sunset. (thats the best time to do those) I go on static line loads when i can to get a hop n pop in. Plus, its always fun to see the expressions that they have. i wanna get real good at the double fronts before i start anything more. So far i think my longest swoop has been about 40 or 50 feet. Well i can already tell that im gonna like this swoopin thing --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  18. Yeah i guess i never thought about that. sounds like a pretty good idea. i guess i was just tryin to see what people would recomend or say assuming that i am a good canopy pilot. Which i do think i am --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  19. OK, i got a sabre2 135 and now im starting to swoop. Dont worry im takin it slow. Right now im doin just kind of a chin up on the front risers w/ straight in approach. I think the farthest ive gotten has been about 40 feet according to someone watching on the ground. Its been pretty fun and im bein real careful with it
  20. I would probably suggest looking at a fairly larger canopy or get some canopy coaching. Maybe find something a little more forgiving? i dunno, but i hope it works out for ya and u get the problem fixed
  21. We have two 182's and one 206. I prefer to go out on the step, look back at the pilot and leave in a track position. Looks good if there is video and the pilots always like it --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  22. Well i put a few jumps on it now, and really the openings havent been a prob anymore. It did a 180 on abt 2 or 3....but most of the time they were great. You just gotta be ready on the toggels. most of the time, it comes out, 3 cells inflate, then immediately 5, then the 2 end cells slowly open....sounds like a sweet opening to me --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  23. Mine is a 135, and i have a big 1 jump on it so i cant really compare or anything. But...on this 1 jump ive got on it, it did a 180 about the time it inflated. No big deal, the end cells did stay closed a little bit longer than i expected to. Did i mention that i love packing a new zero-p canopy? Its very fun to fly!!!! I had a spectre 150 before this and it was ok but i wanted to start getting into 9 cells, and i LOVE the landing that i had. Like i said, i only have 1 jump on it....so now im gonna go fix that. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  24. Hey, i gotta idea. Go to your DZ and listen to first time jumpers when they come down. You WILL remember what it felt like when you started skydiving. Just look at their faces, they're always so excited. Maybe...you will get that feeling to and want to go right back up and get back into it. Or...maybe you should try freeflying or CRW. Try something new. Do some cross countries at sunset, or do a Mr. Bill. Anything that you can get real excited about. Give it another shot --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
