Hi john, I already jump with lil'sal but she smells. We've just started to go to a different drop zone. It's a little further away but its a little cheaper. Whats this plasma stuff and where do I get it? Your not talking about the IV drip are you???

I had the video of my "back loop". It looked like a piece of crispy bacon flopping round trying to jump out of the pan . I made it back over though. I'll try just going limp out of the plane or "cannon-balling" on exit. I think it would be cool just falling without having to do anything.

Why is there no AFF stage for learning how to be unstable? This might sound strange as AFF is designed to teach the essentials of begginer skydiving ie.being stable etc. What if your doing your first hop n' pop at 4000 feet and do find yourself doing the wrong things? Shouldn't you have been prepared earlier in the training at altitude? Having almost finished my AFF as I have to retry my 4000 hop n' pop (sound familiar) I know I would have preffered to feel what unstable feels like at 14000. It is possible to get to your final jump and find it's your first time being unstable or on your back. Just in case your going to say that you shouldn't get to your graduation jump if you cant keep stable. I know the AFF course has been deveoped over many years by the experts. Just my thoughts.

Barwon Heads airport. Close to the beach. Plane go up near beach. Me fall down near beach.

Can i try ur rig/jumpsuit/goggles/place in the next load/girlfriend... Sounds like I could make a good skydiving career out of that!

i actually heard that is how eBay started. It's just skydivers selling their stuff.

Skydiver afraid of heights. Friends tease without mercy.

Maybe because at 14,000 the ground doesn't look like ground. You can make out land marks (like the DZ) but not features that we see everyday just walking around. As you get lower (under canopy) you can make out more and realise just what you might be running in to. -
OMG... ITS ELVIS!!!!!!!!

I did the same thing... except without the trash bags. Probably just my childhood though!!!

I finnaly bought my very first piece of skydiving equipment... goggles. Just to give me something to hold on to when i'm not jumping. The only problem with them is that they start to shrink at altitude. They are still pretty snug and keep the wind out but is this something that is normal? Or will I end up like this guy? ---->

Hi guys. I made a post already but I didn't really introduce myself. My first jump was a tandem at Barwon Heads, Victoria. Thats in Australia just in case you were wondering. I'm 99.9% through my AFF course (I have to do my hop n pop again). Something that I found really helpful in getting through my course was jumping with a friend. Doing my stage 1 I was talking to a girl and we realised that we were on the same tandem load together. That was 2 weeks previously. It's LilSal shes on the forum somewhere around here. We pushed eachother to go and its nice to have someone on the drive to the DZ. Its also nice to laugh at them when they repeat. Little did I know I would repeat the next stage (serves me right). Does anyone else jump in Vic? Ive jumped at Nagambie as well. But beach jumps at Barwon are just awesome!!!

Hey just to help you guys out a touch... According to the Concise Oxford English Dictionary. Noun (pl. -os or -oes) an object shaped like an erect penis used for sexual stimulation. Of unknown origin. I guess you really do learn something new every day.

Hey mate, I did my first tandem at Barwon and started my AFF course there. The guys are pretty cool there. I did one jump as the sun was setting over the beach- i didnt want it to stop but all good things must come to an end i guess. Maybe ill see you down there some time.

I wasnt really interested in the poll. The answers have been pretty good though. It's nice to see what other people think.

I know you never stop learning but I was wondering what you guys thought. Is there a higher class of jumper? Last time I checked we were all equally mortal.

Hey guys and gals... almost finished my AFF course and i'm loving it! And I only failed sorry... repeated 2 stages. Only one problamo in that I cant afford petrol (Gas to the yanks) to get to my drop zone. Not that it bothers me, coz i'll walk there if I have to. At least jumps are getting cheaper after AFF course and that doesn't include buying a rig. I did a couple of jumps at sunset over the beach. Why would anyone want to keep their feet on the ground? I guess most people just dont understand. One other thing that I didnt expect from the sport. Just how friendly the ppl are. I thought it would be like surfers shouting about how im stealing their air! I like the vibe of it all. See you guys around.
